Chapter 19 - Emptiness of the soul

“…” Noah walked out from the store as he grabbed his head.

“It’s getting worse…” Said Noah.

“What is it?” Said Ai.

“My feelings…” Said Noah.

“It´s normal, since Azazel is the prince of wrath, is normal that you are drive by your emotions”

“That’s why I am here” Added Ai.

“How did you do that?”

“What?”

“You know, that”

“Oh, you mean, how did I calm you?”

“Yes”

“It’s one of my functions as your assistant”

“I see…”

“However, I can only do it because you are still a low-level demon, by the time you get to the sovereign level, I won’t be able to calm you, so you better start working in your emotions” Said Ai.

“Speaking about levels, you haven’t explained me about my rank, how much do I need to get to the monarch level, no, even more simple, how do I rank up?” Asked Noah.

“Mm… it’s a bit long but since we have time, let’s stop here”

Noah stopped and saw they were out of the mall district and was near a park.

He sat in a bench and took a bottle of water that he had bought on the way.

“When you and prince Azazel made the contract, you stopped being a human, you become a half demon, an hybrid if you might” Said Ai.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“I thought that I was a full demon”

“Not yet, you do have the potential though”

“Do you remember the first time you wanted to use [Aura]?”

Noah nodded, remembering the black hole.

“What you saw it was actually your own soul”

“My soul?”

“Exactly, your soul that become tainted by the touch of the devil. Contrary to angels that, the more lights are in your soul, the more talented you are, demons have darkness, the darker and empty your soul, the more powerful you can become, in your case, your possibilities are extraordinary, to say the least” Said Ai.

“However, this also comes with a problem”

“What problem?” Asked Noah.

“For any demon to increase your rank up, you must collect dark aura from your clients, the darker your soul becomes, the more powerful you can become, thus, ranking up in the process, in your case though, since you have a black hole and your soul is already as dark as it could be, you must… feed your soul with white aura, when you reach a certain level of fullness, you will eventually rank up” Said Ai.

“[White aura]? How do I get white aura?”

“As dark aura comes from the negative emotions, white aura of course, comes from positive emotions, in other worlds, you have to subtract the good emotions of your clients.”

“How… how do I do that?” Asked Noah.

Ai signaled at the mark of Noah.

“With that…”

“What?”

“You might haven’t notice… but you have been subtracting the good emotions of Samantha since you made a contract with her, thus, making your powers stronger” Said Ai.

“What!?”

“What did you think it was going to happen when you made a contract with a demon?” Asked Ai.

Noah was shocked.

It was true that he felt that he was becoming powerful, but he though it was because the more he used his power, the more powerful he could become.

“It’s not only Samantha though…” Murmured Ai.

“What was that?”

“Nothing, anyway, it doesn’t matter.”

“But about Samantha…”

“There is nothing that you can do about that… is part of the contract” Said Ai.

“…”

“Taking back the topic, your next step is to become a full demon, after that, it comes the servant level”

“After that it becomes the lord level”

“After the lord level, comes the sovereign level”

“And then, you can become a monarch… there are three more levels, but it doesn’t make sense to tell you now, when you get to the sovereign level you will eventually learn them” Said Ai.

“…”

“Just take your time” Said Ai.

“No, that isn’t what makes me feel… strange”

“Then?”

“Is that… after the first initial shock… I don’t feel anything”

“Not even a single speck of regret in what I am doing…”

Noah looked at the mark of his hand.

“What have I become…”

Ai sighed and floated in front of Noah.

“You become, what you should become”

“You are Unjustice”

With that Ai disappeared in thin air, leaving Noah, who had a lot to think about.
