The Tale of a Deicide
Transcendal Island Part 3

Transcendal Island Part 3

I awoke, still lying down, my eyes barely open. The boat was gently rocking, and I realized I was cuddling with something warm. I didn’t quite notice what it was until Goblee, Jon, and Olivia returned from their expedition, laughing at the sight of me. Confused, I glanced down, only to find Maya resting against me, her body curled into mine. At first, I thought it was just a pillow, but then it hit me. My hands were gripping her. I froze for a moment. What the hell? What was she doing here?

I tried to move, to escape her grasp without waking her, but it was futile. She stirred, and I could feel her eyes opening. She blinked, taking in the situation, and I felt a pang of dread. This was it. I was done for.

"Oh, you’re awake." I muttered nervously, trying to apologize for the awkwardness.

But Maya’s response was nothing like I expected. She simply stood up, stretched, and walked over to Goblee and the others. The tension I felt faded, replaced by relief, though I quickly realized that I had to act unaffected.

"We found the 4th Trial, Master," Goblee called out as we followed him toward the Trial site, an air of seriousness suddenly hanging over us. And, once again, we were teleported.

TRIALS

Trial Number #4: Level-Up Trial

Description: Fight waves of {Monsters} to gain experience.

Time: 7 Days

Rewards: All the experience you earned on [Transcendal Island].

Failure: Fall to Level 1.

----------------------------------------

"Whoa, this is bad," I muttered as we assessed the situation. It seemed like an insurmountable challenge, but no one said anything for a moment. We all communicated through [Mind-to-Mind Talk] and tried to make sense of the situation. After a quick scan, I realized we were not in the same place anymore.

"I think you're in a different location," Jon said, his voice echoing in my mind.

"Yeah, I know." I replied. "We should just complete the mission," I suggested. Everyone agreed. The trial had begun.

From the distance, I spotted a {Monster}. At first, it was just one, but in the blink of an eye, hundreds appeared. This wasn’t going to be easy. They were {Zombies}, fast and relentless, charging at me. I drew my sword and made quick work of them. One by one, the {Zombies} fell, and soon the battlefield was silent.

"Are you alright?" I asked, though I knew they had just finished their battle as well.

"Yes," came the collective response. But before we could catch our breath, more monsters appeared. This time, it was {Orcs}. They came at me from all directions. I had no choice but to act fast. I rushed into the fray, cutting down one after another. They surrounded me, but I couldn’t stop now. Using [Time Stop], I halted time and began to slice through them before I felt the weight of the backlash. My body screamed, but I pushed on, finishing them all.

When I released the [Time Stop], I fell back onto the ground, breathing heavily. "Exhausting," I muttered.

Just as I lay there recovering, the ground trembled, and more monsters appeared: {Goblins} and {Ogres}. I leapt up, grabbed my [Katana], and dashed toward them, cutting through their ranks with ease. The battle was over quickly. We were teleported back.

As I looked around, I saw the others collapsed, drained from the fight. I had an idea. If I placed them in the [Time Capsule], they might recover faster. I did just that, increasing the capsule’s speed to accelerate their recovery.

A few moments later, Olivia screamed, startled. "Where are we?" she asked, her voice filled with confusion. Damn, that was fast. I retrieved them from the [Time Capsule] and explained the situation.

"Trial #5, here we come," Goblee yelled, excitement building in his voice as he led the way to the next Trial.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

TRIALS

Trial Number #5: Weapon Trial

Description: Use only your weapon to fight {Monsters}. Physical attackers cannot use 'Magic', and Magic users cannot use physical attacks. Both can use anything else.

Time: 9 Days

Rewards: A new or upgraded {Weapon}.

Failure: All {Weapons} will be taken away.

----------------------------------------

We teleported, alone once more. The eerie silence set in. We communicated through [Mind-to-Mind Talk] as we awaited the appearance of the next {Monster}. But what stood before me wasn’t a typical {Monster}. It was a {Dragon}—a powerful and terrifying creature. I quickly checked its Status to assess the threat.

"What the hell is this?" I said under my breath, my mind racing to figure out the best approach. The {Dragon} didn’t give me time to think. Its tail lashed out at me, and I barely dodged in time. I rolled beneath it, slicing upwards with my sword. The creature was fast, but I was faster. I dove toward its mouth and sliced through it, cleaving the beast in half.

The {Dragon} fell, lifeless. My body ached from the battle, drenched in sweat, but it was over. I teleported back, finding the others already waiting.

"It was so fucking tiring," Jon yelled. The others nodded in agreement.

When I received the reward, I looked at my [Katana]. The blade was surrounded by a black light—so dark it seemed to absorb the very light around it. As the black light dissipated, the sword fused with my hand, shocking me to my core.

"What the—" I said in disbelief.

The Greek text was strange, but the skills were undeniable. I couldn't measure its attributes, but the weapon was powerful. I quickly decided to name it [Omnipotent]. As I looked at my hand, I instinctively used the same gesture I used for my [Katana], and once again, the black light enveloped my hand. The sword materialized.

"Whoa, how did you do that?" Maya asked, amazed. Before I could respond, Goblee piped up. "Master is a prodigy! No one can beat Master!" We all laughed.

I sheathed the [Katana], and it dispersed itself, leaving no trace of its form. It was a new kind of weapon, something beyond anything I had ever known.

After a brief respite, we set off and soon found the 6th Trial. It was located within the ruins of a palace. I took a moment to survey the area before entering, aware that the trial would teleport us. We entered the domain of the Trial.

TRIALS

Trial Number #6: Skills Evolution

Description: Defeat {Monsters} using only 'Magic' Skills.

Time: 11 Days

Rewards: A new or evolved Skill.

Failure: All Skills will be reset to Level 1.

----------------------------------------

We teleported alone once again. My task was clear: defeat a [Dragon Monster] using only my Magic. The {Dragon} was powerful, breathing fire at me. I summoned [Omnipotent] to defend against the attack. Then, a wild idea struck me. I stretched my hand forward, focusing on creating a Snake. To my surprise, a dark, black serpent emerged from my hand, slithering toward the {Dragon}. It sank its fangs into the beast, draining its life force, just like a vampiric snake.

In moments, the fierce {Dragon Monster} was reduced to nothing. I didn’t need to use physical attacks—I had used Magic. I teleported again, outside of the Trial.

Afterward, I checked my Status, and the changes were immediately apparent.

----------------------------------------

Status Effect

Status Effect Name: Evolution of Skills

Description: {Unholy Magic} evolved into {Space Magic}. {Undemonic Magic} evolved into {Time Magic}.

----------------------------------------

"Cool," I muttered, but before I could assess further, a notification appeared on my screen.

----------------------------------------

Status Effect

Status Effect Name: Evolution of 'The System'

Description: 'Player' cannot access 'The System' while it is transcending.

----------------------------------------

"What?" I exclaimed, then urged the others to check their Status. They were able to do so without issue. It seemed that only my 'The System' was transcending. I fell into deep thought, trying to process what this meant.
