The red dragon crept toward the storage room with anxiety in its step. It had been evading the ugly thing for far too long and its poor legs were getting tired. It slipped through the crack of the open door and took a rest against the corner. Conveniently enough, the wall had magically opened for him to slide right through. It was exhausted and overwhelmed by the sheer work ethic of living in general. The red dragon’s body bounced up and down with excitement as it gained a new thing. What was that thing? No idea.
+1 END
A rigid looking counter was placed too high for the dragon to see, but whatever was up there smelled very tantalizing to the red dragon. It wagged its small tail eagerly trying to see what could smell so delicious. Trying to spread its wings for the umpteenth time, it pawed at the ground intently. The dragon had no concept of doubt in its mind, only fear and danger. It moved straight ahead, gliding its wings through the air and piercing the skies above to meet the table and--

The dragon slid down the table leg until it abruptly met the floor in defeat. It felt dizzy, but only a slither of its health had even diminished. In fact, from the time it had been captured to its time at this facility, its health points had increased dramatically. The power of growing up was harnessed to its full potential. The dragon had gained over a hundred points in health during its capture.
Fortunately, for the poor red dragon who could do nothing but drool, it hadn’t come out empty handed. With trials and tribulations comes change. With change comes progress, and with progress comes glory. Well, the dragon was more or less content with shaking around its paws as a new skill had been learned.
Flying Level 1 Unlocked!
The dragon didn’t know what “flying” was, but if it had to guess--well it wouldn’t guess at all. It had already switched its attention back to the same monotonous trial of trying to climb this table. Either by clawing or trying to instinctively fly up there, it would fail time after time again. The fate of the red dragon wasn’t limited to the things around it though. This dragon was especially curious of the world-- and hungry.

Flying Level 2 Unlocked!
After a considerable amount of time, the dragon began to feel dizzy. Repeating the process of hitting its head against the wall and smacking its body to the ground resulted in little progression. Although it was progression nonetheless. Herald was on the way and he could discrepantly hear the sound of smacking as he searched with zest for the creature.

WARNING HEALTH LEVEL CRITICAL
Herald came barging in as the dragon plopped onto the floor for the last time, desperate to grab a parcel of meat from the counter. The old man couldn’t believe his eyes, this dragon was really dumb! Well, most dragons were dumb, but what kind of dragon even does this to hurt itself endlessly? Herald picked the dragon up, and set it on the counter with the meat. He began to examine the dragon, making sure it hadn’t sustained permanent injury despite its current weak state.
“Sucker can’t even process when to stop. You would have died if I hadn’a got here just in time!” Herald said. He turned the dragon over on its back and realized it wasn’t in a serious condition. “I’ll let you rest here, I doubt you can move too far before I get back. It’s about time to pin up these dragons until the militia comes to get me.” He said to himself before exiting the room.
The dragon flipped over on its side and rolled to its belly, smelling something delightful in range of its jaws. It rolled over on the wrong side and almost fell to the ground in death. “Gyahhhh!” It screamed in fear, before fluttering to its feet and turning to the source of the smell. The dragon was amazed at the sight.
Fine cut meat into small cubic bits, the sight was enough to gawk out. The dragon wagged its tail as it started chomping into the meat like the hungry animal it was. The meat was of a cattle that had been raised for butchering. It was quite delectable to the baby dragon! Chomping into the meat with its mouth full, the dragon inherited a large sum of the meat into its body.

The dragon immediately felt stronger, a wave of energy washed over the dragon. It was absolutely stuffed to the brim! The dragon sprawled out on its back with its newly large gut popping out. It burped a small flame geyser, but it was still a puny flame in comparison to a normal dragon flame.

Of course, out of nowhere came the big blue dragon. The dragon flapped its wings onto the table and began gobbling up the meat like a hungry piranha. It completely disregarded the existence of the red dragon. The red dragon was immediately envious of the blue dragons beautiful scales and its larger wings and claws. The blue dragon gobbled up the rest of the meat and looked at the red dragon without emotional capacity. It simply saw a lower being of its pack.
Herald came bursting through the door with a grunt as he chased after the blue dragon. “Damnit! You may be a rare breed, but that doesn’t give you authority over me! I may be old, but I’m not out of the business yet!” He said to the dragon. Ironically, the old man tripped and fell to the ground with a loud smack. “Damnit!”
The two dragons looked at the man curiously. They had different perspectives on the man, one thought of him as a simple prey. The other thought of how it could benefit by taming such a creature. The latter was the thought of the red dragon. Although its thoughts were more refined to something like, me use! It’s insight led to another breakthrough.

