He opened his eyes wide and stared at the white ceiling of a medical facility. A sight he hated, why did he hate it? He did not know.
“Your Excellency”
He hated that too, the overly respectful terminology, most of the time it would be a mask, one he wanted to rip off.
But his head was blank, he knew not why he hated what he did, only that he did, like his knowledge was there but the memories he wished to attach to them wasn't.
He also knew that he was missing a hand, he did not need his memories to know that that was out of place.
Something was out of place, he knew that, but he also knew how to find out what.

“Your Excellency?”
“Yes, Your Excellency, Leniver”
Leniver, that must be his name. He certainly seemed to like it more than whatever his old one was.
“Am I a Chancellor? A president? Why the Excellency?”
“The head of a noble house, Your Excellency”
“Which one?”
“Recardia”
“Leniver von Recardia?”
“de Recardia”
“Leniver de Recardia”

“Yes, Your Excellency”
Leniver held his not missing hand out to take the report, he knew it would answer his questions.
Leniver opened it. He spent the next few minutes studying the document, it was quite well put together including a detailed introduction to Leniver. The reasoning behind which was provided as him being crowned due to events directly correlated to this battle.
He was the bastard son of the house of Recardia, he had been anonymous in his family, and even outside it, he had been forced to enlist in the war when his brother did and had joined the 111th, the Subsidiary division of the Knights of Recardia.
His brother had chased the opposing General, Atio and had set off an explosion which blew the hand of Atio off who then retaliated by cutting off Leniver’s hand and killing his brother before promptly dying.
His brother had no kids, which means the bastard child of Atradis de Recardia had ended up as the Lieutenant General of the Knights of Recardia, His Excellency Leniver de Recardia.
Also his old surname was Serapens. Leniver Serapens, he had to admit it had an odd ring to it.
Leniver called over the nurse and asked to meet with;
“General Entels”
