[Titles] [Skills] [Min-maxer] [Court of the Broken King] [Ultimum Celeritas] [Rampage] [Shadow Mantle] [Assassinate] [Time Magic]
Adrian couldn’t help but sigh when he saw his [Status]. He did obtain some good [Skills] and [Titles] but he had yet to level ten times more to unlock [Court of the Broken King]. And what’s even more frustrating is that .95 [Celeratio] that would remain there till the end of times. It was basically a point on [Celeratio] but it didn’t count towards reaching 50 [Celeratio].
He also thought that it was strange that the [Time Magic] grimoire appeared in the [Skills] section, but [Time Dilation II] did not. What would happen if the grimoire contained ten spells instead of one? Should he remember all of them? Maybe that’s why [Experenta] existed. So mages could remember five different overloaded spellbooks.
‘That actually makes sense… kinda.’ Adrian meditated as he walked back to the lair with Aby. ‘Why is [Time Magic] colorless while others are [Rare] or [Unique]? [Time Magic] sounds pretty rare to me. I mean, why was [Fast Stab] even [Rare] but [Assassinate] that is a more useful [Skill] is colorless? I hate having so many questions but little to no answers. Adrian also felt a bit ‘tingly’ as he revised what he had thought. There where multiple words that contained [...], but only he felt affected by those which had color. That synesthesia, that made him sense colors with other senses that weren’t his sight, was still there; becoming commoner.

“Oh, hi guys!” Dale saluted Aby and Adrian. “We had a bit of fun while you two were out.”
Dale pointed at a bunch of extra corpses at the ground. More mantises constituted the pile. Adrian thought that Dale sounded like Axel for a second.
“Yeah,” Axel started. “You alerted the guys out there. They didn’t stop coming, but we were lucky. Both [War-bond Tower] and [The Fool’s Wheel of Fortune] proc a lot and the bastards were massacred. Mike and I leveled up and we got ourselves a class.”
“That’s nice,” Adrian commented after taking another look at the pile of dead mantises. It was actually bigger than it looked like at first sight. “What did you get?”
“I got a [Rare] class called Durum.” Axel explained to them.
Adrian laughed. “Durum, you said?” And laughed once again.
“It actually means ‘tough’ in Latin,” Mike told. “But, yes. It sounds funny.” And then he laughed too.
“Why are you all laughing?” Axel asked. He wasn’t infuriated, he only felt lost.
“Nothing,” Adrian told between laughs. “It’s just the name of an Arabic plate. It’s like a taco.”
“What does it do?” Aby asked Axel about his new class while Adrian was still laughing. As a matter of fact, it looked like he was laughing in pain as he endured the pain on his left arm.
“Nullifies critical strikes on myself and returns a fraction of the damage I received.” Axel explained to her.
“That is somewhat better than my class,” Adrian said after stopping his laughing spree. “Did you get any [Constituta] growth boosts?”
“Nah. There was one, tho.” Axel responded.
“Just like my second option then,” Adrian added. “What about you, Mike?”
“I did what you told me.” He told. “It’s a [Rare] class called Unwavering Arrow. Grants a 150% increase to [Destretza], [Voluntat] now affects accuracy, and my arrows can inflict negative mental [Status Effects]. Well, the later is a [Title] that I obtained with the class.”
“Was a result of a [Skill Fusion]? Well, I suppose it would be [Title Fusion].” Adrian later corrected it. He had yet to see a [Title Fusion].
“This one not. The [Title] is [Maddening Tip]. I can inflict [Confusion] or [Madness] effect.” Mike explained while fiddling with his bow’s string. “I lost a new [Skill] and the one when I obtained my weapon and I gained [Foul Shot]. I can shoot two arrows, if one misses and the other one hits, it will do damage the one which stroke. If both hit, both deal damage. It synergizes with [Bullseye], which is nice.”
“So always hit, sometimes double damage, and if it’s a vital point then… sextuple damage? Jesus… That’s a one-shot combo.” Adrian did have a triple damage combo, but Mike now duplicated that record.
“It does consume a lot of mana and mental power, so it isn’t that strong.” Mike explained.
“Wait…” Adrian interjected. “Did you say mana?”
“Yes, I just did,” Mike affirmed. “[Foul Shot] is a spell-“
“There we have it, folks!” Adrian exclaimed with pure joy. “There’s magic!”
“And why it would be a surprise after everything we saw?” Aby asked doubtfully. “We were transported to another world, we have superhuman power, and you move faster than any person I have seen. Why a spell would bring you so much joy?”
“I think you don’t understand it,” Adrian explained. “I had abilities that consumed mental power, but Mike’s consumes mana. So, it’s magic! Actual wizard-like magic!”
“I still don’t understand why you are so happy, but good for you, I guess.” Aby told with a thumbs up. “What about you, Axel? Any new [Title] slash [Skills]?”
“I did get one, [Martyr Mindset].” He said. “Consumes severe stamina to take half of the damage of allies in an area.”
“That doesn’t sound that good, to be honest,” Dale told as he laid on the ground, looking up the sky. “You take more damage and then stamina is consumed. I don’t know chief, that sounds a bit flawed.”
“I see no problems,” Adrian said after calming down. “Axel’s [Constituta] makes him not only beefier but… fuck I can’t remember the word,” Adrian as he tried to spit the word at the tip of his tongue. He gave up seconds later. “… well, it gives him more stamina. So that [Skill] isn’t as harmful as it would be to us. He clearly can take more damage and endurance than any of us.”
“That’s true,” Dale said after meditating a bit. “Do we enter now as a party into the mantis’ den?” He asked out of nowhere.
“Sure, why not.” Adrian replied.
Aby had a lot of why to not go in that place, but she finally gave up as Axel entered the mine without even listening to her. He was a fearless tank.
