Chapter X

The conversation Morrigan and Solomon had was long and boring, though it was not enough to dampen her growing excitement.

He promised a tour of the ship she would be given when the repairs were closer to completion. He also updated her Inquisitor badge that held all of her necessary information to access just about everything Inquisition related.

Morrigan badgered the older man with countless questions, mainly dos and don’ts as well as how she should be expected to handle every scenario her brain could concoct. She knew the Inquisitors operated with freedom and individuality however, she was surprised still that Solomon was giving her the same rights to exercise her own judgment freely as long as anything she did overtly benefited the quality of life for those within the Eskarii, Marmuro’k and Terran territories, reminding her of the story of the rogue Inquisitor and the fate of that individual.

He did warn her though that entering the Marmuro’k territories was at her own risk. The Marmuro’k tolerated the Inquisition as long as they remained peaceful and kept their distance, but it had been known for them fire upon Inquisition ships without cause or reason at times.

The last thing he did was update her data-slate as well as a back up drive if hers ever broke, therefore she could install the information onto a new one aboard her ship. The new data even included full schematics of the ship she would be commanding for her to study and familiarize herself with over the following two weeks it would take to repair the ship.

It was something she took time to brush up on while taking the long trek back to the market district to Pandora’s Box.

She had no reference to compare it to however, looking over the mechanical drawings of the Inquisition Light Cruiser Archangel, she was finding it utterly beautiful without even seeing it.

Ha! That’s a bit on the nose don’t you think? Apollyon mused.

She chuckled at the irony, “Yeah because we named you after an archangel,” she confirmed as she lit a cigar and took a long fruity, earthy menthol infused drag.

Well sure, there is that, but think about it. Archangels were supposed to be the most powerful being just below the Christian God, and here you are, Apollyon stated with amused levity.

She didn’t miss the fact Apollyon had started filling her head with grand praise and notions just as Apollyon had done when she first accepted the being into her body. She did not ask why though, thinking it was just excitement to finally roam free again and be who they wanted to be again.

“Holy shit! Look at this, the thing has an experimental rail gun on it!” she exclaimed as she looked over the offensive weaponry schematics. Underneath the blade like prow of the ship was a retracting half mile long rail gun designed with six electromagnetic guide rails to propel projectiles at an unholy speed.

She became so enraptured by the little things about the ship, she did not notice the bright neon lights of Pandora’s Box as her body's autopilot drove her right into the front door.

She caught the wayward data-slate with a relieving sigh as ash from her cigar bounced across the screen which she wiped off after locking the device. She chuckled at herself for losing herself in the information she read. It was silly, but also embarrassing at the same time that she didn't have the attention span to not run into something, though she was thankful no one was around to witness it.

You kidding? That's going in the blooper reel hahaha Apollyon cackled in amusement.

“Oh shut up,” she mused as she holstered the device to her left thigh, shaking her head as a new notch of embarrassment flushed against her cheeks.

“Surprise!” cheered the packed bar, causing Morrigan to flare power instinctively as the cigar slipped from her lips and fell to the ground, her eyes wildly searching for targets. Her crimson claws and skeletal wings became a thing of awe before the bar broke out into laughter.

Morrigan’s heart hammered in her chest as a laugh escaped her dumbfounded smile, realizing it was a surprise party for her. Even Apollyon howled with laughter in her head.

She released her energy as Clare cheered, “There's my party girl!”

Morrigan blushed as she made her way through the crowd that gave her a wide enough berth. Some of the women in the crowd gave her a pat on the back all of the men clapped and cheered, remembering quite well the warning Solomon had put out.

As she approached the bar, she found Clare surrounded her Marmuro’k, Yekku and Qiote chirping and warbling loudly while Xol and Hî’tet gave her fanged grins of approval. Clare was also surrounded by four other Inquisitors she didn't recognize.

Clare ran and scooped Morrigan up giving her a massive hug, figuratively and literally seeing as how much taller she was.

“Damn, it took you long enough, the old man talk your ears off?” Clare stated with levity

Morrigan smiled, “No, I actually got distracted on my way here studying the schematics of the Archangel.”

“It’s a beauty, right?! Just wait till you see it in person!” Clare beamed, Morrigan able to tell she had already been drinking.

“Oh right, come here, you should meet your fellow Inquisitors. They just happened to be on station today!”

