MORNING SUN ACADEMY

MORNING SUN ACADEMY.

Eventually, they found themselves standing before a grand gate that could easily be mistaken for an entrance to a palace. Both brothers, through their exceptional academic performance and the support of a welfare scholarship, had earned their places in the most prestigious school in the area, known as the Morning Sun Academy. It was a school created and programmed for the elite members of the G-country society; it was created for the offspring of select families that controlled the country. The people who attended this school were on top of the food chain and were trained to be the future leaders and controllers of the country, but surprisingly, both Xi Chen and his brother were both offered fully paid admission to the school. Despite being in such an elite environment, they consistently excelled academically. However, their financial situation made it challenging for them to form friendships; they were considered outsiders and outcasts because they were not in the same social circles. This was particularly difficult for Xi Chen, as he was an introvert through and through. His brother, Gu Chen XI, managed to make some friends due to his outgoing nature. Chen Xi, just like his name, was as bright as the morning sun, a true social butterfly, but Gu Xi Chen was the direct opposite and usually preferred his own company. The exhaustion from his recurring nightmares did not help the matter and further made him feel less enthusiastic about forging friendships or nurturing any kind of relationship with his peers, and this often seemed to make him seem more mature than his age, therefore making it hard to interact with people his age. These nightmares, which typically occurred once a month on a full moon, had recently become more frequent, haunting him almost daily and intensifying over the past two weeks. He couldn't shake off the feeling that they were getting worse. Regardless, he mustered the strength to lift himself from this melancholy state. He was on the brink of starting his second semester in his second year of middle school. His younger brother, who was a year behind him, had also transferred to this school at the same time as him. They were navigating this journey together, and he knew he needed to stay strong for both of them.

Despite the initial reservations of other students, the parents, and even the faculty about the brother’s sudden enrollment in the school, their exceptional academic achievements effectively quieted all skeptics. However, after a while, Xi Chen couldn’t help but notice some of this school’s very weird characteristics. For example, certain buildings were allocated for distinctive classes, primarily attended by high school students over 16 who were deemed "special". Intriguingly enough, these students weren't chosen based on their academic skills or any other noticeable talents. The selection criteria remained as enigmatic as the program itself. All that was known was that occasionally and without a discernible pattern, a student would be requested to gather their belongings and join these special classes, irrespective of their original class or grade point average. The buildings were cordoned off and under such security that no one else but the chosen students and faculty could get in there.

The most suspicious part is that no one knew what went on in that building. As it was closed and cordoned off to the rest of the school, only the select few who were allowed in the building would be able to tell, but again, none of them said anything. No matter how much they were asked, they never said anything about it to anyone. That wasn't the only peculiar occurrence at this school. The most unusual thing happening, which, unbeknownst to Gu Xi Chen, would involve him soon, was the school's entrance process. The school had separate gates for students under and over the age of sixteen. The children below sixteen walked through a regular-looking, open gate with teachers positioned on both sides to ensure proper attire and discipline. However, students over sixteen passed through a separate gate that resembled palace gates, equipped with scanners that examined each student before entry. The reason behind this remained unclear to Xi Chen. It couldn't be related to contraband since he was certain nothing had ever been confiscated, as far as he knew. Many people in their school possessed contraband items like phones, despite it being against the rules. Xi Chen was aware of all this because his bus driver consistently dropped him off at the incorrect gate situated on the opposite side of the school. Rather than walking the extra distance to reach their designated gate, he and his brother usually opted to find a way to sneak through the other entrance. As per usual, Xichen and Chenxi found themselves dropped off at the incorrect gate. Undeterred, they made their way towards the gate and entered. However, something peculiar occurred upon their arrival. The sensor lights flickered momentarily, turning from green to red. Xi Chen had seen this happen before, so he wasn't really surprised or shocked, but it had never happened to them before; therefore, he was slightly curious about the cause. Both of them were instructed to exit and reenter the gate, one after the other. Strangely enough, the phenomenon only repeated itself when Xichen passed through the gate this time, while nothing out of the ordinary happened when his brother walked through. This finally surprised Xi Chen, making him even more curious about what it meant and what happened next. But surprisingly, nothing else happened; eventually, they were granted permission to leave.

Unbeknownst to them, a man with slicked-back silver hair and glasses sat attentively, monitoring two screens in front of him. One screen displayed a video of Xi Chen passing through the gate, triggering the sensors, while the other showed his personal information and a photograph. "He seems rather young to be 'the one', wouldn't you say?" he murmured to himself. A voice responded from behind him, "Well, she did have a premonition, and he was the only one today to activate the sensors here, so it must be him." The man swiveled his chair around to face the second speaker. If Xi Chen had been present, he would have been astonished to find his father's boss sitting there. The school director sat in the chair across from him, responding to his inquiry. "He is the youngest I've ever encountered," commented Lin Guangxin, the boss of Gu Xichen's father. "Even my daughter, who awakened at the age of fifteen, was considered young. But to awaken at thirteen, that is truly unprecedented. "Lin Guangxin was referring to his beloved daughter, Lin Xinyi, who was hailed as a prodigy for awakening her abilities at such an early age. However, before him now stood an even greater prodigy who had accomplished this feat at the age of thirteen. This made him not just a prodigy among prodigies but rather a monster. The reason for this assessment was the red indicator. While a green indicator signified that one was an awakened transcendent, the red indicator indicated special class abilities. In the entire country G, there were only about 150 special class transcendents, out of which approximately 50 belonged to the SSS class. One could discern their classification by observing the flashes of the red indicator. It blinks once for an S class, twice for an SS class, and three times for an SSS class. However, for Xichen, it blinked four times. This indicated that his ability surpassed the SSS level. He was a true monster among monsters, reaching a legendary mythical status that no one had ever achieved before, not even the Sun God Gu Yi Chen, but we'll talk about him later.

"We need to inform the premier about this as soon as possible," Director Lan Huizhong said, breaking Lin Guangxin out of his thoughts. "But before that, we must get this boy into the special class quickly to prevent any trouble, assuming they are unaware of his existence. We also need to conduct tests immediately to confirm the accuracy of our predictions from the sensor."

Lin Guangxin pondered for a moment before making a decision. "Get him enrolled in the special class immediately. I will personally inform the premier," he replied, staring at XiChen's picture on the monitor, lost in contemplation. Director Lan picked up his intercom and asked his secretary to summon the teacher in charge of the special classes right away.
