After reading through Peter could clearly see that the world existed almost behind a thin grey film almost as if he wasn't fully present in the world.

At that moment a giant lion erupted from his chest as it pounced on him from behind and passed right through his body, frozen in shock peter watched as it whirled and padded back up to him and starting pawing at him with a massive paw the size of his head with six inch long dagger like claws fully extended ripping through his ghostly body.

With a jack hammering heart he tried not to move but still flinched every time that very real looking paw swept through his body. Looking at the lion as it finally seemed to grasp that it couldn't touch him and slouched down on the ground peter was terrified at the size of the teeth that looked razor sharp and and deep amber eyes that never left him and seemed content to wait until the juicy morsel in front of it became available.

With effort to refocus and thinking about how the nature channel lions looked like kittens Peter took some calming breaths and decided that he should look through the status menu but perhaps delay the class selection until a human eating monster wasn't trying to get involved in a staring contest with him.

Closing his eyes so he could try and ignore certain death he tried to organize his thoughts. First off, who in the world was that man/not human person that he met with, that guy seemed to know at least some of what was going on but had been convinced he was tied to a guild, whatever that was, and had been improperly hidden away on earth. Assuming that guy was probably the Guardian Protector of the Garnet empire that the system referred to, as having sent him to this death trap. At least hearing the word Earth made him realize that perhaps he wasn't on Earth anymore and that someone he was involved in intrigue that involved guilds and an empire he had never heard of. Even more the guy assumed Peter was royalty of some sort.

Something had selected/chosen him and pulled him into this strange world, and he had no idea how to get back to earth or if that was even possible. In addition he now was in a game like system as if he had been pulled into a video game or some book. Wait did that mean he had died? Was this a isekai type situation? That hadn't felt like death but to be honest he had never died didn't have a great feel for how it was supposed to feel.

Maybe this was an opportunity to really have some adventure and honestly who doesn't kinda want to grow in strength and get strong enough to punch through a planet or have a pet dragon.

With a thought Peter tried to think of a status menu and sure enough a new menu popped up in front of him. Despite him closing his eyes to continue to shut down the feline monster in front of him the status panel seemed to show up just fine.

Uhhhh, despite all the shocking news so far the system declaring that he wasn't human was hard to miss, as Peter mentally took a minute to reset. How in the world could he not be human? Was that just part of this world shift? Had he been changed? Panicked he look at his hand and felt all over his body to confirm he did still seem to be human but all seemed to be normal yet the system declared him a golem of rank (Talc). The only thing Peter could remember from science classes was that Talc was a very soft rock. As far as being a golem he would have assumed from all the fantasy he had read that a golem would have been made of boulders that were kinda floated together in a vaguely humanoid shape but he still felt like vanilla human.

Had all of those fantasy book lied to him? I mean I assume most fantasy authors haven't actually been to those fantasy world so some lenience could be given but Peter kinda felt like he had been betrayed and realized most of his fantasy knowledge might not apply here.

Perhaps being a golem explained why he had a resource called magma? As he focused on it he had an odd feeling of potential as if he could use the magma to grow stronger and as he focused on it his arms and chest swell and thicken and heard a small ding and another window popped up.

Checking his status he saw that his strength had risen to 15(5) while his magma had dropped to 10/110. He wasn't sure how long it would last or how long it would take his magma resource to regenerate but holy cow his strength felt amazing like he deadlift a world record or crush stone in his hand.

Taking a moment to look at the new window he realized it was a skill associated with the magma.
