As I read through the prompts I accept the recommendation to name the faction Darkchimers after remembering my old guildies and friends and when we'd meet up and hang out after gaming before I started working all the time. After reminiscing for a few more minutes I look to the ground in front of me and see a chakram that gleams a soft silver with a faint mist surrounding it, As I bend down and grab the handle in the center a trickle of power jolts through my body before disappearing as a feeling of finding something lost appears in my mind. As I lift the weapon a glow surrounds it before it finally calms down and I attach it to a loop on my belt until I can get an actual holster made for it.
"Master Noor.....that was an actual god...as in a bonafide being of supreme power.....and he was so....normal....like you....and now it's almost like I have access to loads of information I didn't think possible before. Who was that and why were you so nonchalant?" Dawn asks me quietly, her voice laced with both fear and wonder as she glances at me nervously with he feet shuffling on my shoulder.
"That's Toma, he's a....umm....guess you could say a friend? He's the reason I'm still alive and also the old one everyone was told about. First time meeting him though in the flesh but dudes pretty chill and decent as far as I can tell so I trust him. Wouldn't surprise me if he injected you with info or something without telling us though considering god's are like that but on to other things we now have a faction and I need you and your clones to start registering everyone from the settlement and our group who wants to join. That way we can start working towards a goal once we head home." I say to the sprite as she nods once before flitting back to camp.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"So what the hells a Darkchimer dude?" Zadin asks from beside me as his eyes trace left to right as if he's reading something in front of him.
"Back when I was a casual gamer I did the whole WoW thing and decided to create my own guild. I was a bit of an edge lord back then and wanted a cool name without numbers and it was just getting dark when I heard my towns church bells go off, and back then I was terrified of the dark. So after thinking a bit I thought the last chime of the bell before nightfall sounded like a really sick idea, after making it I made some really good friends and we stayed in touch until I had to throw myself into whatever I could to pay the bills. The chimers were like a family of misfits that looked out for each other and were always there when you needed them. From what I've seen so far of this world there aren't many groups like that so sounded like a new chimers faction is needed, and this time we'll grow strong enough to actually protect what we build up." I say wistfully as I remember my old group of friends and the last time we got together outside the game, movie nights with horror and anime as the main events while we loaded ourselves with junk food, I can't help but smile fondly as I realize how much I actually miss my friends even before waking up in the world.
"So why does this thing say I'm the vice captain? I mean I'm flattered but I'm not exactly meant to be in charge of anything bro. I'm more of a....enforcer...not a boss." Zadin laughs at me before wiping a tear from his eye and waiting for me to explain.
"Well from the tutorial I got apparently factions are different for us "players" vs the locals. If we want to have one it requires two of us to keep it operating in case something happens to me so technically your second in command but if you don't want the responsibilities no worries its only a title." i explain and watch as relief floods his face and nods with a quick 'cool bro' before we finally make our way back to camp. As we finally make it back to camp I glance at the Faction list and already see all of my original group as well as most of the people back home plus Zadin and Keeg.
"Boss congratulations on the faction! Now can we finally go to the creature I told you about before the battle? I checked and it's still hanging out there and I'll need help in restraining it while I cast the taming ritual I learned." Slab comes over and cackles excitedly.
I nod my head in agreement after he finishes and watch the gnoll scurry around gathering gear and ingredients while I shake my head, remembering that it's been a long day and I completely forgot my beastmasters new potential pet. After taking a breath I start following Slab until I feel a light tapping on my shoulder before I turn and notice the Siren standing behind me with her eyes downcast and her arms wrapped around her chest.
"Sir...um...boss...thank you for killing that monster, if you'd have it I'd feel safer if I could join your group. I promise I can be useful too! I know how to cook and identify the dangerous things in the swamps as well as along the coast where I migrated from and I can sing really well, some of my songs can even carry magic that can heal or calm the hurt!" she starts off mumbling before trying to finally force some cheer into her nervous voice before looking up with eyes that shine with hope.
{Quest completed! Reward earned-Loyalty of Siren Songstress!}
"You can calm with your singing huh? Follow us I think you'll be able to help with this next bit!" I say excitedly as I motion for the woman to follow as we make our way through the swamps finally running into Slab as he points to.....
