In Amy's account, the Dark Covenant is not a rigidly organized force, but a loose confederation of various entities.
However, due to this fluidity, Morgen identified some inherent weaknesses. Dark creatures are inherently suspicious, making it difficult to fully trust one another, despite their loose alliance.
Amy acknowledged this aspect and provided information about the prominent forces within the Dark Covenant.
"Darkness comprises several potent forces," Amy explained. "Among them, the president of the Dark Covenant, Viscount Bernard, is both the strongest and most enigmatic figure. When I joined the Covenant, he was already its leader, and he has never taken direct action in the last 20 years. Yet, his authority remains unchallenged.
"Secondly, there is the Evening Bell Church. The church is dedicated to Bane, the evil god of tyranny who resides in the abyss and promotes violence, abuse, and murder. The bishop of the Evening Bell Church is a formidable figure who assisted in my transformation into a shadow priest. Recently, the church received Bane's blessing, resulting in the emergence of a second level beta evil god priest, enhancing their collective strength.
"Thirdly, we have the eight-armed snake demon, Roy Ackerman, a force from the abyss. This level beta plus demon arrived in Green City three years ago. Snake demons are superior demons within the abyss, and the eight-armed snake demon, as its king, possesses immense power. His combat prowess ranks below only Viscount Bernard within the Covenant. He could be the entity you encountered at the Mage Tower's gate.
"Snake demons prefer lurking in the shadows and hunting their prey. Recalling those cold and tyrannical eyes, Morgen nodded in acknowledgment. The name 'eight-armed snake demon' was now etched in his memory. He still vividly recalled the brutal killing intent that only an abyssal devil could emit.
"Finally, there is a level beta minus undead mage," Amy continued, her expression becoming more serious. "This undead being has lived for an extended period, amassing a vast arsenal of abilities.
"Furthermore, Viscount Bernard's personal bodyguard is a Northern warrior with the blood of the north, also a level beta plus existence.
"In total, the Dark Covenant has 12 vice presidents: Viscount Bernard, the eight-armed snake demon, two priests of the Evening Bell Church, the necromancer, the Northern Warrior, myself, and five enigmatic individuals who have never revealed their true identities. Only Viscount Bernard knows their true nature, and it is possible that one or two of them hold level beta power."
After Amy's detailed explanation, Morgen took a deep breath. He recognized that this force could not be underestimated. It posed a grave threat, not only to the Scarlet Mage Tower but also to the White Tower, which boasted significantly more defensive capabilities. Even a level 19 mage like Spark would struggle to confront such a formidable force.
"Where are Odis and Frey?" Morgen inquired. Only Harrison remained in Dawn City from the second generation of blood, and even Frey, who guarded the sanctuary, had come.
"They are concealed in a secret residence I previously acquired," Amy replied. "The Cyclops and other blood clans are stationed outside Green City. Their numbers are too large to keep hidden within the city."
Morgen pondered their situation. The Dark Covenant had set its sights on the Scarlet Mage Tower, and their malicious intent would persist until their objective was achieved.
"If we locate the gathering place of these Dark Covenant entities, could we leverage the power of Green City?" An idea flashed through Morgen's mind. Engaging in a proxy war could prove advantageous. Green City's strength far surpassed that of the Dark Covenant, and a single extraordinary mage could potentially eliminate the entire organization.
Amy shook his head. "Ancestor, the Dark Covenant does not maintain a permanent meeting place. Moreover, the Evening Bell Church provides its members with teleportation scrolls imbued with the power of the evil god. Unless they are caught completely off guard, it would be challenging to inflict a substantial blow.
"Most importantly, the elite figures in Green City may not be inclined to engage in conflict with the Dark Covenant's evil entities.
"In this world, aside from sects devoted to the bright gods, the nobility will not take the initiative to confront such forces unless compelled to do so. They will remain passive as long as the evil beings do not directly threaten or offer sufficient incentives."

Morgen understood Amy's explanation. The existence of the Dark Covenant was not unknown to Green City's influential individuals. However, these nobles either avoided unnecessary risks, had vested interests, or even potentially had connections with the organization.
After further conversation, Morgen and Amy left the Elvis Tavern. With the cover of nearby carriages, Amy donned his cloak once more and provided Morgen with a woman's white cloak from an unattended carriage. Concealing their appearances, they departed from the crime scene in the shadowed alley.
After navigating a circuitous route through the city's backstreets, they emerged on a different street where a carriage awaited them. Amy nodded to the driver and boarded the carriage with Morgen.
