Midas opened his bag. The new VR system he had just bought came free with Valkynaun Online, and he couldn't wait to try it. He had hear big money could be made off of it, and that it was awesome. What reason is there to not try it? He thought. He booted up the system and started the player scanner. It had to scan his body type so it could put him in the game. In the game he could change his features, but he couldn't change his general body type due to the game being so close to real that it could throw off your sense of balance in reality. After scanning was done he didn't do much customization. He thought it would take to long, so he left it alone. The game loaded, as he soared the sky and suddenly he was met with a booming voice. "Welcome to the world of Valkynaun, traveler. This world will test you, and you must be ready to take on those tests. This world is not merciful to the weak, nor is it kind to the strong. Be wise warrior, and succeed with your own power." Midas landed in the middle of the plaza in the starting town of Alk. Bewildered by the introduction and amazed at how good the game looked he just sat there for a second, before bursting up and looking for the gates. Midas hadn't done much research into the game, but he did take a little bit of time to figure out the best starting strategy so he headed towards an orc encampment...
