“Entels was a man of many talents, he was a scientist as well as a General. The Recardians before me hired him to keep him for themselves.”
Adwin nodded, waiting to hear more.
“He got the Recardian bloodline killed, on his watch, so he did the best thing he could think of. Kidnap the guy who killed them, and who should he find but me?”
Adwin looked like the cogs in his brain were turning.
“The amnesia from the legends! He drugged you didn't he? He had to do something and this was the way he went about it. I bet the bastard son never existed either.”
Leniver looked at Adwin with a fraction of admiration, the boy was surely gifted. For a second Leniver smiled, Adwin was grateful for it.

“Correct, he fed me forget me not flowers, after this there were several incidents of the Gift of Sym occuring around me and by the time General Entels got to me I had figured out who I was.”
Adwin stared for a moment, “Pardon, but, Forget me not flowers?”
Leniver paused for a moment “You see, Forget me not flowers are a strange specimen. Incredibly rare, they have the ability to remove the correlation of knowledge with memory, when I was under their influence I had the knowledge and the memories but I could not find them.
If I wanted to remember something, knowledge or memory I had to find the connecting link myself. When the Gift of Sym began to act up, I managed to link it to my true identity.”
Adwin was silent for a moment, “So this man, Entels, he drugged you with a concoction of Forget me not flowers?”
“Correct”
“When did he do it? How did you find out?”
“That leads us to the day he came back to the Pomerium” At Adwin's puzzled expression he added “The Romarium Capital, before he arrived however, I had spent a while cultivating a working relationship with the staff” Leniver took a minute to think back to those memories.
“I trained with the knights every morning at sun up, I sweet talked with the maids and studied with the scholars. I read a lot about Romariun politics, I was a Gerarian military man, I hadn't the slightest clue what Romariun politics were like. I let the scholars teach me. I'll tell it to you when the time is right”
Leniver sipped his tea for a bit and was in deep thought.
“Needless to say after a few weeks,, I was the house and Entels was a gambling addict about to face the house.”
