Chapter 1 - Nothingness?

Southern Region, in a random mountain peak.

In the morning, a young man in his teenage years got out of a small hut and yawned.

After conducting a few stretching exercises, he then walked to the mountain cliff.

Looking down on a small community with houses built surrounding the mountain cliff, his eyes revealed a glint, examining the people who came and went to and from their houses.

It seemed like the people in the small community were preparing for some sort of festival or occasion.

The young man, still analyzing the people, saw out of the corner of his eye a 15 to 16 -year-old boy brimming with energy.

From his vision, he saw a dense and terrifying blood qi emanating from the boy. This boy looked tall with a muscular physique that was a bit too much for his age.

The young man, who observed him for a while, had an unsettling grin on his face.

"It looks like I'll be having a companion after some time," he said before turning around and walking on the way back to the hut.

The young man's name was Zhuge Minghui, and he first landed on this planet five years ago.

He came out of an egg in an unspecified location in which even space and time couldn't exist. While he was in the egg, he subconsciously absorbed the qi of nothingness.

Although it may seem like something normal, peerless experts and ancient monsters would faint from shock if they saw this.

The egg continued to do so for 10 years. After a decade of waiting, the egg finally had cracks and out stepped a human of around 8 to 9 years old.

If other people were placed there, they would immediately die because the qi of nothingness would empty their life force in an instant.

So to say that this being was extraordinary is a heavy understatement.

The being seemed to instinctively cultivate the power of nothingness to make it his own, and after three years of tireless cultivation, he decided to set off on a journey, continuously flying.

After some time, he fell asleep while flying due to boredom until he found himself on a planet, lying on the grasses in a crater the size of his body.

It didn't look like he had a smooth landing at all.

When he woke up, he started to understand and decipher what this world contained.

Despite his childish appearance, he already has a matured mindset, so while he was going through countless regions, he gradually found out that people here used something called internal energy, which superimposed with their quick and strong martial arts skills.

Their physical bodies were what they mostly used in combat, with various techniques containing various combat power and utility movements.

After understanding the essence of this world and its warriors' combat skills for some time, at night, he decided to settle down on a mountain cliff near a village to look for someone of great talent and potential who could accompany him on his journey throughout the cosmos.

That's what led Zhuge Minghui to the current situation.

---

Three days later, in the same village, the occasion that the residents were organizing had begun.

Cheering, fun, enjoyment, and dancing were occurring all around the small community. It simply made one want to join in on the fun due to the fervor the people were exuding.

It turned out that it was the chief of the village who was celebrating his birthday!

This was why the occasion seemed very grand, with different kinds of food being cooked and made.

The celebration lasted for a whole day, and at night, when the villagers were all drunk, they decided to call it a day and go home to recuperate.

But before they could even enter their houses, they heard people running fast from a certain direction that was only lit by moonlight.

After a moment's notice, they saw that they were bandits!

The bandits, who were running, had someone at the forefront, presumably their leader, who stopped before the entrance of the village, which led to the whole group stopping as well.

"You people are celebrating without us? I thought we would go through water and fire for each other?" the leader of the bandits said sarcastically with a sad expression.

"But it doesn't matter anymore! We're here now, and we will just take your things as compensation for not being loyal to us!"

As soon as the bandit leader said that, the group began to run inside the village, destroying the wooden gate and even their walls.

The villagers, filled with indignation, shouted, "How dare you defile our celebration! We won't let you take what is ours!"

The bandit leader laughed. "Resist if you must, but it will only bring you more suffering."

The village chief stepped forward with his sword. "We will not just stand by while you plunder our village. People, arm yourselves!"

Despite their courage, the villagers, mostly untrained in combat, grabbed farming tools and old weapons, ready to defend their homes.

The bandit leader smirked. "That's brave, but you're like a mantis stopping a carriage."

" Men, take them down!"

The chaotic battle ensued. Despite their bravery, the villagers were no match for the bandits' ruthless efficiency.

One by one, the villagers fell. The chief, though valiant, was overwhelmed and struck down.

"No… we must… protect…" the chief gasped as he fell.

In the midst of the chaos, the young boy with the muscular physique, Tian, emerged from his home, his eyes burning with fierce determination.

"I won’t let you destroy my home!" Tian roared, charging at the bandits.

The bandit leader noticed Tian. "Hey, look, what do we have here?"

One of the bandits, a rough-looking man, grinned. "This one’s different. Look at his qi. It’s dense."

Another bandit, wielding a curved blade, leered. "Stronger than the rest. He could be useful."

Tian fought fiercely, his raw power and energy astonishing the bandits. However, he was eventually surrounded.

"I won’t surrender!" Tian shouted, breathing heavily.

The bandit leader stepped forward. "We don’t want to kill you, boy. Join us. With your strength, you could become great."

"Never! I will never join scum like you!" Tian spat defiantly.

The bandit leader sighed. "That's a shame. Unfortunately , you have no choice haha. Take him down, but keep him alive. He might change his mind."

The bandits converged on Tian, overwhelming him with sheer numbers. Despite his efforts, he was subdued and captured.

"Let me go!" Tian struggled as he was bound.

"Welcome to the real world, boy," the bandit leader smirked. "You’ll see things our way soon enough."

As Tian was dragged away, the village lay in ruins, its people slain or scattered. The bandits, having plundered all they could, left the desolate village behind.

Meanwhile, high up on a tree branch near the village, Zhuge Minghui watched the devastation unfold below. A strange light gleamed in his eyes as he observed Tian’s capture. "There we go... Now's my time to act."
