A long time ago, back before anything ever existed, floating in the empty and desolate universe was the goddess Hygieia. The lone deity was hovering over the void, coming from no place, and going nowhere. The goddess, after roaming around for an infinite amount of time, unsatisfied by the lack of life, decides to create.
In the middle of space, she slowly began to move her arms and legs gracefully, moving her limbs with precise accuracy and elegance. As she was dancing, the light began to shine in the darkness. Then, a huge explosion occurred, which created an infinite array of stars, galaxies, and solar systems.
The Creation Dance.
Seeing her creation all around her, she was still not fully satisfied. The goddess wanted to focus on creating on a specific planet. After looking through hundreds and thousands of planets, she finally found one, having the perfect requirements for the sustainability of life.
It is here on this planet that has two moons that she began to work.
Continuing her dance, she created plants, both living on land and the sea. Tall, cedar trees sprouted out of the ground on her command, and vegetation quickly spread over the land, as far as the eye can see. Under the sea, corals form on the ocean floor, making the home of the future creatures that would roam around the vast oceans.
Next, she created the animals. Those that fly in the sky she made with a graceful movement of her hands, the animals that roam the land with a twirl of her petite body, and the beasts of the seas by tiptoeing over the still waters. In an instant, the planet was blooming with life.
Walking over the land, she saw the full beauty of her creation. From the numerous dragons flying in the air, playing with each other, to the boars that roamed across the ground, eager to explore their new home, and the fishes in the sea swimming across the waters, she witnessed it all.
But, deep down in her heart, the goddess still wasn't satisfied.
Despite everything she made, she was still feeling lonely.
But then.
A brilliant idea crossed her mind.
She would try to make a companion like her, one that had a conscience of its own.
Never in her existence has she tried to create human life before, but creating it in her image was a monumental task.
Nevertheless, the goddess went to work.
Moving her body once again, she made the ground rise, in sync with the rhythm of her dance. Slowly but surely, the ground that was caught up in her dance started to take shape, forming the head, torso, arms, and legs, almost in the likeness of the goddess. Inside, organs started to form, covered by bones that protect it. Human flesh appeared and spread rapidly on its surface. Finally, its facial features were formed, along with the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and hair.
Soon, the dancing goddess was accompanied by the first human being in existence. Both of them danced together until the last moment, wherein the goddess moved close kissed the man's lips.
Thus, he gained consciousness.
At first, she was happy, enjoying the company of her creation. After giving him clothes, she made him explore the land, climb the trees to eat off its fruit, and occasionally laugh when he accidentally falls. When night came, the man built a fire to warm them and a tent for the goddess to sleep in. Even though it was unnecessary, she nonetheless accepted the man's offer, so she spent the night there.
However, as time went on, it became increasingly clear that the man needed a companion. The goddess, after seeing the beauty of her creation, wanted to explore other worlds as well, but she could not leave the man alone on the planet.
She wanted to make a companion for the man.
So, for the last time, she danced.
Because the man showed attraction to the physical appearance of the goddess, she decided to make a human that was similar to her. With a twist of her body, the dirt on the ground started to cling together, piece by piece, until it formed the basic features of the human body. But, compared to the man's body, the goddess modeled the woman out of her own, giving her an ample bosom, wide hips, and a curvy rear.
Soon, the dirt sculpture started to move along the rhythm of her dance as well, as flesh started to spread all over its body. Her beautiful face formed, while long hair grew out of her scalp.
At last, after her final skip, the goddess planted a kiss on the girl's forehead, giving her consciousness.
The man, amazed at the sight, immediately fell in love with the woman. After the goddess gave the woman some clothes, both human beings began chatting with each other merrily, as if they were family.
The goddess, pleased to see the new couple, gave them and all the creations on the planet a gift to remember her kindness:
Magic.
A power that, despite being extremely weak compared to the goddess', granted the user control over all the elements of the world.
Everyone has access to the goddess' gift. Every single creature on the planet may use it, regardless of their race.
She commanded the humans to populate and fill the planet, taking care of all the creations of the goddess and ruling all over them while she was gone.
She commanded the man to rule over his future people, and in case he dies, his son is to take the throne as the next in kin. His family will be forever tasked with maintaining ruling over the human race. This was his mission.
For the woman, she commanded her to help and support her husband in every decision he makes. She is to bring forth new human beings through her womb and increase the human population to take care of her creations. This was her mission.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
After doing all these, the goddess bid one last goodbye to the couple, saying that if anything happens, they could pray and ask for her assistance, and she would always respond. She finally left the planet, eager to explore more worlds.
----------------------------------------
A few generations passed, and despite the first man and woman returning to the dirt, the human race flourished, and they quickly spread all around the world. Small groups of humans would band together to create villages, then these villages will multiply and turn into cities, and when cities multiply, nations formed.
Everyone was living happily in harmony.
However, despite this happy start to civilization, a tragedy struck the land.
One day, a lone human was traveling in the forest, eager to pick some fruits for his family. But, as he was climbing up the tree, a wild boar, infused with magic, violently attacked the helpless man, killing him instantly. News of this dreaded act spread out quickly amongst the villagers of the nearby town.
Eventually, more and more sightings of these wild beasts appeared. All kinds of animals with different species appeared with this form of dark magic. They were described to have long fangs and glowing eyes, with their rage-like appearances striking fear into the hearts of those who saw it.
Everyone simply called them Monsters.