Clare did not give Morrigan much of a choice as she dragged her by the wrist the rest of the way.

“Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you our newest sister, Inquisitor Morrigan Clarke! Mori, this is Dannal Sherika, Aria Tsambikos, Elliot Jones, and Heather Silas,” she presented the group to her.

She shook the two women’s hands but had to obstinately shirk one of men who offer his hand, backing up a step.

The blonde Inquisitor, Heather, slapped his shoulder hard, “Dude! Did you really forget?”

Dannal, who had to be the second youngest Inquisitor in the group shrunk under the assault, “Yeah, yeah I did, sorry about that sister,” he forced out at the likelihood of being smacked again.

Morrigan gave him a nervous smile and nodded, “It’s alright. It sucks sometimes honestly but I’m doing my best to get over it…”

“Hey girl!” Dora exclaimed as he rounded the bar, “Look at you all grown up and so fast too!” Dora said with proud excitement as he reached over the bar and gave her a hug.

“Wait, what? How come he gets to touch you?!” Dannal exclaimed incredulously.

Dora turned to him with a grin as Morrigan blushed and turned while the other Inquisitors snickered.

“Oh honey, I'm special because I'm more woman than you could handle, if you'd like to find out you’re more than welcome to stick around after hours,” Dora explained with a promising grin and wink. Morrigan and the rest of the Inquisitors laughed as the young man turned red. To drive the point home, Yekku forced his slender head between Morrigan’s arm and her side and purred.

“Awe, hi baby boy, did you come to celebrate?” She cooed.

Yekku wrapped his long slender arms around body and warbled. All the women that paid enough attention to the interaction awed in adoration while Morrigan bent over and kissed his snout.

Yekku let out a happy chirp before Xol barked something at him, causing him to sputter noises before slipping through the crowd with extreme precision.

Morrigan looked surprised before turning to Xol with a raised eyebrow.

“They're some interesting friends you've made. Talk of the hive, actually,” Clare said drawing her attention.

“Yeah, how did you manage to make friends with them? God only knows how long the rest of us have been trying.” Aria, the brunette woman with short hair, chimed in.

Morrigan snorted and grinned, “That's going to require a lot of drinks.”

Dora spread his arms with lavish style, “Now your speaking my language hun, what can I get everyone?”

Xol and Hî’tet both grinned at that and approached the bar, properly startling several patrons and Inquisitors with how fast and fluid they moved.

“Double Whiskey!” Morrigan chimed as everyone started ordering more drinks.

The party turned out pretty heavily as everyone started drinking and dancing all the while Morrigan, Dora and the Inquisitors shared various stories. Many of those stories being gritty and violent.

“Oh you wouldn't believe it, I took on this warlord on Caspin once who had the entire planet locked in perpetual conflict. Not just any conflict, but this was some old Earth world war type shit. So, me and my retinue sneak into this obnoxiously lavish estate this dude lived in and confronted him on the matter. Ended up killing him and then sleeping with his wife!” Clare exclaimed as she downed the rest of her dark brown bitter beer.

“No way!” Morrigan laughed as she listened.

“Oh yeah, even banged his son too. That was a fun excursion,” she mused as she held the glass out to Dora.

Dora howled with laughter during it all as he grabbed the glass and refilled from one of the various taps.

“You haven’t changed a bit darling, and the best part is I knew that cranky old bastard you put down,” Dora said.

“Really? Ha!”

“Oh yeah, he tried recruiting my war band back in the early days of the war, but I was happy with what we were doing at the time and told the old man to choke on it,” Dora replied with a hearty chuckle.

“Oh man, that’s great,” Morrigan said as she wiped tears of laughter from her eyes, “I’m definitely going to have to hide you from my girlfriend now.”

“Hide who from me, precious?” Nora whispered into Morrigan’s ear while cradling her from behind, causing her to startle and cough up the whiskey she was drinking.

“Oh gods that hurts!” Morrigan complained with a steady slur as she wiped her mouth and coughed some more.

Nora took a look at the who Morrigan had been talking to and pulled her closer as if defensive of the tall red head, “And where did you find this tall, sexy and gorgeous?”

Clare laughed out loud at that and pointed at Nora while looking at Morrigan, “Is this her?!”

Morrigan nodded with a grin as she leaned back against Nora and poorly reached up to touch her face. “Yiss, this is my lovely lady!” Morrigan stated childishly.

