Why did those people who betrayed him not take this bracelet? Because once the owner of the skill died, the skill would be ‘erased’ with him. To those people, this silver bracelet sword was just ordinary jewelry.
Axel found the bracelet and put it on his wrist. At once, he felt the bracelet hum to life. It vibrated in his hand, as if it recognized him as its master too. Axel looked at it with soft eyes. The image of his brother proudly showing off this bracelet to him with a mischievous smile could not be erased from his mind.
He drew the bracelet close to his lips. “Brother… I swear, I’ll make them pay. I will not let any one of them get away with what they have done to you.”
Axel’s finger touched the book tattoo on his wrist, and the magical book materialized in front of him. It turned to the second page where his brother’s skill, [The Legendary Swordsman Skill], was located. He activated the skill, and at once the silver bracelet in his hand transformed into a long silver sword. It was light, and it felt right in his hand. Just by a touch, he could feel it become an extension of his body. He tried to swing it just to test how sharp it was.
But Axel did not notice he swung it in front of the water dispenser. The tip of the sword and the strong momentum it brought when swung around were extremely potent. With a splash, the water dispenser burst into the dining room, soaking Axel and the floor around him.
“……”
Crap.
Why is it that in movies, once a protagonist gains awesome supernatural abilities, he can use them like a pro? But when it comes to him, he is just one step away from destroying his house?
The heck?
Axel deactivated the skill and willed the silver long sword to go back to being a bracelet. Having Nyx’s memories is not enough; he has to practice how to fight and learn how to properly control this sword. He has to be someone deserving to wield the legendary sword that stayed by his brother’s side for nine years.
Axel did not waste time and ransacked his brother’s things. Right when Nyx was just starting, he underwent some training with a Samurai Instructor nine years ago. If Axel was not mistaken, that instructor’s contact information should be written down somewhere in Nyx’s address book. After flipping through Nyx’s books, he found his address book and located the name of the instructor. Axel did not have the smartwatch anymore, and he didn’t want to purchase one at the moment. He decided to visit the instructor in the afternoon.

Axel went out to get the mail sent to him. One of them was from his school, informing him he could go back to school after two weeks of rest. Seeing that it was sent a week ago, this meant he had one week at least to train hard. The hell he would experience in school would be twice as hard as before. He had to prepare.
Axel threw the letter in the trash bin and locked the house. Finding the address of the instructor was not hard. But when he arrived, he was not sure if he was in the correct place. In Nyx’s notebook, it said, “Masuda Dojo,” but in front of the two-story huge wooden house, it said, “Masuda Skill Class.” Axel was hesitating whether he should go inside or not.
“Oh? Young boy, are you lost?” A middle-aged woman came out with a silk-wrapped top of her head to balance a basket on it.
“Umm, no.” Axel’s fingers clutched Nyx’s notebook. “Is this… Masuda Dojo?” The middle-aged woman seemed surprised before she laughed.
“Oh my… It’s been a while since I encountered an enthusiastic student like you inquiring about Masuda Dojo. You’re Nyx Hart’s fan, aren’t you?”
Axel noticed something was off when he heard her, but he still continued. “Yes…” Well, technically, he was his brother and fan, so…
The middle-aged woman warmly smiled at him and ushered him inside. The inside of the house was spacious. In fact, there were three houses. The middle one had the sign “Masuda Skill Class,” while there were two houses lined up in vertical formation. Axel was guided to sit in the gathering hall. Currently, there was only him. The middle-aged woman left him after saying she would summon Master Masuda from the training hall.
He waited for a few minutes, and the woman reappeared. She wasn’t alone. A stern-looking old man with a white beard glared darkly at Axel, making him shiver in fright. Behind the old man was a young woman who seemed to be the same age as him. Then there were eleven-year-old children who followed her while laughing and making jokes among themselves. They lined up in front of Axel. The eleven-year-old children looked at him curiously.
“Who is he?”
“A new student?”
“Luna, he seems to be the same age as you.”
“Will he join us?”
“I wonder what his abilities are?”
Axel kept silent. The middle-aged woman kindly stood in the middle and introduced Axel, “Oh my, young man, can you tell me your name? I forgot to ask.”
“What? You let a strange young boy come in without asking who they are? Are you crazy?” The old man reprimanded her sternly, but she laughed it off.
“Oh, come now, father. How long has it been since aspiring students who admire Nyx Hart knocked on our house to be your students? He stood outside asking if this is Masuda Dojo.” The woman seemed amused as she kept giggling by herself.
“What’s your name, boy?”
“Axel.”
“And? What’s your purpose for coming here?”
“I want to know how to use a sword.”
The old man scoffed, as if he had already predicted Axel wanted to learn how to become a good swordsman. Just like everybody who transpired to be like the legendary swordsman, Nyx Hart.
