‘I’m fucking dead.’
Abraham thought as he was watching several tentacles rising out of the ocean. The sea had become extremely chaotic, and the waves rose to be extremely gigantic, and it looked as if an enormous storm was taking place.
The waves looked completely otherworldly. They emerged like a wall accompanied by disgusting tentacles, and the ocean had descended to utter chaos.
But of course, this was no mere storm. Instead, something extremely vile was the cause. But, as for what it was, Abraham had no clue. He could only guess that it could be some squid-like creature from the tentacles. ‘This sort of reminds me of that famous tentacled fictional monster… whatever its name was.’
Abraham thought bitterly. He retracted his gaze from the rising tides that defied logic and focused his attention on the movement of the tentacles.
The tentacles themselves looked extremely horrendous, covered with deep blue scales on the top of the tentacles. It somewhat resembled a reptile. The tentacles themselves were around a meter broad and the size around 10 meters each. Albeit, there were some much larger exceptions.
However, at the bottom of the tentacles, vomit-inducing dense hair grew out. Each being almost the same size as the tentacles.
The number of tentacles looked almost endless as they slowly swallowed the sea. However, there was something strange. ‘Why the hell isn’t it attacking?’
Abraham thought, tightening his grip on his sword. His hands gripping the sword began bleeding, but he couldn’t care less about that. Currently, his focus was on the monster in front of him. Some time passed. It felt as if time froze for Abraham. He kept staring at the tentacles, ready to attack the second one approached him.
But that never happened. Instead, he froze on his spot, filled with fear. Gradually, he got a hold of himself. ‘This isn’t the time for me to be afraid… I need to first discern why that thing hasn’t devoured me yet. Hmmm.... perhaps...’
He suddenly got an idea. He put his sword back into the sheath and took out a bow that was tied to his back using clothes, along with the spear and a quiver holding about 30 arrows. The bow was made of dark metal and was about as big as his body. He took out an arrow from the quiver. And looked at a tree not too far away.
‘It should be far enough that I don’t get caught up in the aftermath. And hopefully, close enough so I don’t miss.’
Abraham aimed at a small branch on the tree. ‘Hopefully, these arrows are enough to pierce it. But oh well, it wouldn’t matter much even if they didn’t. It should cause enough noise either way.’

What Abraham wanted to test was whether the creature could respond to noise. But that was not all that he wanted to confirm. After all, he also had to make sure what the limit for the creature’s hearing was. That is, if it even had one. Thus, to Abraham, this brief experiment would prove vital for his survival.
‘Alright. No more delay. Let’s do this.’ After a moment of hesitation, Abraham drew the bow and focused straight on the branch. However, just as he was about to let go of the arrow, something strange happened. He felt all of his energy being sucked out of him. ‘Wha-’
He had no time to react. As soon as he left the arrow, it flew at a speed far greater than what an arrow would have achieved. It was almost like a bullet. Crack!
Accompanied by a loud bang, the sound of wood cracking into two echoed through Abraham’s ears.
He hurriedly turned his attention over to the tree. Turns out, he had missed the shot, and it instead hit the trunk of the tree. But that did not matter.
Currently, he was baffled by the damage the arrow had done. It completely pierced through the tree and caused an explosion of some sort.
Leaving the tree utterly destroyed. ‘Shit!’
‘I’m stupid! Why the hell did I even bother applying my world’s logic to this place!’ Abraham had a sudden realisation as he glanced over at the tentacles. As soon as he laid his eyes on them, though, he felt all the strength in his body fade away. ‘My god…’
Several tentacles intertwined together to form a monstrosity of tentacles and hair almost the size of a 10-story building. With the putrid hair sticking out from them, it looked horrifying. ‘How am I supposed to survive against that?’
Abraham’s eyes had lost all their hope. He fell to his knees. Staring at the Tentacled monstrosity like a madman. But this was natural. After all, he had never seen anything remotely similar to this before. It was terrifying, almost maddening.
The ocean trembled. Blood-crimson rays protruded through the cloud, giving the entire place an eerie and sinister look.
The black waters of the ocean shone with a crimson glow, reflecting from the sky; forming gigantic waves half the size of the monster being 15 around 15 meters each.
And several other smaller tentacles scattered throughout them.
The shadow of the massive tentacles loomed over the land as they dashed towards the broken tree with a speed so fast Abraham couldn’t keep up with his eyes. The tentacles hit the ground, utterly destroying that part of the land. Replacing it with debris and dark water. It left Abraham completely terrified. Unable to think straight.
He had seen several terrifying things in his life. But nothing came even remotely close to the madness of this creature in front of him. To Abraham, it looked as if… the devil himself had descended on the world. But of course, in reality, he wasn’t even scratching the surface.
The strange creature slowly scattered away into several smaller tentacles and the enormous waves scattered one by one. The black ocean had calmed down to a certain extent. Now with several tentacles and hair crawling through it.
This entire ordeal had left Abraham completely stunned. It took him quite a while to calm himself down. And when he did, he realised an important piece of information he had ignored. He looked over at the bow in his hands.
‘Interesting.’
Which was now completely cracking and looked as if it can break with a simple touch. His lips curled up into a smile and his eyes regained the hope they had lost.
‘Well, this changes everything.’