“Awww, look at you being a little boozy!” Nora cooed as she leaned down and kissed Morrigan on the cheek repeatedly.

“Hey Dora! Black label me!” she called out as she stopped pouring affection onto Morrigan.

Dora snorted and rolled his eyes, “Oh please, you’re getting a blue label tonight.”

Nora cocked her head and looked around the packed bar that she seemed only to just now realize was packed wall to wall, “What’s the special occasion?”

The exuberant look of shock on Dora’s face sent Morrigan into a fit of drunken giggles.

“You haven’t told her?!” Dora exclaimed while the others around her watched the spectacle in amusement.

Morrigan shook her head giggling. “Well you need to tell right now missy!” Dora exclaimed as he poured Nora’s drink.

Nora looked down at a meek, childishly shy and also very drunk Morrigan staring back up at her as she chewed on her thumb nail.

Morrigan reached up and pulled Nora’s head down, “I’m an Inquisitor now,” she whispered loudly as if it had been some big secret.

She felt Nora shiver and shutter before Dora slide the drink over. Nora downed the entire glass in a single tip, wincing as the bourbon burned down her throat.

“Yep,” she said clearing her throat, “I wish you would've said that later tonight, I definitely need a dry pair of underwear now,” she murmured to herself with a smirk though everyone could hear.

Everyone laughed at that as Nora spun Morrigan on the stool before pulling her head up and pushed her lips against her deeply filled with admiration and lust.

Before long, everyone in the bar was whistling and cat calling the two women making out passionately in full display. Nora didn't have a care in the world who saw and Morrigan was to drunk to care as they lost each other in the moment.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

Yekku interjected himself with no understanding of privacy as he poked his head directly between both women with a wild chirp.

Nora and Morrigan laughed before reaching down and manhandling Yekku even though, fully standing, he was taller than her.

“What do you think you’re doing mister, ruining a perfectly good moment?” Nora grilled the S’randin as he bellowed alarmed squawks as he fought to stay upright, a box clutched in his grasp.

“Let him go sweetie! I think he’s got something to show us,” Morrigan refocused.

Nora released the lanky lizard humanoid while he nodded rapidly, righting himself.

Yekku pressed the heavy box into Morrigan’s arms before stepping back, looking around nervously as he flicked his tongue out.

The box was about three feet long, and two wide yet relatively thin but weighed significantly more than she was expecting. There was a card taped to the box that said “To our newest Inquisitor, from Yekku and the R&D team”.

“Awww, Yekku! Did you make me something?” Morrigan cooed as tears highlighted her eyes.

Yekku bobbed his head excitedly with a squawk, taking a single, nervous step forward.

“Well don’t keep us in suspense, open it girl!” Elliot called out, bringing the realization to Morrigan that the majority of the bar was now watching her.

She blushed and set the box on the counter as she stood, feeling herself sober dramatically after stumbling.

I gotcha kid, just enjoy yourself, Apollyon said with amusement highlight its tone of voice.

“Heh, thanks,” she mused bashfully as she separated the tight ribbon wrapped around the box and lifted the lid.

Everyone within eyesight of her face could see her eyes widen with glistening tears and a tight lipped, emotional smile.

Nora impatiently leaned over Morrigan’s shoulder and exclaimed, “Holy shit balls!”

What lay in a crimson velvet bed was a solid, massive, blackened 21-inch clip point blade with a built in 14-inch shotgun with a rotating cylinder attached to a gently curved handle. It was the most beautiful weapon Morrigan had ever seen, as she ran the tips of her fingers along the cold metal. In eloquent little slots held a holster with straps made to hold it centered to her back, as well as two rows of shotgun shells; a row of pellets and a row of slugs.

Dora even leaned forward to look and gave a surprised and deeply approving nod before glancing back at Yekku.

She wrapped her hand around the handle, slowly lifting it to realize it had to weigh at least 35 pounds however, with a touch of energy to empower her muscles, it became as light as a kitchen knife.

Damn… you know how I said you didn’t need a weapon; well, it may not cut through everything but even I can appreciate this!

She lifted the beautiful weapon above her head for all to see while she inspected the sleek design, her surrounding audience muttering their surprise at the design.

She turned to Yekku with gunblade in hand, “Did you really make this for me?” she asked nearly on the verge of tears.

