Then a searing pain shot from my eyes throughout my entire head, as I collapsed to the ground in mind-numbing pain. Then within a few moments, the pain was gone. I got up and looked in the mirror to see my once blue eyes now glowed with a golden hue. I then left my suite seeing Johnny in the distance. Within that moment I could see him a few months into the future getting tested for his compatibility. He received an S-class benefactor, the dark serpent Untal. Then time sped up years later with Johnny being an S-classed Chosen, who bore signs of the corrupted. His skin turned a dark grey, and black jagged lines were scattered all over his body. He became even more ruthless than before his testing. Rather than protect the fortified city from the corruption he stalked and killed the very people he was tasked to protect. Anyone weaker than him was his target, and being S-classed his prey was readily available. Thousands died at his hands before he could finally be taken down by three S-class chosen.

Now being back in the present, I instinctively knew he was already on his path to this potential and that if I did nothing, he would attain it. “Yo Taylor!” Niko yelled as I was trying to come back to my senses. I looked at him and it happened again. This time within an instant, I was able to see a boundless potential within him. Thousands, no millions saved by his hands. He was stronger than any S class chosen I had ever heard of. Then the path he needed to take hit me, the path that I needed to push him through, and the horrid things I’d need to do to get him there, came all at once. Without realizing it, my face molded into one of disgust, knowing what I needed to do. He needed to experience something horrific to unlock his true power. In order to help my best friend I needed to betray him in the worst way, and I needed to use Johnny to do it. Misunderstanding my demeanor Niko got pissed off and exclaimed “You know what, fuck this, I’ll see you at the testing tomorrow. I’m going back to my room!” as he stormed off.

To impress your benefactor, you’ll need to make sure, you truly put Niko in his place, and make him hate the day he was born. The only guidance I can give you on this is that he will be declared unchosen tomorrow after the ceremony, and that is the time you need to strike. He is sweet on Anita so make sure you use her to make this happen. The rest you will have to come up with on your own.” I said, interrupting him. “I have the perfect plan in place I’ll make sure we celebrate Niko’s new status to the fullest extent.” Johnny said as he walked away more upbeat than I have ever seen him before.
