Chapter 3: Society & Religion

                                                           SOCIETY & RELIGION

Society needed answers as to who the flying man was. Was he an allied? Was he an enemy? If he was an allied, then why is he murdering criminals without trials? Why is the unknown man defying all laws? Religion could not answer those questions. Those believing in the unknown man’s actions were called the Angelics. Those treating the unknown man like a criminal were called the Demonics.

With every news report sighting of the flying man, and the recorded video spiraling in the web, the two sides became increasingly divided. No voice of reason could control the masses. The media was going out of control.

Only darkness awaits in this City.

With gun violence at an all-time high, and murder a common sight for the common folk. A series of kidnappings has been ravaging this city for years. Every year the police got missing person reports, but those missing person reports wouldn’t usually turn to kidnapping cases. Sometimes, the person that went missing would come back on their own, sometimes with a little effort on the police officer’s part, the missing person would be found, hiding at a best-friend’s house, or at a cabin or such scenarios. But that wasn’t the case anymore.

If someone was missing in this city, it would certainly mean one of three scenarios. One, they were kidnapped. Two, they were killed and the body just haven’t been found yet. Three, they committed suicide. Suicide cases have increased as well as kidnapping cases. Kidnapping cases were done to spread drug and hard labor. It took time to wrap the drugs in paper and arranged them in materials that would render them undetected by anyone that did not know it was in that particular material. All of which took time to be accomplish.

Human labor has become an issue this city was facing. When the markets went down twenty years, the drug market only got wider and more influential. Certain ships that arrived at the port have drugs on them. Even though the police station knew that, they could not stop it from happening. Drug addicts could easily be found everywhere. People throughout the city would use drugs. It was a new type of drug. A drug that gave you a bring new high, and lasted longer as well. The kidnapped were forced in labor to mass produced those dangerous drugs. The drug was so wide spread, that addicts from other cities over, would come to buy. Ever since this drug entered the city, what little money someone worked hard to make, went to buying that expensive drug.

The station tried to find the whereabouts of the kidnapped multiple times, but never found their base of operations. It might be that the police station is lacking capable investigation teams to search for the kidnapped, or it could be, the group known as Lavadoll who has been mass producing the drug throughout the city, has most of the police officers in the station in their pockets. They pay them on a weekly basis to keep a blind eye and let things slide.

Therefore, Lavadoll compound was never reported or found. The cops that get pay by Lavadoll kept their mouths tight and didn’t allow so much as a rumor of where their compound could be out. Lavadoll continued to rampage the city. Broad daylight, night time, in the morning, in the afternoon, time meant nothing at all for Lavadoll. They would sell the drug at any time and any day.

Lavadoll quickly rose as the number one thing the station have to put a stop to. Everyone at the station knew that, but they all knew there was nothing that could be done to put a stop to Lavadoll. It would be a dream come true if they ever found their compound, that is if they don’t end up shot by the same cops they consider friends.

There was this pressure at the station. No one trusted anyone. No one could be sure of anything. Everyone was under suspicion. Everyone was quick to blame another person for anything. Searching for Lavadoll was a suicide mission in and of itself. But on that particular Saturday night, a suicide mission was called to the station. A miracle or a nightmare, whatever you choose to call it happened. The unexpected happened, Lavadoll was found. But not by the station but by the unknown man.

A call was received. A person talked and said they were rescued by a man dressed all in white. A flying man, they said. They gave the police station the description of their location, and cops surrounded the Lavadoll compound. But no arrests were made that day. The Lavadoll compound was found, but there was not a single living person inside. All the Lavadoll members were killed. Their throats were slit, and their heads cut off.

Interestingly, one Lavadoll member, presumably the leader, had his body severed in several places. His arms, legs, and his ribs were bended in the most unusual and quite disgusting fashion. His head was still attached, but his throat was slit. The unknown man changed his MO. His MO started with that young lady. He killed off her attackers and gave them quick death. But this time, he did not. He tortured a man, severed multiple part of his body, and cut off different individuals’ heads.

The unknown man was getting rougher and rougher as time went on. In a matter of one week, his MO has completely undergone a drastic change. In this dark city rule by madness and evil, a necessary evil was born from its womb. A necessary evil to stop all evil. The revolution has already begun. From the moment, the flying man was recorded in that video, the city was watching, the world was waiting, and all the evils grew angrier.
