When Marienne awoke, she looked around to find herself in a grassy field, with nobody in sight. She sat up and recalled the events prior, and tears began falling from her eyes yet again. She called for her mother and father, yet no one came to her rescue.
After crying until the tears wouldn’t come anymore, she saw that it was becoming dawn. She recalled the lessons of her parents, of the way an inheritor of the crown must conduct herself, and swallowed the emotions threatening to resurface. Yet, with no way of knowing where to go, she simply sat in the field and waited, hoping someone would show up.
Eventually, people did start to filter in, but whenever she thought about asking someone where to go or what to do, tears began to fall once more. By the time she had her emotions under control, it was almost midday, and now people were all around the park.
She was about to get up to ask someone where to go, but before she could even move, there was already someone standing right in front of her.

“Hi, I’m Erron.” The young boy stuttered out.
“Marienne” she said, her mind drifting back to the events of the night before. However, what the boy said next was so odd, it brought her right back to the present.
“Why do you have two pairs of wings?” He said.
She looked at him, wondering if he had hit his head or something, because in her mind humans obviously didn’t have wings.
“Forget it.” The boy said. “Mom always tells me that no one but me can see them”
With these words, she recalled a legend she heard of many times as a child, the legend of a certain clan of people that could see the manifestation of the soul of a person, a clan long since dead in her home. She began to hope that he too was a refugee of unfortunate circumstance, forced to come to this foreign world from her home of Andreia.
“Where are you from?” She asked, hopeful that she had found a kindred soul.
“Here!” The boy happily replied, sending her heart back down to earth from the dream of having someone to share her burden with.
“Oh” she muttered, disappointed.
Of course. She thought. It only makes sense that the clan could’ve existed in this world as well.
With that, she receded back into her thoughts, reflecting on the world she had left behind.
