Amethyst, a bright and colorful purple gem, normally around 2 inches wide and about the same in height. But this gem, this one was noticeably different. Around 4 inches in height and maybe an inch and a half in width; and alive! This little Amethyst was alive. Not only living but a person, a very small person indeed. Amethyst was a gorgeous young girl, a petite and very beautiful fairy. A garden fairy, in a beautifully woven maple leaf dress dyed bright purple, her eyes purple, and even her wings were purple. You wonder why she’s called Amethyst still? I hope not.
She grew up long before us, before your parents, and even before your grandparents! Amethyst was a relatively young fairy for her village, turning 150 in only a few months. She got so excited about her upcoming birthday she just had to grow some strawberries. Strawberries were Amethyst's favorite food! All day she worked on her strawberries, her little feet walking around the somewhat giant vines around her. Her brunette hair flowing in the wind, she had to constantly push her bangs aside just to see. As her birthday approached, Amethyst would fly in large amounts of water from a nearby river and moisten every single plant individually. Each time, more exciting than the last.
She loved what she did, with such a passion the whole village knew it! An oak tree just filled with fairies, each one with a different role to keep everything running smooth. The queen, of course, ran everything of importance and kept everyone in line. But Amethyst didn’t need to be put in line, she was so shy she almost never talked to anyone. Minding her own business, tending to her garden alone every day of her life. She would water her garden every day just like the last, every time with a large and bright smile on her face. She dreamt of one day showing her parents how beautiful of a garden she’s grown. All kinds of gorgeous fruits and vegetables, polished and cared for so carefully. But showing her parents would be hard, since showing the dead isn't always easy.
Amethyst always kept to herself, never getting too social for she thought it would disrupt her work, she did feed most of the village afterall. Amethyst didn’t speak much either, that was until one day, a handsome and somewhat younger fairy fell into her grapes very abruptly. That was the day Amethyst’s world was turned upside down forever. An adventure she would never, ever forget!
Chapter One: First Meet
It was not long before her birthday, Amethyst was running around the vines, swinging from stem to stem with gallons of water floating above her. She would leap from plant to plant watering every inch of green she could see. Nearly out of breath and very exhausted from a long day of weeding and watering, Amethyst dropped the last bit of water around the squash and fluttered her purple wings over to the grape vines, dropping down to the soil and taking in a deep breath. Amethyst smiled as her heart rate began to subside. Another hard day's work done and she could now rest. Her small pale hands laid gently against the grape as she smiled at how beautiful they looked. Bright purple, nice and ripe, and very juicy grapes she had grown herself. She sat upon a grape as a chair and leaned against the vine, finally relaxing, or at least she hoped to. But no, she couldn’t have sat for thirty seconds until something crashed and startled her. A ball of blue ripped through the leaves above her head, seemingly hurtling straight for her. Amethyst looked up just in time to see a bright blue thing coming straight for her. Her eyes shot open and she quickly, without hesitation, dove into the wet soil. With an echoing crash, the blue ball landed inches from her feet. Soil launched in every direction and all over the newly polished grapes, Amethyst’s heart sank as she slowly sat up, her stomach felt like it was down to her knees, and all she could hear was the piercing scream “YEAH BUDDY! WE GOTTA DO THAT AGAIN!”

As Amethyst sat up, so did the blue ball. At first she was very confused as to why this ball was moving, until she quickly realized it was a fairy. A bright blue boy stood up from the wet dirt and smirked, covered in soil from head to toe. Amethyst slowly gathered her balance and looked around at her now very dirty grapes. “W-What...What did you do?” She mumbles, feeling sick to her stomach. “WHAT DID YOU DO?” Her loud voice echoed from leaf to leaf across the garden. The blue man jumped back, startled and unaware he had landed near her grapes.
“Woah girl, for a garden fairy you’ve got quite a voice. Sorry about your grapes, some friends and I were messing around with my new catapult. My name's Sean, I’m a tinker, nice to meet ya lassie.” And Sean gently stuck out his soil covered hand for her to shake.
Amethyst sighed in sorrow and gently raised her arm, but not to shake his hand. As she gently pulled her hand close to her, Sean could hear the vines around him begin to shake. Water cascaded down from above and Amethyst began waving her hand in every which direction. Water swiftly moved across the grapes, polishing them once again. Amethyst, now hovering the water in front of her and Sean, softly spoke, “W-Wash your hands please, I prefer a clean hand to shake Sean. My name is Amethyst. Y-You can call me Misty.”
Sean smirked and stuck his dirty hands into the orb of water. “Well Misty, that’s a pretty nice trick you’ve got going on.” He said as he rubbed his hands clean in the orb of water.
“Thank you.” She said with a shy yet faint smile on her face.
As she dropped the water and it quickly fell to the ground, Sean had completely forgotten to shake her hand. He was already lost and dazed. Lost in her beautiful purple eyes. “W-Would you like to see the contraption I made? If you want we could get some juice after at my place? It’s the least I can do for...uh...you know...messing up your garden” He asked politely with a growing smile on her face.
Amethyst shook her head “N-No thank you, I don't get out much. I have fresh juice all around me. But thank you”
Sean chuckled once more, looking around at the beautiful array of grape vines. “Then I guess I’ll just have to come by tomorrow and ask again, maybe you’ll think it over. See ya ‘round Misty.” And Sean flew through the vines back to his friends, a smile grew as the little garden fairy shrunk in the distance.
