While laying in the tall grass from next to the lake Tom realizes that he is basically a sitting duck and that creepy man will probably find him.

He stays there because he knows that if he moves now he will blow whatever weak cover he may have.

After a few troublesome seconds he hears clicking somewhere near the fences of the houses nearby.

He hears a gun getting primed and some strange metallic sounds. After that, there was silence again. He hears those clicking noises again but slowly fading somewhere into the distance.

Tom is petrified after that close encounter and tries to calm down by thinking that this must be some kind of tragic back story for later in his adventure to find the girl of his dreams and live a happy life.

When it’s almost morning he hears some dog barking from the direction of his house puzzled. Tom is puzzled because no neighbor had a dog and starts to assume the worse.

Tom:”Did that dude just came back when it’s almost morning with a dog to find me? I mean I think it was him who passed me last night and almost found me. What the hell is wrong with everything? I live crappy life in my previous world and now I wasted a year of my new life just to get killed at the end? Damn introversion! Maybe if I went out and tried to ask for help maybe they would have given it to me! Well …. to run now is futile. If the dog really can track me down I will be dead in seconds even if I start to run now. says Tom to himself”

A huge dog comes centimeters away from him and the starts to bark loudly. After that a man in a german WWII trench uniform comes there and grabs Tom by one arm, gives the dog a treat. Tom starts to panic and to beg for mercy from the man in russian, he knows that if in this world there is a WWII type of conflict he will be sent to some camp and killed, but he at least tries.

The man smiles at him at says something unintelligible, but seemed to be words of comforting so he goes along with him.

Tom, now, takes a good look at his face and realizes that it did not look like that man’s face from the previous night.

He starts to think that he is some kind of police and refrains himself from speaking so he will not cause trouble for himself.

When they arrive at the main street there was a motorcycle with a sidecar waiting The man puts Tom and the dog that was happily wagging his tail in the side car and hops on the motor bike.

He recognizes that the man’s uniform was not actually german and that it was some kind of crossbreed between the Russian and german WWII service uniforms. So Tom lets out a sight of relief and the man said something that sounded like a introduction and all he could understand was “Hans” and” your name?” at which Tom responses with … well…”Tom”. After this Tom is being offered a candy.

Hans starts the motorcycle and goes along streets and takes turns, and salutes someone that looked like an officer that was crossing the street.

Tom’s plans of inventing cars were ruined since the place where he lived in really was a bad part of town and here where at least one or two cars parked on each street.

They arrive at a building with lots of flags at the entrance. Hans parks the motorcycle and grabs Tom by the hand and commands the dog to come with them and go around the building and enter thru one of the back doors where he is sat down on a chair next to a table. Hans makes a sign with both hands to Tom to stay there and after that he goes up a set of stares.

Tom is left alone and he starts to look around to see what secrets this small room may be hiding, but he is left disappointed that all he sees is some chairs and the table where he was sitting.

After a while there comes another man that looked like a cop and says something and Tom deduces that he is invited up the stairs.

There he is waved in a small bureau where he is shown some images with his raped and killed mother and the face of the man that killed her at which he nods “yes” at all of them and Tom starts to tear up.

Not because he was holding compassion for the woman, but because he was technically a 15 year old teenager and to see this kind of stuff at this age is horrifying.

After this he is shown a list of names with a tick box in front of them.

Is shocked by how much “interest” these people give to his unfortunate situation, so he just ticks the box with the most normal name he saw and then he is being lightly pushed by the man at the bureau to go outside.

And so he does.

After this he is being transported by Hans in the same motorcycle to another building across the town.

Tom is now disappointed in himself because he realize that what he chose on that paper was an orphanage and not a loving family. At the entrance he is being greeted by a woman that was the female version of an ugly bastard.

Tom starts to whisper a prayer that asked god to not get raped here and either the woman had no ill will or god listened to his prayer and is shown the way to the bedroom that had double decker beds.

The woman leaves and Tom picks a bed that looked untouched and lays down, staring at the ceiling. Thinking about his life overall and his poor decisions, both in his former world and this world that may have lead him to a kinder fate and let’s a few tears out.

In the middle of his internal monologs, three boys enter the room and starts to try to talk to Tom.

These boys were skin and bone and Tom starts to wonder why they are doing this since they came out of the blue he clearly had anything to eat or interesting in his possession.

After the boys saw that they weren’t getting anywhere they start to back off.

Tom:”I bet they back off because they just realized that they are going against a main character! Or maybe because I clearly have more muscular mass than all of them combined. Damn that workout really paid off! said to himself”

They all started at each other for a while and a girl enters the bedroom saying something to the boys. Tom realizes that they were all with at least 2-3 years older than him, but because the malnutrition they may have experienced they were under developed.

The girl exits the room after she is done talking and the boys start to try to talk to Tom once more. He sees that even they don’t know to speak their language very well so he just waits for them to finish and leave.

Tom stays there confused till it’s almost night and boys comes in and start to prepare to sleep while the ugly bastard woman starts to scream at Tom.

After that Tom goes to sleep confused and buries his face into his pillow and with tearing eyes and goes to sleep.

When they wake up Tom follows the crowd of kids to another room where they were given a slice of bread and a cup of water and Tom guessed that it was his breakfast.

After everyone has their bread and water they start eating.

A fat boy that had an air of an “alpha male” locks his gaze at Tom.

He ate his slice of bread and drank his water as fast as he could thinking that maybe he wants his food.

When breakfast is done the children start to head somewhere so Tom follows them again.

They arrive in the court yard and some kids started playing while others were talking or just sitting around.

One of the kids that were sitting around was Tom that was looking for someone he could have a meaning full interaction with.

He sees the “alpha male” having his gaze fixated on him again and the boy starts to walk towards him.

Tom stands up and tries to run away but his back hits the wall of the orphanage’s building.

He only now realizes that there is no one around to help and that he was cornered. The least he could do is raise his guard up and hope that boy is not too good at fighting or he is just coming to talk.

The boy raises his fist to hit him.

When he does, the boy is surprised that Tom blocked it. He probably never saw anyone knowing how to defend themselves.

So he starts to land hit after hit and when he got tired, Tom tries to hit back but he is welcomed with a punch in his stomach and a kick in the leg.

Tom:”Damn! He is more intelligent than I imagined. He deceived me!”

So Tom starts to play dead and the kid, scared ,runs away. But when the boy is with his back completely exposed Tom stands back up and catches up to him and starts to punch and kick him.

Even thou the boy clearly was still able to continue to fight and that he had no serious injury he collapses and attempts to make the same trick as Tom.

Tom seeing that he was copying his tactic he backs off with an eye on him to make sure he does not come back to punch him again and walks towards a large number of kids where he stays for the rest of the day.

When it was almost dawn the ugly-bastard-woman yells at the children pointing her finger o the entrance to the orphanage and everyone goes inside, back to their bedrooms to sleep.
