Chapter Lei And Vyra

Chapter Lei And Vyra

FIRST RING and Liam picked up the call. I even heard noises on the other line as if someone is going crazy.

“Where the heck are you? Your brother Nico is so pissed. He’s breaking every glass here because of the thought that you were abducted!”

I couldn’t immediately answer Liam’s question. I feel like he was just acting

“You’re terrible at acting, Liam.” I heard Nico’s voice in the background.

“Piss off. Take care of Lei.”

I heard them talking that made me guilty.

“Where are you, Lei? I’ll pick you up.”

“Nico, I’m so sorry if I didn’t ask for permission when we go out. I thought we will finish our shopping soon.”

“So you’re with Vyra. That’s good to hear. Liam asked for help from the police and search and rescue team.”

“Shut the fuvk up, bro. Where are you Lei? We’ll get you.”

I don’t know where exactly this place is. “Ahm, I’m not sure where this is. Vyra drove us here. Can you at least track her GPS? My phone is- oh shit! Why now?”

My phone is drained.

I look at Vyra who can’t even sit straight. Her head is swaying back and forth so I lean her head on my shoulder. I get her bag and search for her phone. I saw it immediately but it was turned off.

“I hope it has a battery.”

I turned it on and thank god, it’s full. It appears that she was planning not to talk with Liam the whole day.

As I was browsing on her phone to look for her beloved fiancé’s number when someone called. The caller’s name is “Gay.”

Shit!

This is not the time for gossip. I rejected the call however, it called again. My blood boils for whoever is calling. I clicked the answer button and shout at them.

“Hello, Vyra is not available at the moment, so fuvk off-“

“Ashene Lei, it’s me, Liam.”

I want to laugh at Vyra’s silliness for giving Liam that kind of contact name, but Liam heard me swear so I better shut up now.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Hey, stay where you are. We’re on our way!” he continued when I didn’t utter a single word.

“Please be safe, you stubborn sister. I assume you’re in a bar by that freaking background noise. Punch anyone who tries to approach you. Until we get there, try to be safe.”

“Thanks, Nico. Be safe on your way, too,” I said. I need to watch my words, hoping their anger will subside.

“What is Elvyra doing?” Liam asked.

I almost forgot about her. I look at my side to see what she is doing, but she wasn’t there. I saw her on the dance floor with another guy.

I shake my head in disappointment.

“Lei, what’s going on? Where’s Elvyra?”

I ended the call and went where Vyra is. I pushed the man as hard as I can.

“Get your hands off of her, jerk!”

I pulled Vyra back to our table. I grab our bags and was about to leave the place when the man appears.

“I think I like you more than that drunken lady. A fighter,” he said and seductively lick his lips which I find disgusting.

I tried to hide my fear because if I didn’t, I felt like I'll end up ripped into shreds.

Where are my brothers?!

Even though I cannot handle Vyra’s heaviness, I tried to find our way out of this crowd. I didn’t bother about what happened to the man.

“Vyra, get a hold of yourself, will you? Walk properly! You’re heavy,” I shouted at her.

I really want to punch her to sober her up.

The front door is just a few steps away. Just a little more and we’re out. But it wasn’t easy. People are smoking near the entrance.

I cannot handle cigarettes.

I can feel my stomach rumbling inside. Any moment now, I will puke. I started coughing.

“Vyra, help me here!” I manage to speak.

I am losing my strength but we have to get out of here. And when we do, luck is not with me tonight.

It is raining heavily.

People are making out, too, at the entrance.

A sudden realization came to me. if Vyra used to hang out here with her friends and she was like this when she was drunk, who took care of her?

Is she like this bitches kissing random guys?

I want to leave her here. I am regretting that I became associated with her. I should have distanced myself. She doesn’t deserve to be Liam’s fiancé. I don’t want her to be part of my family!

“Lei…” she sobs as she mumbled my name. “I’m sorry.”

“What for, bitch?!” is she sober now?

“My friends used to leave me here. They don’t like how conservative I was, and they leave me with random guys. But Liam was always there for me. We’ve known each other even before…”

My head is spinning, I don’t understand everything she said.

“He told me to leave you alone but you are my future sister-in-law. How could I leave you, right?”

I just want to get out of here. Before I knew it, I was walking in the rain while Vyra is still talking. She is still hugging me which is slowing me down.

“Bitch, walk straight!” I said. My eyes are blurred. All I know is I am heading straight to where the car is.

I am starting to feel cold. I am wet from the rain, and the strong sea breeze makes it hard for me.

Fuvk! Being with Vyra turns me into a stupid gal.

Wanting to get away from the area because of the smoke and rude men, I gave in to the rain.

Well, if anything bad happens to me, I am not left to suffer alone. As Vyra said, I’m a devil.

When we get to the car, I leaned Vyra there. I absentmindedly search for the car keys in her bag.

I wonder how and why, but I found myself drifting to sleep as I lay my head on the backrest.
