“This is a terrible idea James.” James smiles as I hold onto his arm walking pass a few buildings. A large gathering of people are near the square of the city. It looks like a celebration or something.
“I think it’s a wonderful idea.” I smile as a few guards walk past us. I turn to him shooting him daggers.
“You going to cause a fight, get taken to jail, break out, all to find information on this Jake character? That’s an awful idea.” He rolls his eyes at me patting his pocket.
“I have a way out. It’s going to go fine.” We sneak into the party on the square. The party consists of a few high-ranking military officers and a lot of common folk. We make our way through party James looking over at some servers. “Alright. You stay here while I go get some drinks.” I start to get this uneasy feeling that this won’t end well.
“James I think...” I look to see him already moving toward the drinks. I curse underneath my breath as one of the high-ranking officers gets everyone's attention.
“Thank you everyone for coming out tonight.” I try to tune him out as I feel someone place a hand on my shoulder.
“Excuse me miss?” I stop looking back to see a strong looking man staring at me. He has a set of beautiful hazel eyes that slightly gleam in the moonlight. His blonde beard and hair show off his handsome features. He towers over me making me feel tiny. I gulp trying to play dumb.
“Oh... hey... I just got lost... I am sorry.” He smiles giving off warm vibes.
“It’s alright. I was just wondering why you were all alone.” His voice sounds rich and familiar. I itch my cheek trying to remember who he was.
“I’m not. My friend is just getting me a drink.” He looks over to the drink table for a moment.
“I see. Are you enjoying the party?” I shrug looking around at it.
“I guess.” I catch a glimpse of a priest sitting in the corner. “What are they doing with him?” I point to the priest causing the man to sound confused.
“What the...” I look back at him as he forces a smile. “If you could, would you accompany me to deal with this issue?” I stop finally figuring out who this is. Lord Lionheart. I nod trying not to raise suspicion. I guess he doesn’t remember me for the time on the road. He leads me over to the priest who is tied to the ground. Two high ranking guards poke fun at the priest. “What are you doing soldiers?” He says with a sternness in his voice. The two soldiers turn around saluting him. One stammers out a response.
“Sir.. We were just...” The priest has his face covered with a cloth. Lord Lionheart points to the priest.
“I made it very clear that I didn’t give those orders. Next time, I will replace him with you. Release him this instant.” The soldiers uncuff the priest. I look at Lord Lionheart who motions me to help the priest. I go to him making sure he is okay. Lord Lionheart starts to scold the soldiers as I lean the priest against the wall.
“Are you okay?” The priest nods raising his hand to his face. He tries to remove the cloth that is wrapped around his face. “I can do that.” I unwrap the cloth from his face. I stop looking on a horribly disfigured face. The right of his face is scared over as the other half is almost bone. “You.” The priest looks at me with his only good eye. He grabs ahold of my hand smiling slightly.
“Thank you for saving me.” I gulp fear slowly spreading through me. I look seeing the faint blue symbols running across his body. They say words like absorb, consume, and cancel. I stand up backing away from him. I hear James say something loud causing me to look over to him.

“I don’t think I have had enough yet!” I look at the priest seeing him gone. I look around quickly trying to spot him. Lord Lionheart walks back over to me looking at me.
“Now that’s taken care of, we can deal with...” He looks around frowning. “Where is the priest?” I look at him as a scream utters out. We both look over seeing the priest with his hand placed on James. The priest smiles as his symbols starts to glow.
“Be Cleanse-” Lord Lionheart appears next to him with incredible speed. He takes out a sword he was carrying swiping it across the priest’s neck. Lord Lionheart places the sword back in his hilt as the priest’s head topples off his shoulders. James’s falls to the ground with a red burn mark on his face. A few soldiers try to secure the scene as I run to James. I get to him as his body slowly heals the burn mark. I panic covering his face with some cloth. Lord Lionheart starts to give orders to people trying to calm them down. He points to us.
“Please take them to the nearby hospital that man needs medical attention.” A few soldiers come over getting James to his feet. They lead us to the military distract to the hospital. The hospital is huge with many buildings coming off it. We go inside as the soldier's hand us over to the medical personal. After getting a room, a doctor comes in.
“Hello. My name is Doctor Roasland.” He is a somewhat skinny man with a long white lab coat. He wears a white mask covering a majority of his face. His brown eyes and brown hair can only be seen. “What seems to be the issue?” I gulp not really sure how to explain what happened. I look to see James fast asleep.
“A guy knocked out my friend. Lord Lionheart sent us over here.” The doctor looks over at Jake walking to him. He examines his body for a little bit finding scars on his arms. He writes something down a piece of paper. He looks up at me.
“He looks to be exhausted. Some rest will do him some good.” I let out a sigh of relief looking at James.
“Good.” I go to sit down next to him but stop seeing James’s vail on the floor next to the door. The doctor looks down seeing it. He picks it up. Shit. “Oh, that’s my medicine.” The doctor looks back at me narrowing his eyes. He hands it over.
“It would be a shame if you would lose it then. Someone is here to see you.” I look at him confused placing the vial in my pocket.
“Who?” The doctor heads to the door.
“Lord Lionheart.” He opens the door with Lord Lionheart standing there.
“Doctor.” The doctor nods walking out into the hallway. I follow him somewhat surprised that Lord Lionheart is here. “How is the burn?” The doctor looks at Lord Lionheart for a moment.
“... Better my lord. Now excuse me. I have other patients that need my help.” I get this worried feeling spreading through me as Roasland walks away from us. Lord Lionheart looks at me.
“I am sorry. I didn’t know that priest was rabid.” I force a smile wanting to get James out of here.
“That’s fine. I think we just need to head home now. James just needs to get some rest from what the doctor told me.” Lord Lionheart nods going to open the door for me. He stops looking at me.
“How would you like some food? I notice you walk in and I didn’t see you get anything.” I slightly frown causing him to look a little hurt.
“Sure.. I am just worried about James.” He relaxes.
“Don’t worry. Doctor Roasland is the best doctor in the entire Green Belt. He works on any high-ranking military officers.” I follow Lord Lionheart to a place where they are serving food. I stop thinking about Captain Jake.
“Lord Lionheart?” He looks at me. “Do you know what happened Captain Wilson?” The dining hall grows quiet as I look around confused. Lord Lionheart looks around shooting everyone a look. People start eating and talking again but quieter.
“Captain Wilson was an excellent soldier that die in the Battle of the Capital about a year ago. Why do you ask?” I stop getting hand a small plate of food.
“I saw his statue in the middle of a garden. So, I thought I would... ask...” We sit down at a table eating together. Lord Lionheart takes a bite of a green apple smiling happily.
“I love the sourness of these.” I get lost in thought of why Roasland would be working on James.
“Why would Roasland work on James?” Lord Lionheart looks at me.
“I asked for the best doctor to work on him. The burn he suffered looked pretty serious.” I get up.
“I am sorry Lord Lionheart. I think I need to go see Jame..s...” I stop feeling my head start to get dizzy. I fall to the table bracing myself. “No. Not now.” I look up seeing Lord Lionheart look at me concerned.
“Are you okay?” I fall over sideways rushing to the ground.
