Episode 9-Second Floor

“[ 5 Feral Goblin killed Obtained 25 Experience Points ]”.

“[Ding! You have leveled up!.]”.

“Leveled up again….my leveling speed..is quite fast..and just so happened that I gain my first title…thanks to these abundances of goblins…”.

The rate of my leveling up, is very fast even in the game standard, usually to get from level 1 all the way to level 8, one would take at least a full day, and yet here I am taking only a few hours to do so. Personally, the 1st floor barely gave any danger at all, the goblins' attack patterns were very predictable, and their strength was negligible, as for their defense, it was non-existent at all. Besides my combat style of dealing damage from afar, proved to be a bane to all goblins. They all either die before they can react, or just die as they get close enough to me, I enjoyed hunting them, I felt liberated after unleashing all the negative pent up emotion in me into killing them, I guess we never know how much we yearn for violence until we can let them out.

---------------------------------

Title: Feral Goblin Hunter

Rank: Beginner

Effect: Inflict 20% additional damage, when dealing damage to a goblin. Feral Goblins slightly fear you. This title can grow into (Master).(+1 STR )

Prerequisite: Kill 50 Feral Goblins.

---------------------------------

The title is obviously very helpful to have, as a veteran player of Lothenheim, I know about titles, there are many titles that one can get inside of Lothenheim, and it was a thing to be obtained, it was a must get, as it will not only give you a certain buff but also give you free Status attributes. Status attributes do not come with level-ups, the level-ups only come with Free points that can be assigned, so every point is very important, so getting one without spending anything is something that I can chase around to get. Another good news is that I have gained 2 new skills, which I don’t know that I could even get them, though I have some inkling that I might be able to get them.

---------------------------------

Skill: Modern Weaponry Mastery

Type: Passive (Unique)

Rank: Master

Effect: Inflict 50% additional damage, when dealing damage at any target. Improved ease of use, precision, recoil handling, and quickness, when handling modern weaponry.

---------------------------------

Skill: Close Combat

Type: Passive (Unique)

Rank: Advance

Effect: Inflict 40% Additional damage, when dealing damage to a target. Improved precision, ease of movement, fluidity, body control, reaction speed, and power.

Mastery: Martial Arts, Bladed weapon, Blunt Weapon.

----------------------------------

These 2 skills is actually just came up when I was about in the middle of my journey, right after I leveled up to level 5. Naturally these 2 skills are not something that had ever appeared in Lothenheim the game at all, instead, it felt like it was something that I always had within me, and just then the system decided to show me the details. Both skills add a flat rate of additional damage, which might seem lackluster, but it is actually very overpowered, 50% damage, which is enough to change a tide of battle. And since it was master rank, I know that there will be another level up, which is the Grandmaster.

For skills and magic, ranks are divided into 4, first, it was the Beginner then it went up to Advance, then to Master, and finally Grandmaster. At a Beginner level, one can be at the very basic of utilizing their magic or skills, as the ranks go up, one can expect the additional damage and ease of use. There is a stark difference in each rank, for example my Modern Weaponry Mastery skill, at beginner rank I would look like a normal person just barely knowing about guns, but in Master rank, I am handling weapons like some expert soldier that has served for decades of years, and that difference can be seen and felt by not just me, but everyone.

For my Skill Close Combat, this one in particular for me is quite intriguing, because it is actually a compilation of all of my combat experience, being labeled and compressed into one. In Lothenheim the game, usually skills related to combat usually standalone, like swordsmanship, blunt weapons, or martial arts, all of them usually are a single skill on their own, but my Close Combat actually combined it all into a single skill. The (Unique) tag and the the 40% additional damage also made me realize that my Close Combat skill, is actually a superior skill, one that is above the many combat skills in Lothenheim. If this skill were to increase in rank even more, then instead of becoming a monster of a single combat art form, instead I would become a master of all combat art forms, all of it only required a single skill.

“Another loincloth, leathers and dagger…..hmm?…this is something new…..”.

