Chapter 2(Lynre)- A Fateful Encounter

Chapter 2(Lynre)- A Fateful Encounter

On her way to the Ogre Cave, she recounted her journey through the beta. Her goal was still the same, there was a purchasable item in the quick shop once you had reached level 10 that she wanted to buy. Not a single player during the beta had saved up enough gold to buy it, and she wanted it. It was a simple item called the Realm shifter, with a description composed of just three question marks. Nobody knew what it did, and She would be the first to figure it out if any, the biggest issue is that it was 1,000,000,000g and that would take a while. She lamented on her poverty as she walked towards the ogre cave. As she got closer, she realized something was wrong, someone was already at the cave quite possibly stealing all her exp and gold. Damnit, she shouted, breaking into a sprint towards the cave. Getting even closer, she could smell the blood and knew she was too late. She rushed into the cave only to find one of the old rankers sitting down looking through his loot. It was maxis, a guy who played as an assassin during the beta, and definitely someone who could pull this strategy off. Lynre and Maxis were on good terms with each other, so she simply greeted him. "Maxis you fucker, you're taking all my exp!" she proclaimed in a joking manner although she was plenty pissed. Maxis looked up at her and gave her a blank stare before putting on the widest grin known to man and bursting into laughter. "Haha, it's payback for all the times you stole my potions. Why are you so slow to get here anyways? you should've arrived before I had if you wanted this cave." Lynre knew he was right but wanted to hit him as hard as possible, though she resisted the urge. saying her goodbyes and walking out of the cave she started formulating another plan, and quick, as she didn't want to fall behind any of the old rankers. She had been slow to start the game, so it made sense why one of the other rankers would get to the ogre cave faster, she didn't know why she hadn't accounted for that. She quickly ran off further away from town, towards a gigantic forest that she knew would be good for her. Deep in the forest was a clearing that could spawn many root wolves, and although not as efficient as the ogre cave, she could catch up quickly by killing them. She walked for about 20 minutes before getting to the forest edge, she knew she would have to stay on guard after entering the forest, as the root wolves could appear at any time, and as soon as she had entered, a root wolf jumped out at her. She managed to dodge it just in time, but had to regain her footing. Quickly recovering her stance, she sprinted towards the wolf while it dived at her. Lynre sidestepped the wolf dive and drove her sword along the side of its body. She put its body in her inventory as it could be sold for a decent bit and continued walking towards the clearing. Group fighting on wolves would be somewhat difficult, but plausible with the potions...