Yekku nodded while nervously wringing his hands, giving her a questioning chirp as he flicked his tongue.

A single tear slid down her cheek as she dropped the blade down to her thigh and held out her other arm for a hug, “I love it sweetie, come here!”

Yekku lowered himself and slide right up to her, wrapping his arms around you and setting his long chin on her shoulder quietly chirping in her ear as she pulled his neck tightly against her.

Everyone clapped and cheered before people started shouting out requests to Yekku, who ignored them for the moment.

“This was so sweet of you baby boy, I will always keep this on me,” Morrigan hummed against his neck.

Yekku pulled away and started chirping and squawking excitedly which caused Morrigan to chuckle, “Yekku, you know I can’t understand you most of the time,” she pointed out while giving him a sweet smile.

He leaned around her and slipped his fingers underneath the velvet blanket and pulled out a folded piece of paper and unfolded it to shove in her face excitedly. She and Nora both laughed at his enthusiasm.

The paper turned out to be hastily written cleaning instructions with the schematic of the weapon printed on the back.

Fingering the lever she felt on the right side of the handle, she flicked her wrist and popped the cylinder out of place to reveal five polished slots.

Nora plucked the buck shot out of the case and handed them to her which she slid smoothly into each slot.

Xol stepped up next to them and placed a heavy hand on Yekku’s shoulder causing him to flinch since he had been so enthralled in watching Morrigan.

“Şev karê Yekku Kri’ket,” Xol rumbled with a proud nod.

Yekku gave a long chirp that sounded awfully close to a “thank you” before sauntering off to do his own thing, the Inquisitors vying for his attention to request their own custom weapons.

“That is an impressive piece of art,” Nora stated in appreciation before grabbing the holster from the case and holding out the straps.

Morrigan slipped an arm through before trading hands on the heavy weapon before slipping her other arm through the harness.

She passed the gunblade to Nora who nearly dropped it, “Jesus! You made it look so much lighter… then again, you carried my fat ass last night so I shouldn’t be surprised,” she mused as she held the weapon respectfully with both hands while Morrigan adjusted the straps and secured the lock around her stomach, gauging how the weapon would sit on her back before making another adjustment.

Morrigan smirked at her, “Well I’d carry that butt anywhere, I happen to like it a lot.”

Nora grinned before carefully sliding the weapon into the holster with a soft click.

When Morrigan turned to face Nora she asked, “How does it look?” as she reached and tested her reach against where the handle sat.

Nora did not say anything, but she did mouth, “I’m so wet right now,” leaving Morrigan blushing with a grin.

She looked to Xol who gave her a nod, “Hîştî çekân jê Mirina Sor.”

ΩΩΩ

The two weeks of waiting was torture for Morrigan. Her nervous excitement constantly overpowered the need to be patient even while she did her best to occupy herself with going over the ship schematics and the documents Solomon had given her.

Through the boredom of waiting, she had even had Nora help her dye a long strip of her hair bright white that would highlight the braid Nora put her now long hair.

She also spent a lot of time practicing with her new gunblade within the various training arenas throughout the Void Star. It gave her ample time to explore the hive world though very little differentiated between each zone respectively unless she delved deeper into the hive world.

All her nervous waiting came to a peak when she heard the chime of her data-slate that recalled her to the Cathedral.

She all but sprinted to the Cathedral as her excitement grew more and more dense knowing it was either the day to tour the Archangel or news that her family returned to her new world. Ever since her promotion, she finally felt truly alive again.

The slowly opening doors of the gargantuan church styled building moved too slowly for her liking and Morrigan pushed on one of the doors while feeding energy into her muscles. The resounding screeching sound echoed throughout the building as well as the surrounding area. Morrigan shrunk into her shoulders as she watched Solomon on the other side of the building cross his arms.

When she sheepishly strode closer, she called out, “Sorry!”

That earned a chuckle out of the older man as he shook his head. “It seems you have a thing or two to learn about patience, Morrigan. That's okay though, I'm delighted to see such excitement within you though I do request you try not to break my doors,” he said steadily with a smile on his face.

“Yeah… I'll do my best,” she murmured under her breath as she approached.

