Dan's room was littered with half finished paintings, drawings and DIY projects. Dan was just putting some finishing touches on his last miniature when

Dan almost fell off his chair from surprise at seeing a floating blue box jump-scare him.

Suddenly Dan was engulfed by white light and he appeared in a plane white room whit his mother patiently standing at the center of the room

"What just happened?" Dan asked

"you were transported to a separate time dilated space bubble" Dan's mother answered in a calm voice

"What?" Dan asked dumbly

"say, have you red any of those fantasy books where the universe is invaded by a system that gives everyone stats, classes and skills?" his mother asked instead.

"No, I've always thought they were dumb."

"well, i guess that means this will take a bit longer" his mother said

"what will take longer?"

"You may ask me any question and i will answer to the best of my ability." Dan's mother said instead of answering,

"why are you talking like that mum?"

"i am not your mother, i simply took a form you are familiar with."

"the who are you?"

"i do not have a name, but I am an avatar of the local system of this universe"

"and, what is the system?"

"the system is a way to quantify different parts of reality as well as a way to empower to local universe utilizing potential"

"what is potential?"

"Potential is a building block of reality, it is like unspent energy, useless unless turned into something more useful"

"something useful like what?"

"there are many use for potential, but the most powerful and common of them are records"

"and what exactly is that?"

"records a solidified form of potential, it could be considered refined in a sense. Everything has records, they enhance what they are attached to in a manner fitting the way they were created, for example if you do archery, you will gain some potential when learning new things or improving, that potential gets partially turned into records on you and the bow you are using. After decades of using that bow and learning archery you have enough records about it that even if you were to loose all your memories and thus knowledge of how to do archery, you will still be a master at it."

"so, without records we couldn't learn anything?"

"not exactly, learning is dependent on many factors, but records do improve your prowess so it does enhance your learning efficiency."

"so, why tell me all this?"

"because your survival and progression in power are of great import to me."

"why?"

"All systems run on potential, most of this is gathered when someone improves at a skill or gains a level in their [Class], [Profession] or [Race]. we gather that excess potential that would go to waste and channel it into various things to empower our universe, while this is where a lot of our potential comes from, the vast majority comes from people such as you."

"what do you mean?"

"you are a [Origin bloodline Patriarch] are you not?"

"i don't know."

"well, you are, and bloodlines generate a feedback loop generating immense amounts of potential, and were you to achieve godhood, i would be guaranteed a permanent source of great amounts of potential, not to mention your offspring would have similar capabilities as you."

"so im a potential battery?"

"if you wish to phrase it that way, then yes."

"what do i get from having a bloodline?"

"bloodlines can give various benefits to you as well as your descendants, especially origin bloodlines like yours. However the reason you are here now is because your bloodline does not have any effects."

"WHAT?"

"do not worry, this is normal for people in new universes, and we are here to fix that, simply focus on you most core ideals and wishes and i will do the rest in guiding the potential."

And so Dan focused. Dan thought about how free he felt when crafting or doing DIY projects, he focused on how happy and light it made him feel when he started a new art project. Then Dan thought about how he would love nothing more than to not have to worry about next months rent, or a bad manager at his workplace and just be free to do as he wished. he thought about finishing that miniature he was painting before this happened and- [Origin Bloodline "The Unbound Creator" has been formed]
