Along with the linkages formed by the grid, all the characters were also linked to each other through a mirror effect. This meant that The First Character was linked to The Twenty Sixth Character, the second was linked to the Twenty fifth, third to Twenty fourth and like that, thirteenth was linked to fourteenth. Although, their core characteristics were still different. Like The Thirteenth Character, M, wanted to Experience everything whereas The Fourteenth Character, N, wanted to rule the world.

In N's head, the only purpose worth living a life for, was to become the most powerful person in the world. For her, any Dream smaller than that was not worth dreaming and any thought that didn't lead her there was not worth thinking. She was quite focussed but just the sheer statistics provided by history books, kept her aware at the back of her mind that there was always a slight possibility of not making it to the top.

When such thoughts distracted N, to keep herself going, she got linked with M. M helped N stay on the path of ruling the world by giving her an ambition that was even bigger than ruling the world but still more accommodating, no matter where she was at any particular moment. In her moments of doubt, N would borrow M's ambition of experiencing everything, ruling the world Being just One of those experiences. This helped her to take the occasional break and gain a broader perspective, which her usually focussed approach lacked. "After all, what's the point of becoming a narrow-minded Emperor?" thought N.

What M got in return from N, was a point of view. A point of view that helped M discern between similar experiences and cover a broader range rather than getting stuck in the nitty-gritty of a limited number of experiences. How that worked was that whenever N would share her focussed approach with M, it made M think about how she had been thinking like N for a few experiences which was not allowing her to move on from them and M would immediately leave that Experience and go to another. Like few years back, M had started working in the social Space. After a year into it, N told M how she, after spending the year, sought to become a bigger political influence as that was the only practical way forward to be able to rule the world. This made M realize her own increasing influence and since politics was an Experience she was saving for later, to Experience once she had seen more of the world and her thoughts had matured, she immediately quit her job and started travelling. That was probably the beginning of the mirror effect for all other characters, starting with M and N.
