Minutes passed by like this, just zooming past everything.
I tried to focus on the views we were passing by, but it was too hard to see anything, he was simply running too fast for my vision to catch up.
I instead looked at the man that had kidnapped me.
His strides were long, and every time he swung his arms back he created a wind current, which pushed him forwards. When his feet touched the ground it made a small impact into the dirt, and it propelled him at an amazing speed. I could only stare in amazement at these two factors working together to exceed known limitations of the human body.
How does he do it? Running at these inhuman speeds would have split your entire body apart. Your muscles, skeleton, nothing in our body is designed to run like this. I mean, even animals cant run as fast as this. I don't even know if you can call it running anymore. I stared with wide open eyes so as to not miss a single detail.
Truly magical. However...
I hesitantly looked away from the dilemma and laid down on my back on the strange cloud thing. I stared up with blank eyes.
I sighed, these wondrous and strange things that are happening do not overshadow the dark cloud hanging over me.
What will he do to me? This insane man that summoned a fireball and kidnapped me by magical means. I doubt he will be kind to me when he has been that forceful.
I should have just stayed away. But, I would have died anyway, at least I wouldn't be capable of surviving if I were to be in the forest without food and water all alone. At least now I have seen things that will stay with me for a life time. The floating ball thing, this man that can run as fast as superman and he can even make me float.
It might be a mystery forever, it might be something I will never see again. If that would be the case, it would be sad for my curious spirit.
"We have arrived." Said the strange man. Even though his words should have been caught by the wind, his voice still reached my ears.
Suddenly, we slowed down to a screeching halt. I expected to be thrown head forward with blistering force, but, instead it seemed like that force was absorbed by the thing I was floating in.
I looked ahead and found a strange little building decorating my view.
"This is my magnificent abode!"
He spun around with one clean motion and looked at me.
"Oh, what a blunder. I apologize."
He bowed down in an exaggerated manner.
He righted himself in an instant, not staying down for even one second.
"No worries, you won't be up there forever." He let out a little chuckle at the sight of me spinning around.
He pointed at me and pointed down to the ground.
And slowly but surely I was lowered down until I could stand on solid ground. Well, I couldn't stand, the best I could do in my condition was to kneel. Even if I did feel a bit better after resting in the cloud I am still dehydrated, hungry and out of energy.
I looked at the man. I might have been through several death or life situations but I still couldn't help fearing for my life so I forced myself to speak even through the pain I felt.
"What are you going to do with me?" I spoke submissively, making sure not to anger him.
His eyes widened and he looked at me with a grin
"You speak without my mingling? Fantastic! And you actually do speak this language. Interesting..." He pondered for a few seconds.
"As to what I will do with you... You will just have to find out."
His eyes sharpened and he looked at me. He's always smiling, but this time he actually looked serious for once.
What?! Acting so mysterious! What the hell is he going to do to me?
My head hung low, I started despairing already. Several thoughts went through my head and none of them seemed good.
Why does nothing go right for me?!
When we first met I thought I finally found a decent person and I had hope that the future would look brighter, but I was mercilessly proven wrong.
Maybe it would have been better if I was eaten by that bear instead, I wouldn't have to go through any more pain.
Through all the emotions, all the stress, the fear. I could no longer suppress it and it exploded out, releasing a burst of emotions.
I powered through the pain and tried to stand up. My bones were creaking and blood vessels were bulging out as I used every ounce of strength in me to stand.
Tears started streaming down my face as I picked up a sharp sturdy stick as I was getting up.
The man watched me with slight shock, he couldn't believe that a normal mortal had the strength to stand after seeing what state I was in.
"You. Are so entertaining!" He joyfully hollered.
I couldn't hold my promise... Are you up there? I'll be coming, just wait a second...
I hid the stick beside my hip so that he wouldn't see it. I looked at this strange man with a side glance.
He watched with abated breath and was waiting for my next move. He didn't expect me to be wielding a weapon however.
Suddenly I tensed my muscles and swung the stick toward my chest, right where my heart was.
The spectator realized what I was going to do and started running over to stop me.
But he was too late to stop me as the sturdy stick was already entering my flesh.
Usually its hard to meet the conditions to have a stick be able to penetrate the skin and muscles deep into the body, but this stick met all the prerequisites. It was like heaven was helping me meet my death!
With all my coordination and muscles, the stick entered into my chest creating a small wound not bigger than 3 cm in diameter. I was hoping to strike my heart so I can experience a swift death. However I quickly felt resistance as I hit the bone protecting my organs.