As always right after combat, I went to pick up all the loot left by the dead enemies. I saw the common drop as I did before this, but this time there is 2 drops that I had never seen before, one was a round crystal glowing in a white dimmed light, and another was a square box glimmering in blue light. So without a thought, I picked both of them with my two hands, each one on each hand. And throw it into my Inventory.

“Oh…the description updated….”.

Inside my Inventory box, each item took one box, the orb one is actually a Free Skill point, and the Square one is actually a magic spell, it’s Create Water, a Life Magic. I know this magic, it is actually a very simple magic that lets the user to create a drinkable Mana-rich water for a drink water and consume, and that was it. It was a low-level skill to have, but in terms of usability if is a good skill to have, at the very least you won't have to worry about being dehydrated in any situation as you can create water to drink or shower at any time you like. With that, I used both of the items from my inventory, for this type of item I can use them just from the inventory, it was as simple as that.

“At the very least…I got another new magic, though this one can be level up at all….then again it’s life magic…there is no use in leveling them up as they can’t be used for anything at all aside from their initial use…”.

For Life Magic, it cannot be leveled up as it was already

at its maximum potency, it was meant to improve quality of life and nothing else. So it would make no sense for it to be leveled up, Life Magic was created in Lothenheim the game, due to the request of many players, including myself. In a game where all the players who already finished venturing the entire world and were bored with fighting all sorts of stuff, when we wanted to be laid back and enjoy the in game slice of life content, everyone wanted that relaxation aspect to truly shine. But as the game respects realism, the developers expect the players to do everything like in real life, who wanted to go to the well to get water for daily use, again and again. So as a result, all players send in a petition for this purpose, and as a result, the developers gave us all, the players, Life Magic, a skill that can never level up but was favorite to all.

“...an entrance to floor 2…..that darkness is quite illogical…”.

With all the loot picked and used, as always I scouted the area again, making sure that there is no unprovoked surprise left for me, finally, I headed to the end of the cave room, and right at the end wall, I saw a staircase made out of natural dirt, and it is leading downwards, also for some reason I can’t see further down, it’s just 4 steps down and then just shrouded with a veil of unnatural darkness, a very game-like visual, that one can usually see when looking at in-game visual of this kind of stuff. It struck my humor code so, I smiled a little bit at the spot, but I didn’t stop there as I knew that I wanted to move forward, so I did.

I descended through the stairs and went downwards to the second floor, passing through it felt the same as I did when I first come into the dungeon, but it was less intense and passed a lot quicker. It is no longer a hurdle for me and I felt absolutely normal, though the odd part is, as soon as my entire body passed through that comical darkness, instantly I was already standing on a dirt ground, and right now the terrain before me, is the same as the first floor, it was dirt cavern, same scenery, lighting, sensations and also smells. I looked all around me and it was the same start as the first floor, I was standing at the beginning of a long cave hallway.

“What time is it now….00:15….that’s quite late…I guess I’ll be heading back for now….[PPD]…exit dungeon…Oh…so it is like this…Convenient….”.

As soon as I used my skill, a door appeared on the cave wall, right beside the staircase that I come down from. The door is clearly the same as my bedroom door, looks like from inside the dungeon I can use my skill to get out of the dungeon at any place and at any time I want, which is quite neat and as always I can use this to my advantage, possibly in the future. So, intending to end my exploration for today, I twisted the door handle and entered.

“Home again…Hah~…”.

As I passed through the door, instead of appearing in the living room, where I come in from before, I appeared inside of my bedroom, which is the other side to where I entered. So the logic was if I came from the outside, and used the door to get into my dungeon, when I exited the dungeon, in the real world I would then pass to the other side of the door. Now that is a very unique feature, that I can use a lot for my own benefit, I already tried locked doors, and if I cast [Personal Portable Dungeon] on it, I can open it at will, any lock cannot stopped me from using any door as I want.

“.…oh….I can use this for a lot of things…..now I definitely need to get to floor 5 A.S.A.P….Hmmm?…”.

“[DING!..You have explored and defeated all enemy in Floor 1….Enemy in floor 1 will respawn in 12 hours….Happy Adventuring~..]”.

“...Alright…with this I can keep farming my level without any worries that the dungeon might be dried up…great..”.
