Chapter - 15 - Fuinjutsu! Part-2

{Training Room #07, Konoha Library, Konohagakure}

{6:43 PM, 1st April 12 Yrs ANB}

{3rd Person POV}

Ren had only focused on learning fuinjutsu during the past week, and that too was only because he had managed to get his Chakra control to be above 35 percent after leveling up the tree walking exercise to level 2.

'Why was fuinjutsu stat locked for chakra control anyway, isn't it just correctly writing the seals?' Ren was a bit puzzled by how his new power decided to do some of the stuff.

Ren finished adding the final kanji and waited for a bit, seeing that there were no reactions coming from the seal, he focused and molded a little bit of chakra before injecting it into the trigger seal. A blue box appeared in front of him indicating the successful production of another seal.

[Skill {Basic Sealing Scroll} Leveled up!]

[Basic Sealing Scroll: Lvl 2 (0.00% to Next Lvl)]

[The Storage Seal, allows a shinobi to seal objects or entities within a designated space, typically within a scroll or a seal. Shinobi primarily employ the Storage Seal to store items such as weapons, tools, and even jutsu's.

By infusing chakra into a seal, a shinobi can create a temporary storage space and seal the desired object within it. This ability is particularly useful during combat situations, as shinobi can quickly retrieve necessary items or release weapons at the enemy to assist them in battle.]

After reading the barrage of blocks that appeared in front of him, Ren took a sigh of relief, although the increase in weight limit was okay and an improvement. He was more relieved by the fact that he gained a stat in INT after leveling up the skill, and the fact that he didn't actually feel any different after gaining the INT stat. Though the second part he was aware of from the last time he gained stat in INT, but it doesn't hurt to double-check every time this happens.

He sighed as he leaned back and looked at the finished seal, he looked at the seal trying to figure out if anything changed after the skill leveled up, he pulled out another seal that he made just moments ago and the seal looked the same, but looking at it closely Ren could see some differences, although the Kanji was the same for both the seal, the angles were a little bit different.

"So you finally figured it out," Ren looked up to see Rinko-san leaning over his shoulders to look at his seal.

"The angles?" Ren asked, he had checked Rinko-san's stats with his Observe but didn't get any information. Though it would make sense for her to know about Fuinjutsu.

"Yes, the angles do you think if you could just copy-paste the kanji from an already formed seal then it would work?" Rinko-san spoke as she took the calligraphy brush that Ren was using, she rubbed it on the table to remove the ink before she turned the brush around and started tracing the kanji that Ren had mapped.

"You know why we infuse chakra in the ink to create seals right," she asked.

"..." Ren wasn't sure what to answer, all the knowledge that came with the skill was just about how to create two seals, how to use the calligraphy brush, and how to infuse chakra into the ink.

"What are they teaching you guys at the academy..." Rinko-san sighed before she pointed out, "... why do you think seals work, who first created the first seal, why would drawing random stuff even allow you to magically store your weapons in a piece of paper."

'...okay so maybe I don't know enough about Fuinjutsu...'

"You infuse chakra into the ink for the seal to work, why because every seal represents a small chakra network in itself. Take any jutsu for example, what do you do when you perform the Bunshin no jutsu, you mold your chakra. That is equivalent to infusing your chakra in the fuinjutsu ink, you give the ink and sealing scroll to create the kanji next. That is equivalent to forming hand signs when you perform a jutsu, how you manipulate your chakra to do a jutsu."

...

'...That makes a lot more sense...'

"...so I could create a seal and when if I inject chakra into it, it would spawn 5 clones of me like the Bunshin no Jutsu," Ren asked/stated.

...

'Wow, wait that could happen too?' Ren was distracted for a moment but he still focused on Rinko-san's explanation.

"Yes, though that would depend on how you would be able to derive the seal formulae for that to work out, you can consider every seal as a jutsu. But the Fuinjutsu isn't constrained to just replicating the effects of Chakra and elements, the main essence of Fuinjutsu, in the end, is sealing, like the storage seal. This is an independent and the original branch of Fuinjutsu, the one that existed before the Uzumaki Clan expanded upon the idea of sealing onto bigger things."

'Uzumaki Clan?' Ren thought as he turned around to look at Rinko-san, seeing if she was perhaps joking with him.

"Uzumaki Clan?" Ren asked, there were a lot of questions on his mind regarding Fuinjutsu but he still blurted out the most absurd thing that stood out to him.

"Yes, the Uzumaki Clan, an extinct clan, once allied with Konoha, they were the foremost masters of the world when it came to using Fuinjutsu," Rinko-san replied.

...

'I can look in the library later, right now I should probably focus on getting more information about sealing...'

"So the storage seal is like from some special branch of Fuinjutsu?" Ren got their conversation back on track.

"Yes, Fuinjutsu could be used in two ways, one way is to replicate jutsu, like the exploding seals and paralysis seals, that branch mainly deals with the elements and how chakra could be manipulated as a whole. The sealing branch on the other hand focuses on containing objects or things, there is another branch that mainly deals with creating barriers..."
