-----Third person POV-----
Helios spent a week helping the citizens of the kingdom rebuild their houses and businesses. As he was speaking to a feline beast woman, Vulcan approached him and told him the Queen had requested his presence.
Saying his farewell to the beast woman, he and Vulcan made their way towards the Palace. Stationed outside the gates were two guards who upon seeing Vulcan opened the gates immediately and with a nod from Vulcan the gates closed behind them.
Vulcan began explaining to Helios what he must do when addressing the Queen, the more Vulcan explained the more Helios felt that he would be unable to do what was required. As they arrived at the now fixed doors to the throne room, a short, plump man glanced at them with his half closed uncaring eyes
"Master Vulcan" he bowed slightly towards Vulcan while simultaneously glancing curiously at Helios. Vulcan noticed the two eyeing each other and quickly stepped in "This is Helios, the queen has requested his presence" nodding at Vulcan's words, he pushed the door.
"Your Majesty, Grand Primus Vulcan and Sir Helios wish for an audience" the pudgy man said as all the voices in the room.
"Let them in" her voice was void of emotion as she replied to the fat man. Receiving permission to enter, Vulcan and Helios made their way through the crowded throne room towards the elevated throne.
Arriving at the foot of the throne, Vulcan went down on one knee and bowed his head to the Queen, Helios glanced at him and nodded to the Queen.
His actions immediately caused the room to erupt into hushed conversations, it was obvious the individuals in the room disapproved of his lack of respect towards the Queen.
Vulcan seeing the situation devolving quickly rose to his feet and lightly tapped his staff on the floor, a weak shockwave spread from the area of impact and silenced the crowd allowing the Queen to speak.
"The man standing before you.......is the man who single-handedly drove away the invading Dolarians, I would have expected you all to be more grateful to your benefactor"
The Queen's stare swept over everyone in attendance which silenced the pompously dressed women. Helios was impressed by the Queen's choice of wording which not only defused the situation and got him respect but also explained who he was while simultaneously giving them a vague understanding of his power level.
"Helios Delorah, for your accomplishment of defending the kingdom, you will be rewarded fifty thousand platinum for your service; additionally you have been granted the title of citizen and a manor"
Murmurs spread throughout the room as the queen finished rewarding Helios, besides being slightly confused about his new supposed last name, was quite satisfied with how things played out.
Suddenly, he heard a voice ring out in his mind 'we need to talk, remain behind after the gathering is over if you don't mind', curiously glancing at Vulcan and wondering how he accomplished such a feat, Helios nodded his head slightly but remained quiet.
The gathering went on as the queen brought up topics such as fortifying the outer wall surrounding the commoner district to which an armored female stepped forward and volunteered to oversee the repairs, the meeting went on like this until the queen adjourned them when the sun had begun to set.
"Follow me, Helios." Vulcan said as he began walking down a hallway further away from the one the women were taking. They soon came to an iron door which seemed to be missing a knob, and from the looks of it, also a key hole. Helios began wondering how they would enter when Vulcan touched the door with his staff causing it to light up with various colors.
With a loud groan, the heavy doors opened slowly revealing rows upon rows of items sitting atop short stone columns. "What is this place?" Helios wondered aloud, "This room is simply called, The Vault. The Queen's Mother made this for her husband who kept bringing back strange trinkets and weapons on his adventures." Vulcan replied without missing a beat, Helios's head swiveled left and right, curiously taking in the sights.
His sight set on a strange necklace with a small black pendant of a head with a wide open mouth, Helios walked towards the pendant and stretched his hand out towards the necklace when it suddenly flew straight into his hand.
"Strange" Vulcan's voice suddenly sounded from beside him, Helios looked at him curiously and raised a brow as he silently asked: 'How is it strange?' "The barrier should have incinerated your hand as soon as you made the motion to take the necklace, I'll need to check the barriers before I leave, come come!"
Helios glanced back at the barrier for a second before he followed after Vulcan, "Why have you brought me here?" he asked Vulcan.
Vulcan stopped and slowly turned around, his pale blue eyes seemed to bore holes in Helios as he examined him "The Queen has requested your presence" he said before turning back around and continued walking before speaking again "But the throne room has many eavesdroppers" he stopped in front of a blank white wall and gently poked it with his staff, the wall suddenly turned translucent and shimmered out of existence revealing a brightly lit room with a circular table and several chairs surrounding it .
Vulcan stepped to the side and bowed slightly to Helios "After you" he said and gestured for Helios to enter, with his eyes scanning for threats but not seeing any obvious signs, Helios hesitantly walked into the room.