“Today we will be touring your new ship. There is however, one other thing I would like to show you first,” he stated before turning towards the statue that hid his office, only he did not walk towards that particular sculpture. Instead, Morrigan followed him towards a statue that sat three in on the left. It depicted a man brandishing an old-world revolver and wearing clothes of ancient western sheriffs.

“You have your badge I hope?” he asked glancing sidelong at her to which she nodded and patted her pocket. “Good, this only works if your badge is within close proximity. Each Inquisitor gets their own private office within the Cathedral for when they are upon the Void Star.”

She watched him turn the cylinder off the revolver the times to the right, five clicks to the left and two more to the right before the locking mechanism activated. Similar to how his entrance opened, the statue swung away to the left to reveal another ornate office space just as lavish as his own.

“It took some time to remove the prior Inquisitor’s personal belongings and reset the security parameters, though I think we finished just in time for today,” he pointed out as he watched her take it in.

They stepped in within her new space for her to look around as the door automatically closed behind them. She looked around in wonderment at the barren, cream colored walls accented by the large Inquisition symbol built into the far wall. Her desk looked no different than his own however, the noticeable difference was two clothing racks standing covered along the right wall next to an empty display case.

“What's that?” she pointed.

Solomon let out an amused breath and walked towards the racks, “Well, normally we would’ve discussed such a thing throughout the year if your promotion wouldn’t have been so sudden, but since it had; using the sizes you chose for your training uniform, as well as speaking to the R&D teams who had recently delivered a personalized weapon designed by one Yekku-Kri’ket. Which by the way, is very impressive. The demand for weapons similar to your own has given the S’randin you’ve brought quite a bit of fame to the R&D lab. Anyways though, I had Emily put forth the commission of your official uniform, though since we had no time to discuss it, we went with a more basic design for you to improve upon while on the Archangel,” he explained long winded, though she was happy Yekku had earned some notoriety.

She walked over and gave the first cover a tug to reveal a simple yet beautiful set of black cloth and leather outfit. The long-sleeved uniform shirt of leather and sateen fabric with master crafted straps and a simple metal breast plate to protect her torso, while the pants were a heavy cloth with dense leather sown into the vital areas of the thighs and function straps for clipping in weapons or tools. Similar styling to the other Inquisitors she had seen yet uniquely different.

“I think it’s perfect,” she said with a mesmerized smile.

Solomon snickered at that before gesturing to the second rack, “That's not even the best part.”

Her smile grew as she reached for the cover only for her smile to drop into a gaping expression of shock.

What was revealed was a cloak nearly as tall as her; thick black cloth lined with silver and gold intertwining trim and along the back on display was the imagery of one of her crimson claws, stained into the material in bright red.

“After reviewing much of your training, I felt it worthy of being your own insignia to highlight your individuality as an Inquisitor, seeing as it is a very iconic form of your abilities,” Solomon noted proudly.

Morrigan touched the material with tears in her eyes as she forced herself to breath. She had never expected anyone to treat her this well in her life. Since she was 16 years old, she had always expected to be pushing against wave upon wave of persecution the rest of her life and all of a sudden, after two years of mind shattering imprisonment, she found herself not only surrounded by people who adored and respected her but also an entire organization that believed in her individuality and beliefs; and she worked for them.

“Thank you… it’s perfect,” she forced out biting back tears.

She could see Solomon smile out of the corner of her eye, “I'll give you time to change, just meet me outside when you're done,” he stated before turning on his heels and exciting her office.

She could feel the pride radiating off of him, though she was unsure if it had been pride due to her accomplishments or pride in successfully making her cry tears of joy through lavish gifts, she was uncertain.

Going to point this out, that you don't really need that though a helmet wouldn't be a bad idea hehehe. I will admit though, that cloak is pretty sexy, Apollyon mused.

“I’m totally wearing it, need or not, I love it regardless,” she retorted with a deep sniff before stripping down to her underwear.

Upon adorning her new uniform, she was whole heartedly surprised to find it so comfortable. She had always thought leather would be uncomfortable yet the inner texture was soft, velvety and non-intrusive to her pleasant surprise.

The straps to her gunblade holster blended into the fabric perfectly as she began clipping the cloak into a nifty quick release slots hidden just underneath the breastplate before attaching the dangling, ornately weathered black metal chain from one end of the cloak to the other across her chest. To her surprise, it appeared that the cloak was specifically designed to not impede on the holster of her gunblade, leaving enough room between her neck and the center of her shoulder blades for the weapon to sit without risking cutting into the fabric.

