Description (Primary Needs, descending order)
Skeleton
1
N/A
Death
One of the simplest forms of undead, Skeletons can be formed from almost any endoskeletal sapient. The sparks of soul fire in the empty eye sockets of a skeleton reflect its current emotions. (Bone, Soul)
Hollowed
1
Celylia Dustweaver
Death
Hollowed are as basic a form of undead as their skeleton counterparts, though they tend to be rather more striking in appearance. Hollowed are the skeletal remains of sapient beings with an exoskeleton. The interior of a hollowed is filled with mist like soul fire that shows their mood through its color. (Bone, Soul)
Zombie
1
N/A
Death
Zombies are the most common low tier undead. With few exceptions almost every sapient consisting of flesh and bone may be resurrected as a zombie. The degree of decay and mutilation are dependent on the source of their reanimation and the condition of their corpse. Due to the nature of Mortis’ actions the zombies in Still-Leaf village are extremely well preserved with only the wounds that killed them. (Flesh)
Gray Dwarf
1
Alasdair Featherstone, Eshtan Earthhammer
Death
Due to the unique nature of dwarven corpses they return as gray dwarves instead of zombies. Within days of death dwarven corpses begin to petrify instead of putrefying. As a result some or all of a gray dwarf’s soft tissues are replaced with stone. They are consequently more resistant to cutting and piercing forces but their stone portions are vulnerable to shattering. (Soul, Flesh)
Ghost
1
Aina
Death
Ghosts are the simplest and weakest for of spectral undead. Like all spectral undead ghosts are especially vulnerable to sunlight. Unlike other spectral undead, they are also reduced to a state of torpor when the sun is in the sky even if they are within a building or even underground. Ghosts are capable of interacting with the physical world but only with great effort and focus.(Soul)
Verdant Skeleton

N/A
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Death, Plant
Verdant skeletons are a fairly rare variant of skeletons. Unlike a typical skeleton the bones of a verdant skeleton are heavily overgrown with fungus, lichen, and even parasitic plants. Typically verdant skeletons are the result of druidic based necromancy. (Bone, Flesh)
Ghoul
2
Skariish
Death, Venom
From a distance a ghoul could almost pass for a particularly emaciated zombie. Up close or to the trained eye the distinctions are obvious. All ghouls are emaciated with bony joints but up close the strength of their wiry muscles are clear. On average a ghoul is around twice as strong as they were in life. Even more obvious traits all ghouls share are the thick serrated claws and rows of shark-like teeth they possess. (Flesh, Blood)
Dulahan
2
Ismini
Death, Fire
Dulahan are visually distinctive and surprisingly strong for their tier, which makes them a common subject of legends and haunting tales. Their necks and a ring around their pupils burns with a metallic soul fire. They are difficult to kill as if either their body or head is functional the other will slowly regenerate. (Soul, Flesh, bone)
Vampire
2
Antheia, Mycenia
Death, Blood
Many people consider vampires the aristocracy of the undead, but such a loft title only truly applies to the ancient and powerful advance tiers of vampires. The common vampire are considerably stronger than they were in life and they regenerate quickly if well fed. Those benefits are contrasted with a weakness to sun only rivaled by ghosts. The powerful blood and shadow magic as well as the form altering abilities often falsely attributed to them are only gained at higher tiers. (Blood)
Banshee
Corpse Bound Banshee
2
N/A
Mesalin Featherstone
Death, Sonic,
Myths and rumors give many explanations for the creation of banshees. Some say they are the result of women murdered by a lover, others claim that only female bards or other singers become banshees. The true source is less well known but much simpler. Banshees result from any species whose members are all female. Corpse Bound Banshees lend credence to the false origins of banshees as they result rarely when during their formation the banshee is bound within a mostly intact female corpse. Often the corpse is that of the banshee but occasionally they are bound within a race who cannot produce banshees. (Soul)
Wraith
Corpse Bound Wraith
2
N/A
Lovisa Silverthorn
Death, Soul
Wraiths are one of the few forms of undead often viewed with a measure of careful respect. Wraiths are produced by souls that are tied to the mortal plane by oaths and duty’s left unfulfilled. The most common origins of wraiths are soldiers and guards who fell in a futile defense of their homeland. Like many forms of spectral undead, wraiths can sometimes form bound within a corpse. They don’t have any capacity to repair the corpse so large wounds reveal the spectral form of the wraith within. (Soul)
Dryas Heart
3
Lindel
Death, Nature, Soul
Dryas hearts are a very rare form of undead that are often mistaken for zombies from a distance. Their identifying traits are one of the few things scholars agree on. Sitting suspended in their chest cavity where their heart once was is a seed that either is identical to or actually a dryas seed. The vine-like roots that extend from the seed take over all motor functions of the undead. The followers of The Emerald Grove decry it as heretical but the most commonly accepted theory is that rarely when a dryas seed is placed, or simply ends up, in a corpse infused with death magic it may be fused with the soul of the body instead of developing one of its own. When that happens instead of growing into a tree and manifesting as a dryad it grows into and fills the corpse before animating it as Dryas Heart. (Soul, Flesh)
Alchemical Litch
3
Ahti
Death, Toxin, Soul
Typically when people think of litches they typically think of ancient necromancers who seek to cheat death by using death magic to bind their soul and power into their desiccated corpse. Not as many people know that necromancy is not the only way to create a litch. Certain powerful toxins and alchemical concoctions can be used, often on a living person, to bind the soul and prepare the corpse to create an alchemical litch. (Soul)
Abyssal Wight
3
Keira
Death, Tide, Dark
Rarely warriors with powerful wills are resurrected as wights instead of a zombie or wraith. Those who by the nature of their life or death are bound to the abyssal depths of the sea may bring that link to the abyss with them when returning from death. Their bodies are tempered by the crushing depth and their eyes are swirling pools of dark sea water. (Blood, Soul, Flesh)
