Prologue and Chapter 1: The Peace Ceremony

Prologue and Chapter 1: The Peace Ceremony

Once upon a time, there were two kingdoms - the East Kingdom and the West Kingdom. The East Kingdom was ruled by a royal family consisting of a King, a Queen, and a Princess. The West Kingdom, on the other hand, had a King, a Duke (who was the King's brother), and a Lord (who was the Duke's son). They had been at war for fourteen years, and the two kings reluctantly agreed to peace at the cost of getting the East King's only child to hold the West King's hand in marriage. They have only thirty days until the big day for the kingdoms.

Chapter 1: The Peace Ceremony

Upon hearing the news of the peace treaty, the Duke and his son promptly arrived at Winehop Hall to join in the celebration. The Duke made his way to the dining hall, while his son stepped outside the building to take a break from the noise. The lord watches the stars of the mysterious night sky; he has always been interested in the field of astronomy ever since he was a child.

He continued to watch the night sky until he heard a twig snap nearby. He instantly recognized the person who snapped it as Princess Nordeast

"Aren't you a bit young to be an aunt?" he said.

The princess started to have an annoyed expression and replied, "Yes, but I would rather be dead." The Lord looked at her with a smug expression. "Sure? I've seen a lot of women kneel in front of my uncle before."

The Princess rolled her eyes and replied, "Yeah, to unsee his repulsive body. They probably go home and yell 'My eyes!' because they are afraid of saying it to his face."

The lord laughed and said, "Goodness Gracious… I'm starting to like you; you're pretty funny." The Princess got flustered at the lord's comment and looked away. She then looked back at the Lord, and as she was about to speak, her assistants told her to go to the dining room. Before she walked away, she winked at the lord.

Five minutes passed, and then nobles, maids, the maids' maids, the Duke, the Duke's son, the East King, the West King, and his fiancée, Nordeast, filled the table. However, there were two empty seats. The West King stood up and cleared his throat. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters, Sons and Daughters, Uncles and—"

"Just get straight to the point, you fat bastard!"

The lord yelled, and everyone burst out laughing except the West King, who stood there disappointed. The West King cleared his throat and continued, "Apologies. As I was saying, as we move on from warfare, we will be connected as a new bloodline and family. The new generations of the Nordeast and the Southwest will prosper and bring a new golden age to our kingdoms. We'll conquer the north, south, and other places that need civilization. We won't abandon each other; we'll be undivided; we'll thrive!"

Everyone cheered at the West King, except the Princess and the lord. The lord caught a glimpse of the princess looking at him for a split second, but his father woke him up from his thoughts and said, "It's time to leave, my son. I'll see you at the carriage." The Duke headed towards the exit of the building, and the lord got up and walked around the halls. He heard a door open near him and saw a maid and the East Queen exit a room, looking flustered.

"Well, anyways, I can't be late to the party. I'll see you there," the Queen said as the maid nodded. They headed towards the dining room. The lord walked towards the exit, lost in his own thoughts and still wondering what the Queen was doing that made her so red. The lord got in the carriage, and It rode back home.