She could not deny how the uniform made her feel: important, powerful, purposeful and even incredibly sexy.

She drew her gunblade from its holster and swung, drawing back and pushing a full thrust into a full back handed swing to gauge how her leather armor felt while swinging a heavy weapon.

Aside from a little tightness around the lower back and her upper shoulders, the uniform moved with her body quite well.

Her next test was air boxing in standard military form followed by various kicks and feints Simmons had taught her at a young age. She determined her leggings were really tight with her movement however, she knew they would loosen up rather soon, other than that, her uniform was perfectly fit for her.

She smiled before making her way out into the expansive interior of the Cathedral where Solomon stood patiently waiting.

“Look at that, you even look the part now, Inquisitor Clarke,” he mused to her with emphasis.

She grinned sheepishly before grabbing the hem of her cloak, “This is awesome Solomon… I really don’t know how to thank you properly for everything you’ve given me… especially in such a short amount of time no less.”

The Lord Inquisitor gestured for them to start walking before he spoke, “I saw something in you Miss Clarke…” he stated to garner her attention, “Upon our first meeting, I knew there was something deep down in the poor, broken shell of a girl I saw…”

He eyed her with a sidelong glance and a smirk as she listened intently, “I knew, that if given the opportunity, you could move the stars themselves if you so chose to. Beneath that tormented frame you stood against me in, I could see that you have that deep seeded empathy towards all living beings and the warrior soul of legendary proportions.”

Morrigan cocked her head to the side with confused curiosity, “How though? I mean… the only thing I did was attack you?”

Solomon chuckled as they walked, “You did do that and even though you claimed it was you who did not intend on going back to prison, I could easily tell you were more worried about Xol and Nora at your side, as well as the prisoners who followed you. Even after our short discussion you still worried about the prisoners you had never met before. That takes a special kind of person in this day and age but there is more to it than just that.”

Solomon looked skyward with a sigh and Morrigan followed his line of sight to see his massive Grand Cruiser that floated overhead against the distant nebula. Morrigan could not deny the beauty of the sight especially since her very own ship would sail the stars soon.

“I felt the power you possess Morrigan… I will admit, for a moment I was worried that you would break through my shield when you unleashed your attack, and frankly, I’m pretty sure you could now if you really tried… but your gift is unique and it’s the most unique people who make history. When I said that you hold a warrior’s soul, there is a very special meaning behind it…”

That drew her attention back to him.

“Many long dead cultures believed that the universe -or whatever they believed in, believed that every so often a being is born with the soul of a legend. Someone who would do great things at an even greater sacrifice to make the world a better place. I’ve always looked to the ancient forgotten cultures our species erased only a century ago, because I believe there is some semblance of truth in their mythologies… and I believe, in our time, that very person may be you, Morrigan.”

Morrigan’s eyes went wide at such a compliment. What Solomon was telling her was so grandiose she couldn’t believe that someone such as him could see something that extravagant in her, much less believe in it.

“I took a massive leap of faith in you, Miss Clarke. I allowed you to circumvent many of our procedures to fast track you into becoming an Inquisitor, normally the process is significantly longer than you’ve experienced, because I want you to spread your wings and go to the stars to do the good that you wish to do deep in your soul. I want you to gain the experience that can only be found in doing something rather than studying for it, to make allies, to find out who it is you really are and how you belong in this universe…”

Solomon sighed again, “The truth is, war is coming Morrigan, and not like we’ve been experiencing over the past four decades but true, total war. The Federation is making their move and pushing outwards and its only a matter of time before their war march pushes beyond the Terran territory and lands on our doorstep. We will need to be ready, you, will need to be ready. Until then, to answer your question of how you can thank me for putting such faith in you?” he stopped and turned to her.

She looked into his eyes, mystified as his face went from wistful to serious, “Be who I believe you to be. Prove me right about you, Mori. Deep down in the deepest pit of your soul there is a legendary warrior waiting to come out and bring prosperity to this savaged galaxy of ours. You do that, and I will be able to rest easy for the remainder of my days,” he finished before walking off, leaving Morrigan stunned beyond belief by his words.

After a moment for her gears to slowly turn again, she caught up with the Lord Inquisitor and they walked in peaceful silence as she tried to process the monumental bombshell he dropped on her.
