Darui was unlucky and had just missed the boat by 7 minutes. By the time he made it down to the beach, he could already see it in the distance. He wanted to run after it but thought better when he remembered the giant squid that acted as Genbu's guardian. Anything that was not on the boat and carrying the correct seal, would immediately be attacked by a creature that was as large as a Bijuu.

So instead of risking his already injured body, Darui just sat on the bench by himself. He pulled out the scroll about Swift Release and began to read over it. The words first appeared blurry thanks to the seals on the scroll that prevented anyone from reading it besides the initial person who picked it up. It also placed Darui in a minor genjutsu that prevented him from speaking while he was reading the scroll and a seal that made it impossible to repeat what the scroll said.

These limitations were only placed on the A and S-Rank scrolls to prevent them from being leaked outside of the village. Darui was able to understand the precaution so he didn't mind them. Not when he was about to get such a powerful Kekkei Genkai to himself.

'The 5th Mizukage also had two Kekkei Genkai. But compared to her, mine are much better in direct combat than she who is better at ambushes. Then again, that is also the difference between our two villages.'

The method for utilizing Swift Release was very different than using Storm Release. Storm Release required Darui to turn his chakra into lightning chakra and form the foundation of the jutsu before adding water nature to the chakra. This was why Storm Release leaned more towards looking like Lightning Release than Water Release even though it was a hybrid of the two.

Swift Release required a more balanced approach and exceptional chakra control. He had to mold his chakra with both Lightning and Wind natures at the same time and with the same ratio throughout his body. He then had to push the wind chakra outside of his body while keeping the lighting chakra inside. The latter was used to stimulate his nerves and muscles while the former would act as a type of barrier to protect him from wind and debris while also acting as a tunnel to increase his speed. And that was only the most basic application of the technique. The more advanced forms of it would require different ratios in different parts of the body.

'An entirely different method. But I can appreciate it. No wonder the speed of the basic technique was faster compared to the old man's technique but the application is different. The focus is making a speedster instead of an all-rounded combatant using the logic of 'if they can't touch me, there is no need to block.' A dangerous mindset but one that I can get behind.'

Darui couldn't help but smile as he tried to mold his chakra in the way that would let him determine if he had any aptitude toward the Kekkei Genkai. But knowing that he had 3 innate chakra natures, pushed Darui's confidence to new levels. And after trying out the method, he was able to confirm that he in did fact have the Swift Release Kekkei Genkai.

'Perfect. I guess I should see if I have access to Ice Release in the future, just to sate my curiosity. But someone with 3 Kekkei Genkai? I don't think I have heard of that except for that Dark Release guy who stole them and Naruto who had all the Bijuu inside of him.'

After confirming the truth, Darui looked at the time and saw that not even 15 minutes had passed. He had another two hours until the boat would return.

'Wish I could be training on the boat or the island but here will have to do for now.'

Darui wanted to start off small. He began trying to split his chakra into three parts, his chakra pool and then two equal parts to use Swift Release with, and then trying to convert each of them at the exact same rate. The first part was hard enough. Ninjutsu required a person to only draw out some chakra from their pool before using it for a jutsu. To have to draw out two equal amounts was something only those who were using two jutsu at once could do. Most people just used a jutsu before activating another after it.

And then there was the transformation. Even after succeeding every once in 20 or so tries, when he tried to convert both of the chakra parts, he wasn't able to. The disruption of control would cause the chakra to return back to his main pool. So although by the time the two hours were up, he still had almost all of his chakra, he was mentally drained from the exercise.

The ferryman and shinobi around him saw Darui looked like shit. The fact that he was also wearing the clothes from his mission that got destroyed so he was looking like a complete mess. But none of them said anything. In Kumo, their Will of Lightning included that each shinobi had to take care of their own life while not facing enemies. No matter what training or teaching method they were subjected to, the others would respect their decisions. This was why Kumo had the strongest shinobi among the 5 Great Villages. The strong would persevere through all.

Darui boarded the boat and began to meditate. The trip would take about an hour which would not help him regain his full strength but he would at least not feel like complete shit.

The journey was relatively peaceful. Besides Darui, there were only 3 other shinobi heading to Genbu at the time. Although it was known as the training heaven, it was also one of the most dangerous places on the planet.

After an hour, Darui could see their destination. It was a massive fortress with dozens of spikes all over it. Trees and vegetation could be seen all over the place. But this was not truly a fortress, instead, it was a massive turtle. The giant animals and aggressive vegetation would kill anyone who was too weak. Genin were even forbidden from stepping foot on the island without special permission or an escort.

And this giant turtle was protected by a massive squid that was only slightly smaller than it. It acted as Genbu's main protector besides the shinobi of Kumo. Both had defended the giant creature from other shinobi and even the 3 Tailed Beast at one point. Darui left the boat and stepped onto Genbu's massive shell.

'Thanks, buddy.'

He reached down and said a small thanks to the turtle for allowing him to ride it. This was his tradition every time he came onto the turtle to train. He hoped that his thoughts got transmitted properly.

After giving his thanks to the massive creature, he decided to go to the medical center. There, he would get some more treatment before leaving for the forest on the island. But since he kept trying to mold his chakra and practice Swift Release while getting treatment, the medic gave him some anesthesia. There, Darui had to waste his first day on the island in a small treatment ward.

The next morning, Darui was out of the ward at first light. Several of the medics tried to hold him back but he refused to listen. Darui wanted to make up for lost time. He had to travel non-stop all morning and did not reach his usual camping spot until noon. There, he set down his backpack which was pretty much empty before gathering some supplies. He got firewood and hunted some squirrels and rabbits to eat for a couple of days. By the time he was fully settled, it was night once again.

'That's two days I wasted. I need to get serious tomorrow,' Darui complained to himself before turning over and falling asleep
