The next day, Tom wakes up pretty early and sees that Iuustin is still sleeping.

He exits the room and sees that Maria was cooking breakfast.

Maria:”Oh, Tom! You are awake? Well breakfast is almost ready. Sit down at the table!”

Tom:”Uh… Alright! Thank you!”

Tom enters the kitchen, sits down and when Maria is done he starts to eat the scrambled eggs she prepared. Maria, in the mean time, leaves for work.

Tom:”She has quite the aggressive tone and feels like she wants to keep people at an arm’s length. Not that I wanted to get too close personally, but I was curious about how she got isekai’d. said Tom to himself”

He finishes eating and goes to peek in the second room of the house.

He sees nothing but a bed, a wardrobe, a small book shelf and a table with a chair.

He goes back to the kitchen and washes his dish and goes back to the room he slept in.

He takes a book from the book shelf and tries to read it.

The alphabet was almost similar to the Russian one but slightly different, just enough that someone from this world couldn’t read it and that pissed Tom for awhile, but he decides to put it back and pick up another book.

The same story goes for the next book and the next few before he decides to stop.

In the mean time Iuustin also wakes up and with puffy eyes sais:

Iuustin:”Good morning!”

Tom:”Good morning!”

Iuustin stands up and stares at Tom.

Tom:”Ya want to ask me something?”

Iuustin:”No, I will go eat now.”

Iuustin leaves the room and closes the door behind him.

Tom lays down and looks at the ceiling for a few minutes and starts to hear water running and the sound of plates hitting each other.

Tom figures that he must have finished eating.

Iuustin enters back into the room and sits back on his sofa.

Iuustin:”So, I haven’t properly introduced myself yet did I? Well I am Iuustin Schrödinger. That’s my name from the other world. I haven’t gotten a name in this one so I am using the old one.

Tom:”Well, I am Tom. Just that. And same here, I haven’t gotten any name from all I know in this world.”

Iuustin now seemed like he is wide awake now and spoke on a calm tone, but the same sad aura that hanged around him yesterday was still present. Tom figured that his arrival may not be the thing that he was sad about.

Iuustin:” Maria told me to explain to you the rules of the house since she is usually busy with work.”

Tom nods and Iuustin choughs in his hand like he was about to give a speech.

Iuustin:”So, we will have a bath once a week, no more, no less so we will stay clean and not waste money then after we come back from outside we let our shoes next to the door and change them to our flip flops to go around the house, but not before we wash our hands. She was pretty insistent on not to waste the soap since they come in ration.”

Tom:”What?”

Iuustin:”Well I don’t know. That’s what she told me at least. Plus whether actually they do or not it is still important not to waste stuff.”

Iuustin take a deep breath and continues.

Iuustin:”This next rules are not really house rules, but they are more to sustain our safety. We should not bother strangers or follow them and we should not interact with soldiers unless we are in danger.”

Tom:”Soldiers? Aren’t they like at the military base doing training?”

Iuustin:”Well in the other world that was the case, but here they are constantly patrolling the streets, so… yeah…kinda like cops. That’s all, in rest just use common sense and you’ll be fine. And because of the soldiers we are pretty safe to go outside for short periods of time, thou I would not recommend it to go unsupervised cause that’s gonna cause trouble for Maria.”

Tom:”I think that I have a good idea on how to behave now. Well…do we have something to do now? Or we just sit around?”

Iuustin:”Yeah, we do have a chore to do. Today we will have to sweep the apartment’s floor and uh... that’s all there is for the time being. I would want to do it as fast as possible so when can relax till Maria comes back.”

Tom:”Ok, let’s get it done then.”

One thing that Tom did not anticipate is that since he was very small, the tools were gigantic compared to his size.

When he saw them he thought that they looked kind of funny, but it soon became clear that it was no easy task for them when he actually started to swipe. To Tom at least it felt like swiping the floor with a log with a big brush attached at the end of it.

After they were done, both Iuustin and Tom sit down to catch their breath.

Tom:”Can I ask you a question?”

Iuustin:”Sure, but whether I respond or not is a completely other story.”

Tom:”I saw that there was no toilet in the bathroom. Where am I supposed to go then? Cause I kind of need to go to the bathroom.”

Iuustin:”Oh that, well the toilet is on the hallway. We have to share it with the other people in this building. You will need toilet paper thou. Let me show you where we keep it.”

Iuustin goes in the kitchen and grabs a chair. In the mean time Tom follows him.

Iuustin opens a wardrobe on the hallway and uses the chair to get a roll from a shelf.”

Iuustin:”Here ya go. Now you know where they are so get them yourself next time. The toilet as I said it is on the same floor with us and is behind a door that has a little toilet sign drawn on top of it.”

Tom takes the roll and murmurs to himself:” I thought when you come to another world you would have better living conditions that this….”.

Iuustin hears that and responds whit:”Well I feel the same about sharing a toilet with a bunch of strangers, but we have no choice.”

Tom comes back after he went to the toilet into the apartment.

When he comes back, both Iuustin and Tom start to talk about some videogames from the previous world.

When Maria comes back she prepares something to eat for Tom and Iuustin and then she takes both of them for a walk to a nearby park.

They hang round there for a while and come back to eat dinner and sleep.
