Avalon Kingdom, one of the three major powers on the Dracoia Continent. Placed on the northern west of the continent, it was next to the Legendary Ancient Kingdom and the Mythical Dragon’s Holy Lands that were on the western most end of the continent.

Being a major power means powerful military might and influence. Avalon Kingdom have powerful defense fortresses that act as the guardians to the borders that separates them from the other two major powers, but this didn’t mean that the three major powers are in any kinds of conflicts. This just shows how much power they had. Just to show off to each of the other major powers.

But there’s a certain fortress that was being heavily funded by the Avalon Kingdom, just to make sure to strengthen it, and not make it fall. The fortress is not used to guard against human invaders or other powers. It was to defend against the ‘Monsters’ that was coming from the ‘Dragons Holy Lands’.

It is placed in the middle of two mountains, with a large river running in between. The ‘Frontier Fortress City • Monmouth Fortress’ was built here. In the west of the fortress was the direction to the Avalon’s Capital City and to the West is the one that’s needed to be guarded. The west has three Monsters breeding place that were being cleaned off its Monster in intervals. on the southwest is the ‘Scalli Swamps’, on the west is the ‘Ogros Jungle’, and the most dangerous one, on the northwest is the Pighead Forest.

Because of this, all the peoples of Monmouth, even the average citizens of it, are able to fight on an acceptable level. Adding to the fact that it was being heavily funded by the Kingdom, even though it was in a remote place and a frontier fortress at that, it was one of the most successful places you want to be, especially to the people that want to have a career based on their strength.

But they don’t know that something will only be revealed about what will about to transpire in the future.

“Wow!~ It sure is beautiful even though it’s already night.”

“This fortress is quite advanced, I might say. Those street lights are being connected to each other by Magic Circuits to only have one source for all of it to light up.”

Messiah was taking to me telepathically because we’re having our dinner just outside of the Inn, and there are people here too eating with the same reason, probably. It was quite loud as many adventures, mercenaries and hunters are lodged here. A lot of them seem to only finish their task because a lot of them are quite merry while drinking their booze.

“Now that I can relax, I just realized how wonderful this place is. There are so many things that I’m not familiar with.”

With a flicker of light, having Wendy floating around me adds to the unique ambience of this fantasy world. The scenery of unworldly races walking around without the slightest of awkwardness, the aura they express just by being there makes me realize that this is not the world I use to be in.

“Nyallo~ Big Brother Carlos nyah~, here’s nyour~ meal nyah~. Enyjoy~ it nyah~.”

“Wow!~, that’s a lot! It looks good too! Thank you, Carol. Give my regards to Auntie Bridg and your father.”

“Got it nyah!~”

What I got is a whole Grilled Pork Steak. The smell of the marinated sauce and meat juice sure is good! With a huge mug of beer, it was a very delicious dinner.

“Wow!~ That was delicious~ You can’t underestimate fantasy world with their cuisines.”

As I was eating, it obviously comes to listening to what was currently going on within the fortress again, to be more specific, what topics are currently being talked about for today.

There was a humor about Adventurer’s Guild and Mercenary Guild having a little conflict, the unusual small number of Monsters in the Pighead Forest and the suspicious movements about a certain noble. No other humor was worth mentioning, but a lot of this small humor seems to be connected one way or another to the slums.

“Well, let’s turn for a night now. I have to experience how the Inn here is.”

“Umu.”

After saying my goodnight greetings with Carol and Auntie Bridg, I head straight to my room.

It is 9:47 pm now. It became my habit to sleep at 10:00 pm after coming here. I learned the importance of waking early after doing that long journey.

“I should plan my schedule for tomorrow.”

“You really don’t have urgent task tomorrow. After having you registered as an Adventurer, you will need to familiarize and slowly learn how this Kingdom works, or for now, how things work here in the fortress, Young One.”

Messiah stopped using ‘Telepathy’ as we’re in our room now. It seems quite secured in terms of soundproofing. It should be okay for Messiah to talk now.

“Yeah, you’re right. I should check out all kinds of Guilds here too. The Economical and Social System here kinda work around guilds. I even heard that the Citizen Office here also runs like a Guild.”

That’s right. I don’t know if this is how the whole kingdom runs, but for this fortress in particular, there are a lot of Guilds and I really mean it when I say a lot.

I can kind of categorize them in my own way. They’re not official names, it’s just to simplify. There’s the Protector’s Guilds (Adventurer’s Guild, Mercenary Guild, Hunter’s Guild, Fortress Guardian Knights, Fortress Army Barracks, Private Army Clans, etc). There also the Commercial Guilds (Merchant’s Guild, Street Stalls Association, Peddler’s Organization, etc) and the last one, the Crafting/Art Guilds (Blacksmith’s Guild, Tailor’s Association, Cuisine Workshop, Painter’s Guild, Jewel Smith Workshop, etc).

