I ran over to the two guards who just started trying to get back up.
“Let me help, please.” I begged them.
“Fine,” Phoenix replied, “but this is your only chance.”
I thanked her and went after the Big Guy. I ran down the hallway following noises of things falling and getting broken. BAM! I turned left. BOOM! I continued straight. Then I looked around and realized that I was somehow where I started again. Then I heard stomping coming from behind me, so I ran and hid. I saw the Big Guy come running back.
“How do I get out of this confounded place?!” He yelled.
“Now’s my chance.” I whispered to myself.
I think of the most deadly gas I could think of, hydrogen cyanide. I once again feel my pores sucking in all the chemicals around me. I sit there quietly while the Big Guy starts hitting and throwing stuff around, but nothing ever hints that the gas was ready. Suddenly my throat started tingling. I opened my mouth and a pale-bluish gas started pouring out.
The Big Guy looked down and saw that up to his waist was nothing but a pale-blue fog. Soon the fog was up to his chin, and he looked worried. Phoenix and Kyle were nowhere to be found. A couple more minutes went by and his head was completely covered with the fog. He started coughing, then he started coughing harder, soon he started vomiting and coughing up blood. He started screaming in pain. Then I heard a loud crack and a thud. I stopped exhaling the gas, and waited for it to disperse. When it was gone I saw that his eyes, nose, and ears had started to bleed, so he snapped his own neck to make the pain stop.

I begin to look around again to see if I could possibly find the two guards. Then massive flood lights turned on above me since I had been in the dark so long my eyes needed some time to adjust. I look around to see them standing behind me. Since I could see better now I could see what they looked like. Kyle was a tall lean man, he didn’t have big hulking muscles, but he was skinny either. He had longish, straight, red hair. His eye color was brown. Phoenix was taller than he was, she was semi-muscular. She had more muscles than he did actually. She had brown hair, and had hazel eyes.
“Congratulations.” Said Kyle, he had a deeper voice than I remembered.
“I agree.” Stated Phoenix. She sounded the same.
“Thank you, I guess?” I replied.
“You passed the test, he did not.” Kyle said motioning to the Big Guy.
“This was a test of morality, to see if you would help or if you would be a menace.” Continued Phoenix.
“He was given the same option as you to break free and destroy the place, or to wait until it was your time. When he broke out was another choice, to wait idly by and watch and listen or to take action. Then came the final choice and the deciding factor of your test. If you would help us or if you would hurt us like he did.”
“Now would you like to see what has been done to you?” Kyle asked.
Yes, please,” I replied,”I want to know how to help people with this new ability.”