"Ah" I coughed out blood and started feeling faint as I lost a moderate amount of blood. The pain penetrated deep into my body and paralyzed me, making me fall to the ground.
I missed my heart, all I managed to do was bleed a bit. Damn it.
The man frowned as he looked down upon me.
"You! You insane little man. I swear these younglings today don't know whats good for them. Haaa, I'll do you a favor for now mortal, because you are so interesting."
He jabbered as he started waving his arms around while coming closer to me.

I stared into the air as I heard this robotic voice, almost slapping myself heavily in the leg.
I actually almost forgot about this nanobot AI! Of course it is programmed to not let the host die. But at this moment I want to die! According to the injury report this AI gave me, it is very unlikely for me to die to these measly wounds, I didn't even manage to successfully hit my heart.
I took a glance at the hateful man standing there greatly focused.
What is he doing? Whatever he's doing it's probably nothing good.
I looked down at the stick that penetrated my chest, I grabbed onto the stick and pulled it out with determination. Pain spread throughout my body as I lay on the grass, almost fainting.
The fog in my mind however seemed to be lifted after almost killing my self or at least I was determined to. It was an experience that made me enjoy the beauty in life and made me determined to continue living. In fact, thinking about this mysterious power of his made me so excited to the point that my heart was beating faster, thus my blood was seeping faster out of my wounds.
I have never truly been more excited in my life than at this point. On Earth you would have a lot of time growing up with all the technological advancements around you, so there is no feeling of being truly excited when something minor gets discovered or created. Perhaps if I could experience the time when Einsten made his famous special and general theory of relativity. Or if I could travel back to Isaac Newtons time, that would truly be exciting.
But nothing is as magical as actual magic! This was something I could only read about in novels back on Earth!
Now that I think about it. Even if there are horrifying beasts and barbarians in this world, what if I could be able to wield this mystical power? Then I would have no fear for these beasts and barbarians! But, the problem is that I don't know where to learn or how to be able to do it. I certainly don't think this terrifying monster in front of me would teach me something like that.
As I was thinking about my future prospects the man finished doing whatever he was doing and then dramatically lowered his hand to point towards me. I started feeling weird as if a formless energy was twirling around me, I could feel it brush against my skin and enter into my wound causing me to let out a weird moan.
What the hell is this?!
I stared down at my gaping wound and saw it slowly closing, it was quite unbelievable. But, seeing is believing so I can only accept that this man is actually healing me!
Continually seeing these miraculous feats made me less likely to gasp in surprise every time I witnessed another magic display. However, this does not make it less amazing to me, this is just a natural human ability to get more and more used to something. Humans are after all, experts at adapting and getting used to circumstances, this is also another reason why I could shake off my despair and suicidal thoughts.
Wound closed, all veins repaired, all muscle fibers healed. Reverting changes and turning on observation mode.
It seems these nanobots of mine did not notice anything strange, even though I completely skipped its estimated healing time of 10 days! How is this possible though? Is he just speeding up my natural recovery ability through magic or is the magic actually doing the healing? At this point I can only speculate, I must obtain the method to use this strange power!
My determination was overpowering my fear at this point.
"Hm, it seems you are healed. Oh! Before you try anything funny I'll have to restrain you, sorry about that."
He pulled out some rope from somewhere and started closing in on me. I was laying on the grass after having stabbed myself, I was not able to react in time and was helplessly tied up.
"Hehehe, now be a good little boy and follow me!"
He started walking to the entrance of his little hut. I stood up on shaky legs and tried my best to follow behind him, I had no choice after all. I mean, it's stupid to even think about running away when this guy can run faster than a damn train.
Surprisingly I could actually stand as well, it would be not weird if I were to faint instead. It goes without saying that going days without food and being in a strange environment really wears down on my soul and physical body. But for some reason I feel fine and well, I don't even feel that hungry or thirsty anymore. Is that also because of his magic healing power?
I walked behind him as he opened the door to his little hut.
"Welcome! my little friend, come in come in."
He waved me in as I walked awkwardly inside. I felt very weird as if I was walking into my own doom. Perhaps I would get imprisoned here and he would dissect me or perhaps feed me to beasts. Who knows what he might do to me? Of course, this is my own feeling, who knows what this man has in store for me?
