I WHAMMED the table to get Vyra’s attention.

“Nico,” I answered and take a sip from my iced tea. I choked when I realized what she just said, “wait, what?!”

I feel like I have to worry about my brother than Vyra who is now walking straight to him.

I can hear Vyra from here. I saw Kuya Nico gawked. I laughed at the back of my mind.

The girl with Nico is now crying.

Whispers of different opinions filled the air. I saw one employee hesitating to come near them.

Somehow, I’m rooting for Vyra to not lose, even though she shouldn’t be doing this.

She stand up straight, composed.

I saw the girl was stunned and look at Nico. “Sister? You have a sister?”

I just notice that Nico is not trying to stop Vyra nor explain to his girl. He might be looking for a reason to break up with her and then Vyra walked in.

Yup, I will think it that way. I know for sure, that Nico will scold me for not making things clear with Vyra.

I look at her until she got out of the place, crying.

I look at Vyra and Nico.

Because of Vyra’s words, whispers became louder and their opinions are all against Nico.

I stand up and am ready to get out of the place quietly. I can feel a storm coming.

I run out of the food court. I don’t want to be associated with her any longer.

I call for a cab. I was about to get in when I heard Vyra’s scream. I looked back at her only to see her living her dreams. She is in Liam’s arms, in a bridal carry.

I apologized to the driver and hurried to where Vyra and Liam are.

I thought Vyra will be happy. Her face is so red and she looks so scared and about to cry.

“What happened?” I asked.

“What is this nonsense, Lei? Why are you running? You are no longer a kid to play around in public. I almost hit your friend!” Liam yelled at me.

I unconsciously diverted my eyes at their back and saw Liam’s car.

He gently put down Vyra. “I’m sorry. Do you want me to bring you to the hospital? Just to make sure that you’re not injured or something. You fell after all.”

“I-I’m fine. Thanks. But Ash and I have some business to attend to. You can put me down now. I will fall hard if you don’t.”

In fairness to this girl. She is so composed in front of my brother, but that just makes me laugh. What’s with the “put me down now?” when she is the one who is not letting go of Liam’s neck?

And Liam is patiently waiting for her to let go of him.

“Again, I’m sorry.”

I ignore Liam’s words because I was busy pulling Vyra away from him.

“If you need anything, feel free to tell Lei.”

“Why me?!” I snarl even though I didn’t quite understand what he said. I just heard my name.

“So you can tell me afterward.” He is now holding Vyra’s hands.

“Why not directly to you?” I stopped talking and look at Vyra. She has this smirk on her face and I can imagine her telling me, she owes me this. I immediately take back my words.

“Ok, I’ll take care of her. If she had fractures, I will break her bones even more. Now go, Liam. What are you doing here anyway?”

I even push him away however, he didn’t move an inch.

“Tsk! I feel like I cannot trust you with this,” Liam said. He get his calling card from his inside pocket and gave it to Vyra. “Call me if you need anything. I got to go. Take care.”

I wait until Liam’s car is out of sight, and face Vyra. “What happened?”

“Bitch, how dare you asked what happened?! I was at the death’s door so everything was fine, mm-mm.”

She started to walk away. I feel guilty. I caught her hand and force her to face me.

“What?!”

“I’m concerned-“

“Wow! Just wow!” She is being sarcastic, I don’t even know if she is serious or joking right now. “Well, let me make things clear with this small head of yours, Ashene Lei Castro. I almost died. Why did you run? I go after you as fast as I can because I’m afraid you’re gonna hit by a car. It turns out, I was the one in danger.”

I was shocked. And before I realized everything, I was left alone in the middle of the road.