All this can be considered private and government departments, as the Masters that runs all this guilds are founders without the kingdoms help, but it was officially under the law now that these guilds are mandatory to work with the Kingdom.

And because of all of this, even with a Frontier Fortress City like this, the safety and management was so good. Well, all governance is not perfect. This Fortress City still has the Slums Area.

“It’s alright, Wendy! You’re the cutest spirit out there!~ And, wait!? I didn’t say that out loud, right Messiah?”

We got out of the Inn when the fortress’s second bell rang. It means that it’s currently 9:00 am. The rush hour of the first bell should be finished by now. The adventurers should be taking their tasks or quests by now, and the guilds tavern should the only one that has some people by now.

The Adventurer’s Guild was not very far from the Inn. It was one reason why I selected Cat’s Comfortable Inn. It was only a 10 minutes’ walk and it only took two corners turn to arrive there.

The Adventurer’s Guild was a three story building. The ground floor was the Reception Lobby and the Tavern, while the second floor seems to be the Employee Office, Storage Rooms and Party huddle room and having the third floor as the Executive Hall, Round Table Meeting Room and the Guild Master’s Office.

I then entered.

It was like a reception hall you can see in a rural area that was well maintained. The tavern on the right side was not really crowded, but you can still say that it has a lot of people. The bulletin board has the tasks or quests you can take, but it was not the typical type that tears the paper then submitting it to the receptionist. Each task or quest listed have a corresponding number with them, this number will be then taken to the receptionist as they have the copy of the task/quest details. It was quite good system, I might say.

I made my way to the receptionist. I get some looks, but they then lose some interest after a few seconds. I completely made sure that my equipments don’t stand out and not too mediocre to be belittled. I’m equipped with a Rare Grade equipment set that was focused on stats and neglected its design. It’s not that bad looking, but it was also not eye catching.

I finally reached the male middle aged receptionist. Even for a fantasy world, it still follows how the real world’s works, huh? I would really appreciate if it was a erotic big sister type receptionist.

“You’re so obvious at the most weirdest point, Young One.”

Alright, I get it!~ Sorry about that. I didn’t even talk, let alone looked at Messiah’s way. How can he know that?~

“Hello mister, I would like to register as an Adventurer.”

“Welcome to the Monmouth Adventurer’s Guild. You would like to apply for a registration to be an Adventurer, is that correct?”

Wow!~ Talk about being professional. Well, this is good too. It’s easier, and less foreshadowing.

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Alright, please fill up this parchment. The one’s that are marked Red is mandatory, it needs to be filled, but it doesn’t mean that you should answer it accurately. If you’re not comfortable with sharing the mandatory details, you can fill it out with fakes ones, just make sure to remember this fake details. This is for formal documentation. Thank you for understanding.”

This is really not your typical registration. I really want to know now how do the novels author came with the idea that guilds like this should only be filled with muscle heads.

I filled up parchment with some information. The ones that are marked Red are the ‘Name’,’ Age’, ‘Gender’, ‘Race’ and ‘Hometown’.

I just put in my name ‘Carlos’ because my last name ‘Von Alexandros’ stinks of noble dignity and it would be troublesome if someone took interest and investigate its origins. They would not find anything though.

For age, I put in ‘20’, ‘Human’ for Race and ‘Male’ for Gender. For the Hometown, I just put in ‘Avalon Kingdom’.

“Thank you. We will now get your information from our ‘Lord God Shelzards Records’. That would be 5 Copper Coins and the Guild Card will also be processed.”

Oh! We will get in contact to one of ‘Shelzards Records’. It will definitely be integrated to my Game System as long as Messiah does his thing.

“I have expected as much, the system of how this country works is very sophisticated. They are probably being influenced by their ‘Gods Records’ directly.”

Messiah whispered in my back, as I continue the process.

“I got it. Here’s 5 Copper Coins. What should I do?”

“Thank you. Just put your Mana in this Altar”

Mister receptionist pulled out a small looking altar that was fit to the size of hands. I can see that it was connected by some kind of cables to a same looking altar at the back, but this one is so much bigger than the one in the counter.

I then put the smallest amount of Mana I can once again. The small altar then lit up a little, and then the light travelled through the cables with its destination as the big altar at the back. Mister receptionist then walked to the big altar and activated something. After 3 minutes a card was then discharged from a small cut in the big altar. He then came back to me.

“Here’s your Guild Card. It does not have a rank yet, as we will take the test to determine your rank after this. You can view your details using the Guild Card base on our Lord Gods Shelzards Records. Your Guild Card details can’t be viewed by anyone else without your permission. You can share your details with the Guild later for Rank Test as it can be one factor to determine what will be your Rank. You can check your details now. You just need to clearly think of your own details and it will appear inside your head”

I then took my Guild Card and did what Mister Receptionist toll me to do.

Then a familiar Transparent Game Window appeared. And this time I was shocked as to what appeared.
