Rehabilitation - 8

Lysander Endendyk... had changed.

The him before I regressed had been a spoiled, bratty, and mostly, evil brat.

But, the one that I had just met was worlds different.

First was his personality.

No longer was he throwing everything against the wall and going off on temper tantrums.

No, this version of Lysander was dignified, calm, polite, and kind, like a true noble.

Second was his interests.

The previous version of him had only wanted to live life whilst chasing the most pleasure possible, but, the one here, now, was studious, and, from what I had just witnessed, had a strong will to get back up from a defeat.

I mean, who would have thought that the debauchery from his past version would be replaced by actual literature in this version? If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would have never believed this.

Finally, there was his observation skills.

I mean, even the other master assassins couldn't tell whenever I was lying or not, but a kid no older than 10 could?

And, from the way he looked at me, it was like he could read my thoughts!

Also, for some reason, he accepted me into his inner circle quite quickly.

This was all very confusing, a stark contrast to the predictable actions of Lysander's past version.

But, even with all of this, he was still going to become a demon in the future.

So, I had to watch him closely.

Maybe, just maybe, this time, I would be able to stop him from ruining himself.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

After all, he had already showed me himself that he could.

Now, as his maid, my job was to just push him in the right direction.

And then, maybe Evangeline could be truly happy.

After all, she was never the same after she killed Lysander...

I woke up in the morning to the same gray atmosphere.

'Honestly, with this much dullness around, I can't help but wonder how the residents of this place even keep their sanity?'

'Well, I guess I already lost a bit of my own, so... I really can't say anything.'

The sound of the door to my room opening shook me out of my thoughts, as I watched Char bringing a tray of food to me.

Yesterday, I had been strictly on a diet of liquid food, but now that she was sure that I was feeling better, she brought me porridge instead.

But, honestly, for me, porridge was worse than liquid food.

I mean, porridge was basically as bland as this place was dull.

Thankfully though, Char had promised that she would feed me real food as soon as I could take my own first steps again.

Well, after I finished my breakfast, which I had Char feed to me, I quickly headed towards the training room.

Along the way, I passed by several windows that the cold air could blow into, and saw that the blizzard was still fucking raging outside, and there was nothing I could do about it.

I mean, would it kill the weather gods to give me some respite so that I could just walk around a little bit and get some fresh air?

Anyways, once we reached the practice room, I found that Gwen was already there, so we directly proceeded with the training.

After the training, they washed me up, Gwen brought me some books, and then I read until I fell asleep.

Char would then carefully take the books off my bed before going to sleep herself in my room.

This was the basic schedule that we followed for the rest of this month and the next month.

Sometime in between these two months, I was able to walk without the help of either women.

After taking my first steps, the first thing I did was ask Char to prepare me a steak dinner, as I was so fucking done with porridge. I didn't want to see a single bowl of it in front of me for the rest of my life!

Well, after that day, I trained with the addition of having to walk myself to the training room and back, often having to lean on the cold castle walls for support whenever I was too tired.

And then, right when I was able to run for a solid 30 minutes, I stopped the training, as that was all I needed for now.

Satisfied with how far I had progressed, I looked at my stats for the first time since I woke up.

[Name: Lysander (No last name, disowned)

Class: Demon

Titles: None

Strength: 3

Stamina: 4

Agility: 3

Intelligence: 8

Skill: "My Word is the Law"]

Back before I started my training, my strength, stamina, and agility stats had all been at 1, so, this was a huge improvement compared to back then.

I mean, it was still subpar, as the average adult would have stats averaging 5 even if they hadn't been awakened yet.

My intelligence had stayed the same though, but, if somebody looked at my intelligence alone, I would be considered a one in a million genius.

After all, stats in this world were on a scale from 1-10, so an 8 was extremely high, a level of intelligence that only the greatest mages could reach.

Then, there was also my skill, which perfectly complimented my high intelligence stat.

Actually, I had been surprised when I first saw this skill, as it wasn't the skill that the original Lysander possessed, but I was happy nonetheless.

After all, this skill was extremely powerful if used the right way.

You see, this skill made it so that I could cause anything to happen, as long as I had enough intelligence.

The range from the target and the power of the target were also taken into account, so, the skill clearly had its downsides.

Like, if I tried making Char do something right now with my current stats, I would end up coughing up blood and using some of my own life force instead.

That was why, right after I could run for an acceptable amount of time, I had dropped everything and just focused on reading more and more books.

And then, finally, I had been able to raise my intelligence stat by .1 points.

But now, I had to start the second part of my plan, as the slave auction was going to happen in a week.

It was time to go and save Saria.
