Sirvaelin used to be a small town located on the outskirts of the Human Empire. When I first visited it, it was only just a rural village. It was small enough that I could navigate around it without getting lost.
Over the years, the town suddenly had a massive economic boost, mostly thanks to the influx of merchants that passed through it. Since monster activity dropped around the area, it became safer for people to travel to places near the border. Sirvaelin grew bigger and became a bit more advanced. At its current state, it is so big that the word "city" is a better description for it.
That's what I'll call it from now on. Sirvaelin City.
The walls were still in construction when I passed it. It's been three years since they started construction on it, and it was now nearing completion. I greeted some of the workers with a good morning.
The city was as alive as ever. The streets were covered with wagons, adventurers, and people doing their daily jobs. I was friends with most of the villagers, so on my way, I greeted every single one of them as well.
I was pretty famous among them, too. I guess it was to be expected since I never physically age, making me somewhat unique. Plus, I was friends with their ancestors too, so there's that.
I walked for about thirty minutes until I reached the town hall. I still remember this building was once made of wood and logs, but now it was coated in marble. It looked more like an actual town hall, in my opinion.
I went inside the busy place and making my way through the crowds of adventurers loitering around, I reached the counter.
"Good morning, Cana."
"Ah! Good morning, Miss Hisami Enatsu!"
The counter girl smiled as she greeted me.
This is Cana Flits, a demi-human with fox ears. She had short, bright orange hair. Her face is pretty, and the smile perfectly radiates her beauty. She was wearing the standard uniform that all the employees at the counter seem to wear.
She is the direct descendant of the late Hale Flits, the previous counter girl that I talked to, and introduced me to the basic mechanics of this world. She wasn't a demi-human though, meaning that her son married a fox girl and that gene passed on the family, resulting in the person I was standing before today.
The Flits seem to have a family history of serving in the town hall, and that tradition is still going strong today. If I recall correctly, Cana's little sister works here too.
"Is there anything I can do for you today, Miss Enatsu?"
"I would like to post an advertisement, please."
"Okay! Please wait here a moment!"
She bowed and went through the back door.
The Community Board is a big board full of advertisements, from adventure quests, job requests, and product promotion. People check this board to look for stuff they are interested in, and they take the advertisements off the board and bring it to the counter for them to accept. Product promotion ads can't be removed though.
The board was close to being full right now, but there were still a few vacant spots left. These spaces weren't at the center of the board though, where the sight of people normally land on, so I'm just hoping that my ad would get answered soon.
After a few seconds, Cana came back with the form and a quill.
I wrote down the following:
Wanted: Maid
Description: Looking to hire a well-trained maid who is willing to clean a mansion. The salary is 200g a week. Bonus payment will be allotted if the maid can clean pools. Food and shelter are provided, but the maid cooks food. Please contact Hisami Entasu for more information.
"This is an oddly specific job request," said Cana as she signed it. "Do you think anyone will respond?"
"I hope so."
I wasn't the best at writing ads, so all I could do is to patiently wait.
"I'll process it and put it into the board, Miss Enatsu. You can try to visit again tonight to see if there is a reply."
"Sure, will do. Thanks, Cana."
"No problem, Miss Enatsu!"
I left the town hall, in hopes of my job request being answered soon.

----------------------------------------
I spent most of my free time loitering around the large city. With this, I've also purchased an ample amount of t-shirts and shorts that emphasized my curves, so I could say that I am satisfied with how I spent my time.
It was night when I finished my shopping spree, just right after dinner time. After eating at a restaurant close by, I was prepared to head back home with a full stomach until I remembered the main reason I went to Sirvaelin in the first place.
The ad.
I took a detour and went straight to the town hall.
Even during the night, the place was as alive as ever. The room was filled with adventurers as they talked, laughed, and sang out loud. Some of them were even drunk.
It honestly reminded me of a bar.
Upon my entry Cana noticed me. She was waving at me to come towards her.
Oh?
That expression on her face seemed to be bringing good news.
"Good news, Miss Enatsu! Someone inquired of your ad today!"
"Really?"
It was too quick.
Normally ads like those take a week before it gets answered, but this was fast.
First a day off, now an immediate response.
How lucky was I?
"That's nice. Where are they now?"
"She said that she'll be back here by early morning tomorrow, so I suggest you come back here at the same time to meet her, Miss Enatsu."
"Well, If that's the case," I replied. "There's nothing I can do about it, so I'll meet her then. Do you have any idea as to where she went after?"
It would be more convenient for me if I could talk to her right now.
"Unfortunately not, Miss Enatsu."
"I see. That's okay."
