Thy Kingdom Feud Chapter 2 Ashton's

Lord Ashton Burton and his father, the Duke, sat beside the campfire as their carriage stopped for the night. His father smiled and said, "You know, my boy, when your uncle and I were young, we used to go camping in the woods. We'd build our own fort and play knights. It was a tough time, but we have great memories from that time."

After a long silence, Lord Ashton finally spoke up, "I have a question. Why did Uncle Eric choose to marry a girl who doesn't even love him?"

The father replied, "That's sometimes how peace is made. It's about land, people, or your children. In this world, you have to make hard choices, especially as a leader of a country."

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

Lord Ashton asked his father, "Can't we find another way to achieve peace without giving someone to the enemy? I would never give you away. Would you give me away just to save your own skin?"

His father responded, "I think you're starting to understand, but at the same time, you're too oblivious to your own words. Everyone is after the spoils of war. There are more options for achieving peace, and the East King doesn't have any that could satisfy your uncle, so he offered his own child to create peace across the lands."

Lord Ashton replies, "That's fu-" Lord Ashton cuts himself off before he could say the swear. "That's Stupid, Father, I was asking if you would sacrifice me for peace." His father stood silent on the question. After a moment of silence, his father finally replied, "It depends, but I'll never sacrifice you. Now prepare the sleeping bags and rest for tonight." The two prepare for the next and rest for the night.
