-----Third person POV-----
Helios' arm shot forward like a bullet to meet the incoming blade, a loud clang resounded throughout the area as his hand and Veronica's blade made contact.
The sword vibrated in Veronica's hands causing them to slightly go numb. Without hesitation, she let go of the handle and jumped into the air and aimed a kick at Helios' head who dropped the sword in his hand and leaped back.
As soon as she made contact with the ground, Veronica dove for her sword and dashed at Helios. Seeing the incoming charge Helios smiled and easily sidestepped the queen, he stretched his hand backward and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck.
With ease, he lifted her up into the air and brought her back down heavily, her body impacted the ground and she sunk down a few feet.
Her mouth and eyes opened wide as spittle and tears rolled out of both of her mentioned orifices, Helios looked down at the gasping Veronica and snorted, he grabbed her by the throat and lifted her so that they were at eye level "Do you concede?" he asked lowly.
Veronica gasped for breath and struggled in Helios's grasp, her movements ceased, however, when he increased the pressure around her throat. With some difficulty, she nodded and Helios released her,she fell to the ground coughing and gasping "You fight like an amateur" Helios said as he looked down at Veronica who was rubbing her throat as she laid down on the cracked ground, she glanced up at him through teary eyes and croaked out "And you fight like a wild beast"
Helios snorted at her insult and waited for her to regain her bearings. He scanned the courtyard and noticed that there were a few armored individuals peeking at them from around corners, he sighed and looked back to the Veronica 'Maybe I should just leave' he thought as he looked up at the purple sky, the color didn't match the one in his memory.
Helios paused and held onto the thought that just crossed his mind, he stood confused as images of an unfamiliar place flashed through his mind, a place vastly different from the one he was currently in.
Suddenly, a mind numb pain assaulted his brain. Helios clenched his teeth and grabbed the sides of his skull, the pain gradually increased in intensity causing him to fall to his knees while wailing in agony.
A series of memories played in his head like old recordings, a face, hazel eyes and hair to match gazing at him with a smile on her pink lips, "I.....you.....M@!#^%$#" she said, her voice distorted as the memory began cutting in and out like an old cassette.
The memory cut off with a sudden flash, bringing him back to reality. Helios inhaled deeply with his mouth as the world came rushing back to him, he fell forward on his hands as he gasped for breath. His senses gradually returned one by one and with them came the sudden influx of noise and smells.
The screams and groans of agony surrounded him along with the smell of iron, Helios looked around and was met with the sight of carnage all around. The courtyard he and the queen were in was now in utter turmoil, the wall surrounding the training area was in pieces and beyond that, he could see mangled corpses and several other severely injured individuals laying unconscious on the ground.
"Calm down, young man" came a voice from beside him, Helios turned and saw the grizzled old face of Vulcan with his hand stretched out towards him "Peace, young Devorah. You are among allies" Helios looked up at him confused, he then noticed he had been surrounded by a semi-transparent blue barrier.
Another sudden flash of memory emerged in his mind, a confined space, metallic in nature, needles dug deeply into his skin and around his wrists, ankles and neck were metal restraints. He remembered struggling fiercely while shouting a name he could not quite remember hearing before but from judging the ferocity and vehemence with which he shouted the name, he could guess the person and him were not on good terms.
The memory suddenly shifted, he was still restrained but there was nothing over him. He was laying down on a cold hard surface and standing over him was the face of a Caucasian man with a big gray beard, his head was bald and his cold, green eyes examined Helios' naked body thoroughly, despite Helios' discomfort he could not move.
The man frowned and began talking to himself in a low voice "Patient displays signs of nigh unbreakable skin, along with the increased durability of the skin it would also appear that for some reason the patient is in a paralytic state" he paused "Further tests are required" and with that he turned to his side and picked up a scalpel, Helios' eyes widened in fear as the man brought the scalpel down on his face and stabbed into his left eye, Helios silently screamed as a stabbing pain shot through his brain.
The memory cut off and Helios found himself screaming while clutching his eyes, despite the fact the memory had ended, Helios could still feel the pain and anger radiating in his entire being.
"os.....ios....lios....Helios!!" A distant voice called out to him as he screamed in agony, it increased in volume as it gradually got closer until it was directly in his ear. Helios turned in the direction of the voice with some difficulty, a familiar yet unfamiliar face entered his vision, Helios squinted and tried to focus on the blurry face before him.
Gradually, his blurry vision cleared up and the face was revealed to him, an old man dressed in blue robes looked at him with worry "Are you okay young Devorah?" he asked Helios slightly panicked, Helios nodded while breathing heavily and slowly got to his feet, wincing during the entire process.
Looking around Helios hesitated to ask "What.....what happened?" the last few minutes were a blur to him but from the sounds of agony resounding from around him he could tell there must have been an attack or something similar.
Vulcan hesitated for a moment as he contemplated telling Helios about the events that transpired during his....blackout, noticing his hesitation Helios grabbed him by the shoulders and asked him again with a firm tone "What happened here Vulcan?Who did this?"
Vulcan looked slightly reluctant to reveal the information but eventually he sighed and relented "after your spar with her highness you suddenly began screaming and firing magical blasts from your eyes, I had to quickly cast a barrier around you to contain the blasts and prevent you from causing any more destruction.....I know you did not purposely do this" Vulcan added to make sure Helios knew that he didn't blame him.
Helios' eyes went wide in shock, his mouth slightly gaped as the revelation hit him like a truck, he had caused all of this destruction, all this death.
His knees buckled under him and he fell to the groud with a heavy thump, he stared at the devastation before him in silent horror "This is all my fault" he whispered "I did this" he continued, his eyes travelled along the bodies of the corpses and wounded individuals as well as the soldiers and citizens helping them, a hand landed on his shoulder and squeezed gently, Vulcan's voice followed "It was not your fault" he said.
The kind words of Vulcan could not ease the guilt Helios was feeling, the death and destruction he had inadvertedly caused weighed heavily on his mind. The hard truth hit him 'He could not control his gifts completely', he needed practice and he needed it fast.
Slowly, Helios got up and turned to Vulcan "I......I need some time alone" he said before he shot off into the pale purple sky, the air made a cracking sound as he took off in the direction of a forested area barely visible in the distance.
