The Overseer of the Central Collective drank his offer of tea and addressed the Aspirant who sat beside him. He smiled at the other man, of the final piece of the puzzle that would ensure that the Lord Arbiter W would have no choice but to conform with the rest of his operations. The man had embarrassed him in their last meeting, but the Overseer had ensured that such a thing could not happen once more, and this Ryan human was but one tiny cog in the machine that would ensure W’s return, one final contingency in case the Lord Arbiter did the impossible again.
“Do you understand what you must do?” the Overseer said as he another sip of his drink.
“Yes, sir!” the Aspirant replied.
“You will have my full support,” the Overseer continued, “And I will ensure that you will be the King of the future Human Aspirants once you are done with your training. No Aspirant shall be your match, even the Anomaly.”
“Thank you, sir! I have already memorized the Anomaly’s information and have taken the necessary first steps. My staff have been sufficiently briefed and will ensure that no mistakes are made.”
The Overseer smiled, he liked this Human, even if that insignificant lifeform was so woefully misguided, “Good, but never underestimate Aspirant Kim Jae-Hyun. You understand what would happen should you fail, yes?”

“Yes, sir!” the man said, “Your will shall be done!”
The Overseer got up from his chair and nodded, “Excellent! I look forward to seeing the results from you. The Lord Arbiter should be returning from his mission any moment now, so it would be best if you and some of your best men leave Pandora for the time being. There is much to do if you want to match up to the Anomaly.”
“Ryan hesitated for a moment, unsure if he was allowed to question anything that the god in front of him said, but he ultimately opened his mouth to ask, "Would it not be best for me to stay and hinder his operations here?”
The leader of the Central Collective laughed. This Human thought too highly of himself as if he could do anything at all to W, as if he wouldn’t be anything more than a minor annoyance to that legendary figure. But the Overseer didn’t voice that, it was best to allow the lesser species to think that they could, and although Ryan couldn’t do much to the Arbiter, he was a needed asset to reign in the Anomaly and his guild. Origin made this strange individual for a reason, and the Overseer needed to understand what that was.
“No, my little Aspirant,” he answered, “Your task is needed elsewhere. Pandora will fall, with or without you here, that much I am almost certain of. Your job is to deal with the aftermath because there will be fallout to manage, even if all my other plans are foiled.”
Ryan thought for a moment before nodding, “Yes, sir. I understand my role, I will not fail.”
“Excellent! Now get your people ready. You leave within the hour.”
The Overseer finished his tea and left the meeting room. There was still so much to do before W’s return from his impromptu Trial. Yes, the leader of the entire Central Collective will give the Lord Arbiter W a most thorough welcome back. He hoped that W would be ready for the storm to come.
