For uncounted Eons the goddess of death Mortis has granted the dead safe passage through the veil to the afterlife they earned. For the first time she has offered some of the dead, passage back. For many decades Keira, an elven royal born outside the line of succession, fought on the front lines as officer of the Tide Carvers of The Steel Coast Archipelago defending her homeland from the many threats from the deep sea. After her retirement from service she joined the Adventurers' Guild and traveled to the mainland to seek a Path to reach the Legendary Tiers.  When a seemingly simple extermination job took her to Still-Leaf Village, a settlement near the furthest reaches of The Gateway Forest. Instead she encountered a threat far greater than she expected both she and the people of Still-Leaf perished.  With the rewards granted by the system and the blessing of the goddess of death Keir passed back through the Veil of Mortis. Now she must lead the first village of free willed undead and walk the Path Beyond Legend.
