With 13 clones out searching for the den, I was bound to find it sooner of later. In the meantime, I Looked at my [Soul Script] again. I hadn't noticed it back at the village, but most of my stats had gone up by about 50% or more. some had gone up by 120%! It's crazy to suddenly be more than twice as fast and strong as you used to be. I reveled in my new speed, using it to fly through the forest.
My enhanced awareness and multiple minds meant that even though I was moving through an area five times faster than before, I was actually more effective at searching for traces of goblins. It took a good ten minutes to find some footprints, but then the game was on. Thirteen of me followed the trail, watching as more and more footprints joined in.
I was looking at a good 70 goblins just out and about. This den was WAY bigger than they thought. Not that I was gonna tell the people in the village that. Why have them call for some other adventurers when I can just kill them all myself?
Now, I'm not underestimating these things. They are perfectly capable of killing me if I let my guard down, or get get unlucky. Thing is, it doesn't matter if all of my [Clone]'s die. They're [Clone]'s!
After following the footprints for a while I begin hearing noises. I found them. Smiling to myself, I approach the camp as silently as possible. When the den comes into view I immediately upgrade it from 'den' to 'camp', because I count upwards of 500 goblins here. Perfect.
As silently as possible, I use a single [Clone] to walk out of cover. I wait for something to spot it, to fry out, to attack. Nothing does. The goblins are all weak enough that my skill perfectly conceals me from them.
How should I handle this? Should I walk right in and begin fighting? Or should I pick them off the instant they wander out of sight? The second option. It'll make my life so much easier.
I spread myself out across the edge of the camp, waiting for any to go to the bathroom. It only takes a few minutes before one does. I follow it until it stops, then rip it's head off. It's just a bit smaller than me, wearing only a bit of cloth around it's privates. Many would describe it as cute. I would agree.
Too bad it's fun to kill them.
One by one, I kill goblin after goblin. I manage to kill 30 of them before one of the larger one's notice something's up. It sends out three party's of 10 to find the missing goblins. I ambush and kill the first one with all 13 of my [Clone]'s, then the second as it's coming back from finding a body. The third one makes it back though.
They speak to the other goblins about what they found, and the alarm is raised. The goblins hold a meeting of sorts in the center of the camp, and all those that were late got caught by me. A goblin standing a full foot taller than the others did some sort of speech, during which I killed a few near the back. I felt a change ripple through me after the 9th one I assassinated, so I opened up my soul book with my main body.

Then the changes kicked in, and everything exploded. I could feel my mana flowing through my body, I could feel the mana around me, I could SEE. I felt like my nerves were on fire, and the pain that should've come from my first stat change exploded through me now. My skin hardened and my cells themselves became more dense.
Back near the village I added 18 points to strength and 17 points to agility. My body changed again, becoming better in every way. Well, every way except toughness.

My head's were getting crowded. All thirteen clones in the camp hid behind something, or in a tent. I immediately regretted entering the tents and got out. I quickly spawned 13 more clones, doubling my number. Then two more from the first two that finished.
Now everybody has three minds! Well, three minds in each body. The goblin meeting seems to have adjourned, they're spreading back out into the camp. Judging by that shriek, one of the body's was found.
I smile, basking in the sudden panic that grips the camp.
I take advantage of it of course, killing another 50 something goblins incredibly quickly. The goblins rush back to the center, now armed with wooden weapons, a few bearing iron knifes they scavenged from somewhere. I see goblins with bows and arrows, goblins with swords, goblins with shields, goblins with spears, and a single goblin bearing a staff.
I split up into 5 groups. Two groups of ten to meet them at the front, while three groups of three circle around to attack them from different spots in the rear. I announce my presence with a loud shout, garnering the attention of the goblins. Before they manage to form a defense, I attack with both groups.
I kill 5 right off the bat, then it's a dogfight between me and the remaining 300+ goblins. Way better than the previous 500+, but still not great. I suffer many injuries, with one clone even losing his life! The back line is beginning to resemble an actual back line, though the front line's still a mess. I choose this moment to strike.
In one swift motion, I attack the leader, the one with the staff, and the largest group of archers. These are the groups likely to cause me trouble in the long run, so let's take them out before they become annoying.
The staff guy dies instantly, so that group just starts tearing into all those around them. The archer group falls similarly quickly. The leader doesn't die instantly, and actually notices me approaching him! Unfortunately for him, he only notices two of me. The third attacks him from behind, knocking him into the two he was preparing to fight. I begin ripping it apart, my smile having never left my face.
Picture this.
Three smallish children with the happiest grin, huddled around a thrashing goblin bigger than them as they tear it apart. Blood coating their naked bodies while their red eyes gleam with delight. Chunks of flesh flying off into the distance, the scream of the goblin leader echoing throughout the forest.
I even heard it back at the village! Oh man, the villagers are gonna have a lot of questions. I'll just say it was only like 20 goblins that me and my twin killed together.
I looked up from the dead leader with all three of my bodies. All the goblins around me had frozen in fear. They were dead before they knew what hit them. At this point, the goblins stopped trying to fight back. They just ran. They ran as fast as their little legs could carry them.
It wasn't fast enough.
I caught them all. I ripped and tore my way through them, until none were left standing. Only me. All twenty eight of me. Now that combat was over, I ransacked the camp. I took the iron weapons, one of which was still in the head of a dead [Clone]. After pulling it out the [Clone] dissipated in a purple mist.
Was that purple mist magic? I mean, my [Clone]'s are magical. I shrug. It saves me the time of having to clean up my own dead body. Now. What to do with this mound of corpses?
I gaze out at the sea of blood and gore with twenty eight pairs of eyes. How on earth am I gonna submit proof of this? Maybe the Quest can help me. It might've been recording or something. I pull out my [Soul Book] and flip to the Quest.
608/20+ Goblins Killed.
Great! Now, I know I leveled up while chasing down the remaining goblins, so I have stat points to assign.