The carriage proceeded slowly along the open road. About half a Sunday later, Amy's expression suddenly grew solemn.
"Ancestor, the Dark Covenant is approaching."
Morgen remained calm, his thoughts racing. "Where are they?"
Amy turned slightly, his eyes narrowed. "I detect a familiar presence. They may be seeking me specifically."
"Mr. Amy, the Bishop has requested your presence at tonight's meeting."
The cold voice emanated from the street's dark corner.
After delivering the message, a metallic clatter echoed as an object struck the ground. The scent of blood wafted into the carriage. The carriage driver had been slain by the newcomer, a typical act of evil creatures.
Amy's expression darkened as he looked towards Morgen. As the ancestor of the blood clan, the blood descendants were bound to obey his commands, regardless of the circumstances.
Morgen's mind worked quickly, and he whispered into Amy's ear, "From this moment forward, you are the ancestor of the blood clan, and I am your blood descendant."
Leaving now would be unwise. They lacked information about the Dark Covenant's numbers and identities.
"The Dark Covenant?"
"Let us confront them together."
Amy met Morgen's gaze and nodded firmly. "I will safeguard your well-being with my life."
Morgen calmly shook his head. "This is not a threat... Only by observing these evil beings firsthand can we formulate effective countermeasures.
"While I have gathered knowledge about the Dark Covenant through your words, experiencing it directly would be invaluable."
As for the risks involved?
A flicker of coldness crossed Morgen's eyes. He had never shied away from danger. If he lacked the courage to confront such perils, his aspirations to lead the blood clan to greatness would be nothing more than empty words. Moreover, he doubted the situation posed significant danger.
Amy was one of the vice presidents and a genuine blood clan. Could there be a more authentic dark entity than that?
Wasn't it plausible for Amy, a beta-level shadow high priest, to have taken Morgen, a blood clan, as his younger brother?
Who would suspect that a blood clan was the true master of the Scarlet Mage Tower and a disciple of the Great Mage Spark?
Amy nodded. "So be it, ancestor."
"You encountered an isolated blood clan in the distant mountains this winter. Pursued by the Knight's Temple, you were gravely injured.
"In your desperation for eternal life, you voluntarily underwent transformation into a blood clan. However, fearing mind control, you devised a plan and eliminated the blood clan that initially bit you.
"I am the blood clan you encountered at the orc border. I surrendered to you. Previously, I was a wandering blood clan, merely seeking survival."
Morgen spoke rapidly in a hushed tone, and Amy committed the story to memory effortlessly.
"Mr. Amy?"
The voice outside the carriage grew impatient as Amy remained silent. The magic fluctuations in the air had intensified, indicating that the caller was losing patience.
Brush~
The black carriage curtain was drawn open, and Morgen emerged, stepping aside respectfully.
Amy disembarked with Morgen's assistance, his movements fluid and natural, revealing no signs of suspicion.
With sharp fangs extending from his mouth, blood-red eyes, and the strong scent of blood emanating from his body, Morgen had transformed dramatically from the human mage he had been.
Even Bella would struggle to recognize him as the same individual.
Morgen stood by the carriage, waiting patiently for Amy, behaving like a loyal servant.
Amy's movements were also natural and calm, and no one could detect anything amiss.
The figure concealed in the darkness relaxed slightly and approached the carriage. A pair of piercing dark blue eyes appeared beneath the cloak.
"Gaga, Mr. Amy, it has been long since we last met.
"Your soul? Ah, you have become a vampire?"
Under the cloak's shadow, the voice resembled the creaking of an old iron door, sharp and harsh.
Amy raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Mr. Bone, I am willing to sacrifice for the gift of immortality."
Morgen narrowed his eyes, quickly deducing the individual's identity. Bone, a beta minus-level undead mage, wielded a mighty bone dragon.
"Excellent. I have an affinity for vampires. Their bodies are the finest alchemical materials..."
Bone turned his head slightly and briefly observed Morgen with those dark blue eyes but paid him no further attention. A twelve or thirteen-level mage was not worthy of his consideration.
"Viscount Bernard eagerly awaits you, Mr. Amy. I trust you will not miss this gathering." His tone was tinged with excitement.
"The Evening Bell Church has harnessed the power of the tyrannical god to forge legendary weapons. The divine energy is intoxicating.
"It is the most magnificent weapon I have ever witnessed. Perhaps within a week, no, three days, we shall lay siege to a human mage tower in full view of this human city."
