Light and Shadow in City Sven-1 [Chapter 13]

The city of City Sven-1 trembled under the weight of the battle. The sun, barely visible through the clouds of dust, could hardly penetrate the smoke curtain surrounding the battlefield. Gunn, although wounded, remained standing, its mutilated body showing no signs of weakness. Its green, poisonous blood continued to spill from its wound, creating corrosive puddles that evaporated quickly.

Max, Jack'O, and Deff regrouped, exhausted but with determination written on their faces.

—We can’t keep up this pace! —Deff shouted, looking around while wiping the sweat from his brow—. Gunn isn’t stopping!

Max nodded, his eyes fixed on the mutated scorpion, which now seemed angrier than ever. He knew they couldn’t wait any longer. The city needed a final blow, something that would completely break the creature.

—We have to give it everything, now or never. —Max looked at his companions—. Saico, Punk, are you ready?!

The two young Elementals nodded without hesitation. They had learned much in the previous encounters, but they knew that what they faced now was their greatest challenge yet.

—Yes! —Punk replied, with his water sword gleaming under the city light—. There’s no turning back!

Saico, wielding his earth sword, moved forward. Despite the fatigue in his bones, he couldn’t allow Gunn to destroy what was left of his home.

—Let’s end this —Saico said with a firmness that surprised his companions.

Meanwhile, Gunn, although injured, continued its assault. The Elementals knew this was their moment. The scorpion was more vulnerable than ever.

Max, taking the initiative, raised his water sword and plunged it into the ground, channeling the power of the element to create a large wave that surged toward Gunn. The creature tried to defend itself, but the power of water was undeniable.

—Now, Jack'O! —Max shouted.

Jack'O, with his earth sword in hand, ran toward Gunn’s side, jumping with agility. With a loud shout, he drove his sword into the ground, creating a crack that spread toward the creature. The earth split, leaving Gunn vulnerable.

—That should keep it busy! —Jack'O exclaimed.

Deff seized the opportunity. With his air sword, he created gusts that took down the last remnants of the mutated birds, ensuring they could no longer interfere. Now, the field was clear, and the focus was on Gunn.

But the most important moment was about to come. Saico and Punk, at the same time, moved toward Gunn. Saico, using his earth manipulation skills, began to form a large platform beneath him. He launched himself upward with great force, reaching Gunn’s abdomen while Punk formed a water barrier around him.

The mutated scorpion tried to strike with its stinger, but Saico was faster. He used his earth sword to strike the weak spot in Gunn’s abdomen, piercing its mutated armor with deadly precision.

—Now or never! —Saico shouted, as Punk, with impressive skill, used the water to neutralize the poison oozing from the wound.

Gunn let out a deafening roar, but the battle was not over. Its body began to thrash, trying to free itself from the Elementals. Its wings spread wide, and one last poisonous attack shot out toward them. The pressure was overwhelming.

—Everyone back! —Max ordered, creating a massive wave of water that surrounded his companions.

In that moment, Jack'O and Deff attacked simultaneously, using their earth and air abilities to trap Gunn. The combination of elements restricted its movement, leaving it open for a final strike.

Flow, who had been using her fire sword to keep Gunn at bay, quickly approached. With her blazing skill, she launched a huge fire explosion, creating a wall of flames that surrounded Gunn, restricting its movements even more.

—Now! Full power! —Flow shouted, as her sword became engulfed in intense flames.

Max, with a determined yell, raised his water sword and launched a powerful slash toward Gunn’s heart. The water wave pierced the creature’s chest, halting the flow of poison and finally bringing Gunn down.

The creature fell to the ground, its body writhing before it stopped moving. Gunn had been defeated.

But the victory was not celebrated with joy. The city was still in danger. The effects of the poison were still present, and although Gunn had fallen, the Elementals knew that the threat had not completely vanished.

—We’re not done yet —Max said, breathing heavily—. Now we need to protect the city from whatever comes next.

The battlefield fell silent, but the Elementals knew this was just a small victory in the war still ahead.