Until this day, nobody knows how these foul beasts have come into existence. Some say that they were made alongside the goddess' creations and that they never appeared until their population increased, others might tell you that they were consumed with their greediness of magic, eager to obtain more of the deity's powers through extreme measures.
Then, the unthinkable happened.
One person named Desdone saw the advantages that these Monsters had. He thought that, if he could bring them under his command, he would finally have the manpower (or, in this case, monster power) to take over the entire world and rule it under his command.
With this conviction and determination, he began to work.
After a long, grueling, trial-and-error experimentation on the creatures, he finally manages to get them to obey him by infusing his body with magic. Once again, nobody knows how he did this, and to this day this event has managed to become one of humanity's biggest mysteries.
With the powerful army of a hundred thousand monsters now under his control, he went from city to city, burning, looting, and killing everything in sight. Not a single soul, be it women or children, were spared. He was known all around the world as "Butcher Desdone" for his actions.
The news of these events had reached the current king, a direct descendant of the goddess. Concerned not only about his country but for the entire human race, he called upon the leaders of all the nations to unite into a single, powerful country under his command to combat the threat. All of them agreed, and thus, The Human Empire was formed.
The soldiers of this new nation, however, lacked in experience with combat. Never before in history did another human fight over another, and it is in this inexperience that led to the repetitive defeats of the united army as Desdone's forces slowly advanced to the capital.
No matter how much these brave souls resisted, giving their lives to protect the goddess' creations from these monsters, It was all in vain as the monsters seemed to always come back. As one was struck down, another two replaced them on the battlefield.
The king, seeing how desperate the situation is, looked for ways to stall the advance of the invading forces. Until, one day, he remembered the promise of the goddess that was passed down from his ancestors.
If anything happens, call upon me for my assistance, and I will always respond, no matter what, no matter when, no matter where.
The king decided to try this out and pray to the goddess.
He ordered that night that all of the humans in the empire would join their hearts in praying to the goddess.
And so they did.
Every single person, regardless of gender, age, and color united in one heart as they send their prayers of help to the wandering goddess above. They all prayed fervently, hoping she would respond.
This event became known as the Night of Prayers.
Luckily, their prayers did not fall on deaf ears, for in the midst of traveling to different universes, Hygieia responds.
Hearing the cry of her people, she immediately postponed her vacation and came rushing towards the planet, despite still being in a bikini.
She saw the state of her planet, scarred and red with the fires of hell. Green pastures that she once danced on were now covered in the scorching heat, its fires spreading rapidly throughout the land. The only place that was not touched by this was a small circle where the majority of the humans lived. They were surrounded and are being pushed back and back, day by day.
The goddess was furious. Boiling anger like she's never felt before filled her body as she looked for the man responsible for this onslaught.
Desdone was resting in his tent that night, sound asleep. The next day was finally the big break: he would enter and invade the capital Elcor, and his plans for world domination would be complete. He was only one step away from his dreams.
The goddess managed to infiltrate his camp that night and went into his tent. He was not aware that the creator of the universe was inches away from him, prepared to deal the fatal blow to the evil being before her.
But, as the goddess prepares her hand to smite the man, she saw his face and stopped.
To many outsiders, Desdone was considered as the embodiment of evil in the form of a human being, yet all the goddess sees beyond the oblivious face was a broken man, unloved.
Desdone was once a baker and made a living by selling bread in his bakery. Every day he would open up his shop early in the morning and bake bread for the hungry customers that buy from his store as the sun rises. Everyone admired his baking skills and quickly made a name for himself in the entire village. Life was good to him at first.
One day, an old friend of his asked him if he could co-sign a loan, stating that if he didn't manage to pay for the loan, Desdone would be the one to back him up. Having been a long-time friend, Desdone immediately agreed, arguing that even if he runs off with the money, he would still have enough to pay it on his own. And so the contract was signed.
However, tragedy struck him, as his friend did run away with the money, betraying Desdone. What's even worse was that the loan was five times the amount he earned in a year. After a whole gruesome year of work to pay back the loan, he eventually failed and was forced to give up his business and his house.
He was left penniless in the streets, with not even a loaf to his name. For countless days he tried staying at his fellow neighbors, the very same ones who buy bread from his shop, but they never returned the favor, always driving him out wherever he goes. Eventually, he resorted to stealing to survive but was caught and put in jail.
This was the last straw for the man. He wanted revenge for everything that was done to him. He wanted to rule over these greedy people, those who only think about themselves. It was only a matter of time that he discovered the monsters, and by pure luck in a month had managed to get them under his control, leading up to the events of today.
After seeing the man's backstory, the goddess' expression softened, and her heart that was once filled with rage now felt pity for the broken man before her. She hugged the battle-ridden face as if it was her own child.
The goddess decided to spare and forgive Desdone.
However, this wouldn't be enough justice for all the crimes he committed, so she made the forces of the Human Empire win the decisive battle the next day, and with that momentum, they continued to push Desdone's forces all the way to the mountains, and until this day it remains the border between the Human Empire and the Monsters living beyond it.
The goddess invented the leveling system for humans to eradicate any further monsters that ever try to cross the border. To prevent another war from starting, the goddess appointed among the best of the best warriors in the land the title of "hero", wherein their physical and magical statuses are stronger than an average human's. She also made different jobs too, like the archer, the tanker, the witch, and many more.
After the dust settled and the Human Empire was starting to slowly recover from the horrors of war, the goddess once again departed from the world.
