Chapter 2

After that message a few replies immediately came in.

----------------------------------------

[Admin] Your nonexistent uncle: Welcome #7! It should go without saying but please use common sense when in this chat. Otherwise, hope you enjoy being a traveler and have a safe journey!

[Murim 5] Your nonexistant uncles father: My son actually talked for once? That’s new.

[DND 2] Respect your elders: Dude, that joke isn’t funny anymore. It was fine the first time but not after a while.

[DND 6] We Like Fire: Agreed elder, also welcome #7! If you need any help with anything getting started please let us know!

[Murim 4] Fight Song: Yeah, I know @MMM had it really rough starting out and someone managed to help him.

[Modern 8] MMM: I’m muting this chat. I was just about to rush into combat with the boys.

I was quite confused at first but gradually got used to the interface, and tried sending my first message.

[DND 2] Overworked Employee #7: Hello everyone, pleased to meet you all. I’m just got this and am unsure what to do from here. I am currently working on a farm and at the moment I hardly have any freedom, so any help is appreciated.

[Murim 5] Your nonexistant uncles father: Hello just! I’m Your nonexistant uncles father, nice to meet you.

[Murim 4] Fight Song: …

[DND 6] We Like Fire: …

[DND 2] Respect your elders: … I’m blocking you

[Admin] Your nonexistent uncle: Spam.

[DND 2] Respect your elders: Sorry uncle. Anyways #7 do you know where you are in DND 2? I don’t mind giving you a helping hand and I don’t think there are many travelers currently at DND 2 as it is mostly a low level training ground. It will help a lot once you can use your abilities.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

[Admin] Your nonexistent uncle: Elder don’t spoil anything :) . But anyways I doubt #7 knows how to use his phone properly yet seeing how recently he joined. With your permission #7 I can send elder your active position. He won’t do anything bad as he wants to apply for mod and I’m still deciding based on his performance.

He was right seeing how I hardly knew how to use this chat app by itself and it seems to have been half an hour so I don’t have long till Abby is done with her nap, so I quickly agreed.

---------

[DND 2] Overworked Employee #7: If it’s not too much of a hassle I don’t mind at all. Thank you for all your help by the way. Also are there more people or is it just the few of you guys?

[DND 2] Respect your elders: Yeah there are about fifty of us but some guys are in different timezones, which is something that will get explained to you later. Just expect more people to pop on in about four hours.

[DND 2] Overworked Employee #7: Ok. I’ll have to be going for now but I do appreciate all your help. Especially anything you can help with ‘Elder’ :D

“You have disconnected from the current chat room”

----------------------------------------

After dismissing the PA, I lean my head back and try to get some sleep but five seconds later Abby comes and splashes cold water on me “Time to wake up!” and I went back to work. It was quite a tedious day and was quite bland compared to the work I did in the office but that seemed to be normal for John who only knew how to work in the fields and basic literature. The strangest thing we did was at dinner, where we prayed to the Goddess Lily for good harvest and thanks for the current harvest. Father started leading otherwise I would not have remembered the proper prayer, and would have caused frustration. Even Abby, with how crazy she was was a saint while praying.

I went upstairs and tried to fall asleep, but for the second time today I was interrupted. There was knocking at our door and it was loud enough to wake me up, which wasn’t surprising as there wasn’t any such thing as soundproofing in this era. I heard footsteps coming downstairs and got up and leaned against the wall to hear the conversation, and Abby slowly got up to joined me. We could clearly make it out thanks to the thin wood separating the rooms. “Are you Patrick? Farmer and father of John?” It sounded like an older man that was trying to be very polite. ‘For what reason they would be polite to a farmer I’m not sure. Maybe Elder did something?’ I ponder but get my answer soon after “By the decree of one of the ten Great Mages, Lucas Seymer, headmaster of the school of magic in the capitol of The Vresha Empire, John the farmer will be transported to the capitol to study under Great Mage Seymer in one moon to become a mage. All costs will be payed for by Great Mage Seymer and the best guards and food will be provided to John and any extra requirements and costs will as well be covered by Great Mage Seymer.”

“Sir, I hate to be rude but you might have the wrong location. My son has never done any formal mage training and has shown no ability to become a mage.”

“I have the location right and I am just doing as I was told. I would recommend to you to not test Mage Seymers patience as it is a one in a million opportunity to study under him.”

“Very well, two moons you said? I will make sure to have him ready by them.”

“Very well, then I’ll be off.”

As I heard the door close, Abby looked at me with all sorts of jealousy in her eyes.