The dragon started to feel slightly more intelligent. It could now correlate this prompt to its intelligence. Rather, it could recognize it as a positive. The blue dragon licked around its sharp teeth as the man stood up. “I ain’t yer’ damn snack!” Herald slammed his palm on the table and scared the blue dragon slightly. “Grrrrrryahhh!” It snarled at Herald.
Herald didn’t flinch, instead his gaze was slightly ajar to the blue dragon. He was actually looking at the red dragon, who’s scales were a much darker red than before. The scales held a much more polished and refined look to them, while also maintaining a hardness greater than most dragons.
Herald shifted his feet around before brushing the dragons skin lightly. The scales were hard as a rock! “My god!” Herald said. He was completely shocked at this development. Only seconds ago did the dragon have pale and fragile skin, now it had the skin of a dragon who’d been living for nearly twenty years. “This kind of scale will sell at a high price! Fella’ you about to make me some real money.” He rubbed the head of the dragon before he went looking for his net.
A loud knock erupted from the door, and a storm of men came running into the building. This distracted Herald as he looked up to see the militia searching for him. Herald shut the door holding back the men on the other side. "I didn't kill him!" He exclaimed, crying out to the militia.
Obviously, the pair of dragons weren't inclined to wait on the old man to capture them. They simply hobbled away to the nearby open window. The blue dragon flew away into the broad daylight and the red dragon fell from the window to the ground in a dramatic but expected way.
The screaming of Herald could be heard as he realized his fatal flaw. Poor Herald was also being arrested by the militia men at the same time. They had come to claim his head for the murder he committed. Wrongfully convicted or not, Herald was in for a pretty shit day. Speaking of shit, the red dragon landed in a hot pile of it.
The dragon rolled out of the dog poop, feeling quite satisfied with this new waxing. It was like a warm blanket around the dragon, but also kind of nasty. The dragon didn’t find it very tasty. His blue brother was long gone into the sky, but fortunately enough, the dragon had already forgotten of the blue dragon’s existence. The existence of Herald was fading fast as well, and so was his time on this planet. “FUCK! Let me go!” Distant screaming could be heard by the senile man.
The streets were practically empty in the city. Due to it being the back end of autumn, the temperature was steadily dropping and farmers all around were stocking up on supplies. The local villagers had to make sure this winter wouldn’t be as bad as the last one. The dragon hobbled around the street, taken back by the vast amount of information it had to process.
It first noticed the clear blue sky, void of all clouds. Then it noticed a stockpile of wood that it had been standing beside, along with a number of cabins that were lined along a gravel pathway. It turned around back to Herald’s shop to observe it as well. The worn down place was quite ugly on the outside, but had a clean interior full of white corridors and compartments. It was cascaded in a rotten wood though.
A single horse carriage stomped along the gravel pathway as the dragon stretched its wings out under the warm rays of the sun. The horse stopped instinctively as its owner veered it to a halt. “Well, I’ll be damned. If that ain’t a dragon!” A fat lady eating a big piece of meat said. She had white garments and a fancy hat that signified she was of higher stature in the city.
“Tommy! Pick me this dragon up! We’re takin’ dis’ one home to be my pet.” She said. Her greedy mouth and fingers picked away at the meat as she eagerly awaited her new pet to become her docile toy. A slender looking man with a suit came out from the other side of the carriage. He picked the dragon up into his hands, grabbing it by the snout and back end. “Yes ma’am, I’ll hold the dragon until we get back.” Tommy said in a fancy voice.
The dragon struggled under the grip of Tommy, feeling extremely frustrated at this situation. He had finally caught a glimpse of freedom, and was now under the care of another greedy person. He hated these ugly creatures with a burning passion. He couldn’t understand why it always had to be him over his blue brother! If he could fly like his brother, this wouldn’t happen. It was times like this that his memory would clock in, and he could remember his siblings for a short vestige in time.
Meanwhile, Tommy clenched his teeth in terror as the red dragon got shit all over his best suit. It had rolled in some dog shit that Tommy hadn’t immediately seen due to the circumstances, but it sure was evident now! Tommy wanted more than anything to beat the living hell out of this dragon for dirtying his suit, but it wouldn’t do much good for him with Lady Roosta wanting this dragon so intently.
And so, Lady Roosta and her motley entourage beckoned off over the horizon with the poor red dragon. Would his luck ever improve? Not in the foreseeable future. The dragon had a long journey ahead of it, so it simply accepted its fate in the hands of Tommy until it found its first glimpse of escape once again.