Observing the room, he looked back at Vulcan who had entered just behind him and smirked "Cozy place, do you bring all your girls here?" he asked, Vulcan ignored Helios as he went and stood beside the biggest chair in the room.
Helios opted to not take a seat so he walked to a wall and leaned against it and folded his arms while closing his eyes, several minutes passed before the clanking of metal against concrete could be heard coming towards the room.
A few moment later the queen stepped into the room followed by a few guards covered in white full plated armor, she nodded towards Vulcan before taking a seat in the chair he stood beside "Where's H-" as she was about to ask about Helios' location she saw him at the corner of the room leaning nonchalantly against a wall.
"You may take a seat Helios," She said to him but he just waved his hand dismissively and continued leaning on the wall. Seeing him refuse to take a seat the queen nodded and began
"Let's start with introductions, my name is Vanessa Delorah, Third bearing the Delorah name and last remaining member of the Delorah bloodline.........excluding you" Hearing her introduction and the end of her sentence Helios' eyes snapped open and appeared before Vanessa in an instant, her guards immediately drew their swords out of their sheaths but Helios paid them no mind.
His face showed none of the anger he was feeling but his eyes gave him away, they lit up like lanterns in the night as he thought about what Vanessa had just said "If, and I do mean IF....you're saying what I think you're saying......you and I will have a problem"
Helios' voice was eerily calm as he enunciated each of his words and gnashed his teeth at the end of his sentence. Vanessa, despite being the object to which his anger was directed, kept her face impassive and her attitude nonchalant
"I understand your anger Helios but I alone cannot keep the people safe. Granted, bonding with you was not the only way I could accomplish that goal but it was the most desirable path at the time"
Helios took a moment to analyze his situation, from what he had seen from Vanessa she was not the type to rush into anything unless she had no choice and given the recent Delorian attack she certainly didn't have a choice but to seek aid from someone more powerful than herself.
His eyes dimmed somewhat although they still contained plenty ferocity, Helios glared at her with righteous fury and she sat there and unblinkingly matched his gaze with her own.
Allowing a small smile to play across his lips, Helios' eyes trailed down the Queen's body and rested on the sword at her hip, pointing at the sword he asked: "Is that just for show?" Vanessa followed his gaze and answered stoically "The Delorah clan is one of warriors, our path is one of the sword"
'Perfect' Helios thought as he grabbed Vanessa by the waist and disappeared from the room leaving a stunned Vulcan and five panicking guards
-----several minutes later-----
The figures of two individuals appeared seemingly out of thin air in an empty courtyard, one of the two figures which appeared to be dressed in an armor of white stumbled forward before regaining her balance.
Of course, the figures were Helios and Vanessa who, after taking several wrong turns, arrived at the training grounds. Glaring at Vanessa, Helios rotated his shoulders and cracked his neck before clenching and unclenching his fists resulting in a pop of air from the force of the action.
Vanessa closed her eyes after staring at Helios for a few moments and inhaled slowly, she drew her sword out its sheath as she slowly exhaled and took a stance.
Although Helios did not voice his intentions, his posture and attitude were abundantly clear. Nonetheless, if it was a fight he desired it was a fight he was going to get.
The two stood several paces away from each other carefully watching each other for any movement, the battle had already begun, a war of wills so to speak.
Suddenly the ground under Helios' feet formed webbed cracks and he disappeared from his position immediately appearing above Vanessa with a maniacal smile on his face
His fist descended swiftly with his body following closely behind causing the wind to whistle around his form, Vanessa leaped backward in an attempt to put some space between them, unwilling to engage in a battle of strength knowing Helios clearly had the advantage.
Helios' fist connected with the stone, they shattered under the pressure and turned to fine dust. The powdered stone slowly floated around his form only showing a shadowy silhouette which slowly rose from a kneeling position.
His shadowy figure stood still within the dust cloud and Vanessa knew better than to rush in as the dust would only lower visibility. Helios, however, was not too keen on another game of patience and gathered energy towards his eyes causing them to shine bright red.
Vanessa, seeing two bright glowing orbs knew what to expect and quickly dove out of the way just in time as two bright red beams incinerated the dirt where she previously stood. Rolling to her feet, Vanessa quickly brought her sword in front of her chest just as Helios' fist connected, forcing her back by several meters.
She struggled to keep her balance as she stumbled back but thankfully Helios chose not to attack her and allowed her to get back into stance.
Vanessa closely observed him, despite his relaxed posture with his hands hanging loosely at his sides, she saw no way she could attack him and come out unharmed. Resolving herself to take a beating, Vanessa's grip tightened around the hilt of the sword and shot off at Helios with her sword high above her head.