I stared at him apprehensively, only after a few seconds did I let my gaze wander across the inside of this building. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and neat it was inside here, a stark contrast to the place those barbarians placed me in. From the outside, one would think this was a normal cozy hut, and from the inside this would also be the case, however there were a lot of strange items on his shelves.
If one looked closely at these items some were glass jars with dead insects or animal body parts inside, there were also a lot of different gems, metals, plants and scrolls. Besides that, his little hut had 2 windows and 1 entrance door, the place wasn't that big, only around 15m2.
He did have a bed hiding in the corner under all his shelves and a chair with an accompanying table, it looked like he was experimenting with something on this table. There was also a chest at the corner of this hut.
What a strange interior. I am especially curious about these different materials he has on his shelves. Maybe they have something to do with his magic as well?
"So what do you think of my place? I built this myself you know. It was very tough, but I managed to do it." He proudly stated with a boastful expression
I was flabbergasted.
He just started talking casually with me all of the sudden even though I was standing there bound like a slave with tattered clothes, I looked like a homeless person.
Even after he almost killed me and kidnapped me he can still talk about what my opinion of his place is? This guy definitely has a loose screw. What should I say then to this? I pondered. In the end I could not decipher what he wanted to hear from me with this question.
Perhaps he just wanted to hear me speak more to make me slip more information. I did not have a scheming mind and was brought up on earth so It would be easier to plot against me.
"It's a nice place." I said, giving out the least amount of information.
To be honest I wanted to directly ask him about his power but this might make me seem suspicious. What if everyone in this world knew about this power? It would seem very suspicious if I asked him about it, even if I asked him to teach me magic and pretended to know about this power before, there might also be conditions for me to be able learn it in the first place.
"Right, Right?" He nodded as he swept his gaze over me.
He paused for a while, looking at me strangely.
"I have a question little guy, where did you come from?" He struck a friendly smile, however this did not seem like a smile to me, he seemed more like the devil to me.
Shit, now his real questions are coming! He's trying to probe my background, is he still suspicious that I might be from another world? Possibly, this must be the real reason he took an interest in me and even went through the trouble of healing me. This is bad, I know next to nothing about this world, I have no idea if many people come to this forest at times or if its entirely devoid of people. If this is the case it is very strange for me to be wandering around this forest, the only thing I know about this forest was that there were terrifying beasts and a band of barbarians living here.
My mind overexerted and tried to formulate a fake story that would satisfy this man.
"I am a wandering traveler. I apologize for my behavior, I've always been depressed and suicidal ever since my family died and I was forced to migrate. I was not in the right mind before, it is my biggest fortune to meet you here." I said with a perfect mixture of pain and sadness.
I was tight on time as I couldn't delay answering this question too long or else he would grow too suspicious. My story is full of loopholes, if he asks me about where I used to live or about my family I would be screwed. If this world was similar to Earth I could of course easily make a fake story, because I know about the geography, history, culture and the technology level. But here, all of this is unknown! I have absolutely no clues to go off of, I've barely been in this world for a couple of days!
"Hmm. I've grown disinterested. You may leave now." He casually waved me out.
I stared at him in disbelief.
What? It was this easy? I thought for sure he would ask for more and I would be fucked. To think he's just casually waving me out like I'm a little fly. Should I try to be more daring and ask about his magic? No, that's definitely gambling with my life, he is so disinterested in me now that he's just allowing me to leave. He hasn't even undone my bind.
I stood still, unable to comprehend just what the hell was going on.
"Did you not hear me worm? Vanish from my sight at this instant. To think I wasted one of my one use items on you. I thought for sure you were an otherworldly being, but turns out you're just a regular insignificant insect, hmph." He spouted word of insult one after another.
I was left thoroughly unable to respond and quickly hurried out before he changed his mind and decided to crush me. I could not use my hands to open the door because I was bound, so I successfully opened the door with my elbow and I gained freedom! I quickly ran over to some vegetation to hide and look at this seemingly ordinary hut, however I knew that this hut was anything but ordinary. There was a man capable of incredible acts of magic inside!
I looked at this hut with a bit of sadness in my heart.
It seems I wont be able to learn about his extraordinary power any time soon, my life is more important. What a shame. I looked behind me and saw an endless stretch of forest. I shuddered as I imagined the terrible beasts hiding in this forest.
Should I have tried to ask him about it after all? No, now I've already walked out of there alive, there's no regretting it now. I shook my head as I prepared to leave.
But just before I left I saw a figure far away flying in the sky!
And he was coming this way rapidly!
What the hell...
