The following letter is part of the last will and testament left behind by an elderly Korean woman for her estranged daughter. It was returned unread by the young woman to her notary. The reason was the apparently d eep contempt the young woman held for her mother. According to her statements, she had suffered her whole life under the strictness and coldness of the old woman and eventually cut off all contact after one last, heated argument. Against the daughter's wishes, the notary retained the document in case the young woman would one day change her mind and want to read her mother's final words, and so the letter survived. In the end, I managed to obtain a copy. I have, of course, changed all the names to protect the a nonymity of the young woman from South Korea, to whom these words are addressed.
