“How is this possible! Our scouts said it was clearly an Earth Dragon!” Cried the prince with a cracking voice.
“That’s a pretty big mistake on their part,” I replied in a bit of a nonchalant tone.
[Solution: This guide does not have any data on this World Dragon. According to this guide’s information it should only be an Earth Dragon.]
Wait, what? World Dragons are just a higher tier of Earth Dragon, could it have evolved on its own?
[Solution: Natural evolution near the bottom of the Dragon Mountains is unlikely. Odds for such an occurrence are 7,000,000 to 1. The most likely solution is due to the user defeating the Calico Dungeon’s boss. It will take at least three days for a new boss to spawn in the dungeon, but the abundance of mana that the boss would normally devour has been freed up, seeping into the surrounding countryside.]
So this monster appearing here is my fault?
[Solution: That is the most likely conclusion.]
Wow. Okay, so it’s a good thing I showed up here when I did. Is it possible there might be other evolved dragons coming down the mountain?
[Solution: The Dragon Mountains’ peaks are inhabited by rank 7 chaos dragons, but these creatures do not see much reason to come down the mountain ever. Often their children, though, will be more adventurous. It is unlikely any other dragon children will appear, even if they evolve due to the abundance of mana.]
That’s good. So this dragon here is just an adventurous one. Perhaps I could tame him and let him see the world like he wants? Though it’d be a bit hard to let him out to play. It’s hard enough with Sandy.
The logistics of taking care of a dragon were a bit overwhelming. Due to his size I could never let him out, even in the countryside, because he’d be visible for miles. I regretted it, but taming this beast would have too many complications. I’d have to go searching for a smaller dragon type monster, something more akin to Sandy’s size, to tame.
“Please… Even if the collateral damage kills everyone here,” begged the prince, “use that skill and kill that dragon. If a rank 5 beast is let loose into my country, everyone I care about will die. I don’t care if my life is forfeit, but Lil, Emerlia, and Tommy deserve better.”
I shoved the letter into the prince’s hands and gave him a lopsided smile. I was a bit glad he dragged me back from my thoughts.
“I’ll fix your dragon problem, little prince,” I said, barely holding back a laugh, “But in exchange, I want a nice dinner. No gruel like the damned Academy serves. You got that?” The prince’s expression almost made me break my composure. I decided, right then, that I would make this as flashy as possible.
With a flick of my wrist, Belial’s Blade was summoned in my right hand. I began circulating my mana, and my aura alone caused several of the lower level soldiers near me to pass out. The air began to distort around my body as my tail appeared. I had the Garb transform into its base form, giving me an air of regality.

“Wh-what are you?” Asked the prince in a hushed tone as he stumbled backwards against the wall of the ditch.
“Ah, I’ve already introduced myself, you know,” I said with a grin, “I’m just a demon named Calliope.”
I jumped out of the ditch onto the open plain in front of the fort. I could feel every soldier’s eyes boring a hole in my back. With a wave of my left hand, I summoned Sandy and mounted her. If she was afraid of the World Dragon ahead of us, she didn’t show it.
I heard several cries of ‘Omega Hound’ on the wind, but I paid them no mind. I pointed Sandy forward and she started running. Her tongue was hanging out the left side of her mouth and it flapped in the wind.
The World Dragon was large, but I faced them back in the SHO days. I knew that an Omega Hound would surely outspeed it.
The dragon twisted its massive body, swinging its tail around looking to swat aside the puny rank 4 beast approaching it. Sandy jumped up over the tail, and I stood up on her back. Using Sandy as a platform, I leapt onto the swinging tail and stabbed Belial’s Blade straight down.
“I’m sorry, Dragon, but I need you to die,” I said in a soft tone.
I activated -Blade Extension- and felt my sword pierce the far side of the subway car sized tail. With a quick flick, I lopped off the dragon’s entire appendage. It hit the ground hard, creating a small earthquake in its wake.
The dragon let loose a wail of pain that echoed far and wide. I started running along its body, cutting off any protruding scales or spikes as I went. The beast lurched and tried to roll onto its back to squash me, but such a slow monster didn’t have a chance to catch me off guard. I ran into its spin, keeping pace with the rotation, and I carved chunks of flesh free the size of small cars with every swing.
I made my way towards the monster’s neck, and it fought and writhed up until its last moment.
I leapt into the air and buried my blade into the beast’s throat. I twisted my body at the waist and dragged the blade the rest of the way through, beheading the World Dragon with one swing.
The monster’s body squirmed like a chicken, but after a moment it stopped moving for good. The World Dragon had been defeated in a rather roundabout way, but it should have been flashy enough for the soldiers.
I quietly stored Belial’s Blade and reunited with Sandy. Since the base had already seen her there was no point storing her now.
We approached the base, and I was awed by the sheer silence. I couldn’t even hear the sound of the soldiers breathing. I quickly picked out the jaw-dropped prince I was speaking with earlier and pointed at him.
“Oy, mustache prince! Your dragon problem has been solved!” I yelled, hoping to free the people from their daze. It worked.
The soldiers and adventurers erupted into a roaring cheer that gave me goosebumps. It felt kind of good to be cheered on like that. That was something I could get used to.
