When Erron awoke, his vision was filled with the face of Marienne, platinum blond locks shifting down her cheek. Her face, however, was twisted into a myriad of emotions, ruining the otherwise beautiful view. After a long silence of them staring at each other awkwardly, she began to speak.
“First of all, how do you know my name.” She demanded.
“Uh, you told me?” He said.
“No, I most certainly did not. She affirmed. “I told no one my real name, instead choosing to go by an alias for the entirety of my stay on earth.”
“Well, it was back when I was a kid, so I don’t know, maybe you forgot?” He said. “And moreover, what do you mean on earth?”
With those words, her face further twisted, a grim expression appearing on her face.
“We’re no longer on earth.”
With those words, Erron burst out laughing. The nonsensical words paired with an expression befitting a dying cancer patient created an unprecedented comedic effect in his eyes. After he stoped laughing and calmed down she looked at him once again.

“I’m dead serious. Look around.” She muttered, almost to herself.
Heeding her advice, Erron began to take in his surroundings. A suffocating silence settled over the two of them, for as he looked around he became more and more confused and startled.
In the immediate surroundings, they were sitting in the ruins of a large castle, rivaling that of the castles of ancient times. As he took in more he realized this castle was on a floating piece of lightly glowing rock, with an equally ruined city directly underneath. Overhead, he saw various species of what looked like dinosaurs, huge birds, and even what looked like a snake slithering through the sky.
“What the hell?” He blurted out, chuckling to himself out of hysteria.
“I’m sorry.” The girl said, “I didn’t think that I would be able to bring anyone with me.”
“Wait no it’s ok” he said his head starting to hurt. “Just take me back home and it’ll be fine”
“I can’t”
“What do you mean you can’t? How did you get here?”
“It was a spell. It was supposed to take me back home when I became an adult, so it brought me back here on my 16th birthday.”
“Well then why am I here?” He said, exasperated. He didn’t mean to, but his voice unconsciously rose as he said it.
“I don’t know. My best guess is that since I was touching you when I was transported, the spell transported you as well. But the spell needs mana to activate, and theoretically the humans of earth can’t harness mana, so it shouldn’t have taken you with me.”
With that, his mind instantly connected the dots. After all, there was only one thing he could do that other humans couldn’t.
“So I’m in this mess all because I can see peoples’ wings?” He said, mostly to himself, but as Marienne heard him, she too began to connect the dots of the series of events.
“Wait you’re the winged clan kid?”
“Winged clan?”
“It’s what your people were called in this world. I-
“Wait are you saying that I’m not the only one who can see them?”
“Well, to my knowledge, you are”
“But you just said that there were more of us!”
“Were” she said sharply. “They were wiped out long before I was born, and I’ve never met anyone on earth aside from you who can see them”
All this information at once has sent Erron’s head reeling, so much to the point that he began to question reality. Unfortunately, the truth refused to go away for even a second, and so he had no choice but to accept these series of events as reality.