Too bad.
Saying my thanks to Cana, I left and made my way home.
----------------------------------------
The next day, I left my house early and started to head towards the designated meeting place.
Ever since last night I've been thinking of a way to make a good first impression. The maid would be staying with me from now on, so I needed them to see me in a favorable view.
It was still dark outside. The night sky can be seen and the sun had yet to rise when I left my front door.
The city during the early hours of the morning was quiet, a contrast to its activity during the daytime. The lamposts were still lighted, and not a soul was seen wandering the empty streets, aside from me.
There were only a few people when I came inside the town hall. The majority of them were staff members.
Cana was at her usual place behind the counter, so I made my way towards her.
"Ah! Good morning, Miss Enatsu!"
"Good Morning, Cana."
"You came very early today, Miss Enatsu."
"I want to make a good first impression. Your shift starts this early?"
"I just got started a few minutes ago. More importantly," Cana said. Her fox ears were twitching (can she actually control how her ears move?) as she put on a playful smile. "I'm sorry to disappoint you for your efforts, Miss Enatsu, but the person who arranged the appointment with you arrived here first."
"Really?" I couldn't hide my surprise.
Cana laughed quietly. It was probably because of how I was stupendously opening my mouth in disbelief right now.
"She's by the corner right there," Cana said, using her hand to direct my gaze to a girl sitting at the corner chair of the room.
Wow.
She arrived first.
My efforts to be early were completely blown.
Why is she here this early, anyway? Is she seriously planning to wait for me there until the sun rose?
Good thing I came now, then. Otherwise, I would have been more embarrassed if I arrived later.
"Good luck Hisami~" I heard Cana whisper to me as I walked towards the girl.
She was sitting elegantly, drinking tea with her eyes closed. The way she sits straight on her chair and how she places her teacup and plate on her hap gave off an elegant vibe.
Calm and composed.
She was wearing a maid outfit, which further solidified the fact that this was the girl who answered my job request.
Her golden hair extended to her shoulders, decorated by a headband that fits her perfectly. Her physique was a bit older than mine. I'd say she was probably in her early 20's.
This world had severely twisted my perspective of age, so I was probably wrong about it.
I sat on the chair across from her. She still didn't move.
"Umm... Excuse me..."
She slowly opened her yellow eyes, meeting mine.
"Are you the one who answered my job request?" I asked.
"Yes, I am." She said in a cool voice. "Are you perhaps - "
At this, she placed down her tea on top of the mini table and produced a paper from her pocket. It was the advertisement Cana put up yesterday.
She held it up to her face and squinted, much to her dissatisfaction shown by her facial expression. She then took out a black case, opened it, and put on the small reading glasses that were inside.
How... Interesting.
" - Miss Hisami Enatsu?"
"Yup, that's me."
"I do apologize for my little action. My eyesight has recently been failing me these days," she said, putting back her spectacles in the case.
"That's okay. It won't hurt the quality of work you're offering, I hope?"
"I can assure you that it will not become a hindrance. However..." she said, examining me intently. "Should a teenager like you be hiring a maid all on your own? Where are your parents?"
Ahh, so that was bothering her?
She didn't know that I was an immortal witch. Maybe she was not from this city or any of the nearby villages.
"Aha, I get that a lot, but I'm actually older," I replied, which was technically true.
Maybe I'll tell her about my immortality sometime in the future, but not now. I still don't fully know if she was trustworthy or not.
"Forgive me, I was simply curious." She said with a smile. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nolamel Render, formerly of the Royal Palace's S-Division Maids. From now on, I'll be in your care."
She bowed.
W-Wait.
What?!
Royal Palace S-Division Maids?!
Those are the maids that were reserved for Royalty only!
Even me and the hero's party back then got the A-division maids serving us at best!
This girl is a professional. No, more than a professional!
It's no exaggeration to say that she is one of the best maids that this world has ever produced.
What a catch.
I didn't expect to be this lucky to find someone at this level who was willing to clean up the abomination that plagued my home.
I silently thanked the heavens for giving me this gift.
"My name is Hisami Enatsu. Professional witch. Probably the most powerful witch in the world. The people here refer to me as the Witch of Langle Field, the place where I live, but you can call me Hisami."
"Understood. It is an honor to serve you, Master Hisami."
Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
She called me master!
I have my own maid and she calls me master!
It was one thing to read about them in fiction, but it is another thing to personally experience having one!
"N... No need to call me master..." I said, trying to hide away my grin.
Actually, this is false. I was just being polite.
She may call me master anytime she wants.
And so, the contract was signed, as we both shook hands on it.
