Chapter 4

After 10 minutes of walking he found another goblin unlike last time he didn't hesitate he rushed forward with his dagger the monster saw him and its eyes went wide. but by then it was too late and he stabbed it right in the throat as the blood sprayed he heard a ding in his head.

“That's one more.“ he started thinking while walking past the goblin corpse ‘i haven't really used my stamina much i wonder if there's a way to utilize it like my mana.’ He couldn't continue with that distracting him so stopped walking and he sat down on the floor.

‘If my mana is in my solar plexus where would my stamina be’ he tried the first thing that came to mind. He focused on his heart and tried to find any sign of energy. After 20 minutes of trying he gave up. ‘So it's not in the heart, if not there where would it be?’

He started brainstorming, he knew the answer had to be in one of the stories in his catalog. After thinking for a while an idea came to him. ‘My mana comes from the solar plexus, isn't that the same location as the middle dantian in those Chinese wuxia novels?’

He wasn't a big fan of wuxia but he's read a couple cultivation manhwa so he knew the basics. ‘If my solar plexus is the middle dantian then the upper dantian should be in the brain and the lower one around my navel.’

He started meditating putting his focus on his navel after 5 minutes he found what he was looking for and a green strand of stamina came into view. He noticed a few things immediately first that it was far easier to control, almost instinctual in fact.

“No sense stamina skill huh?" He thought it was weird he would get sense mana but not sense stamina but he moved on for now. Next he tried to form a ball on his palm like mana light but the green strands completely refused to leave his body.

He then tried to make a stamina version of mana strike. He focused his thoughts on enhancing his hand but was surprised when he didn't need to. ‘So I don't have to put intent into it huh It seems enhancing is its default state.’

It worked almost instantly. It was like he was using a skill that was so easy. It felt off though, it seems that unlike mana strike just enhancing his hand wouldn't work. Instead he tried enhancing his entire arm and that worked far better.

He felt that the power boost was about 25% as effective as mana strike but it also increased the toughness and speed of his arm by about the same amount. He also felt that it wouldn't disappear if he hit something and also that he was burning about 5 points of stamina a second maintaining it.

He was surprised at its strength considering that he had lots of points in intelligence not to mention his title. He was about to see if he could put a different kind of intent into it but he stopped and he instinctively knew that he couldn't. “So it can only be used to enhance.”

He looked at his arm and he thought it was weird how natural wielding stamina was. It felt like he was using a limb that he's always had. ‘Is this some kind of ability I've always had and I'm just unlocking it now?’

He then tried to reabsorb it and he was happily surprised when unlike mana it worked. the points of stamina he had in his arm went right back into his reserves. He was again surprised when no new skill popped up. ‘I guess stamina just doesn't grant skills.’

It wasn't a big deal though with how easy it was to control skills wasn't really needed. He brought the stamina back to his arm and he kept feeling with stamina until he could no longer. He got a little over 25 points a second when he had to stop.

It wasn't a matter of control, no he felt like he could keep going but his arm was actually shaking at this point, he knew if he went any further he would injure himself, but even with just this the feeling of power was immense. But he didn't want to keep wasting his stamina so he quickly reabsorbed it. “So the more endurance I have the more I can enhance my body.”

This time he tried enhancing his entire body he felt stamina filling him. It was a noticeable increase in power but it was far less efficient than just enhancing his limbs. He tried just enhancing his legs. He was burning 5 points of stamina for each leg but he is way faster now.

He then used a mana strike and tried to use stamina to enhance it. He felt resistance from his mana so he infused it with the intent to combine. It worked after that but he wasn't burning stamina but instead directly injecting into the mana strike.

The blue mana turned cyan and darker with each point he put in. He felt the power increase by about 1% for every point of stamina his limit was 25 points the power he had in his hand felt unreal. Just like when he first learned mana strike he turned to the wall and formed a fist.

He punched it with everything he had and unlike last time where the stone wall just cracked it completely exploded this time. Fragments of stone flew everywhere a few hitting him and cutting his skin. He heard dings in his head as mana strike leveled up multiple times.

He looked at the wall in amazement but he also felt a fair amount of confusion. ‘This feels way too strong. I could already deal with slimes and goblins pretty easily and I'm still only f rank, but this…this feels far beyond that.’

He turned away from the destroyed wall and looked at his cuts. ‘If stamina enhances, does it increase healing too?’ He focused his stamina on the wounds and he started burning stamina at a rapid rate but he could visibly see the cuts healing.

When it was done took a glance back at the wall and then at his fist. “I wonder what else i'll be capable of in the future.” He smiled then sat down to meditate.
